The Pallet Town part is a nice detail to call back their origins. Since Red and Blue already had battle themes to themselves, I feel this one specially tied to Leaf.

In retrospect, why did it take nearly 30 years for something like this to be made? I mean it's a battle theme based on the main theme of pokemon, something like this should be kinda obvious.
Sun and Moon did something sort of like this with its Champion-Theme. But it definitely didn’t lean into the main-motif as hard as this theme. Edit: Actually, listening to the Sun/Moon-Theme again after years, it did have a lot of the main-motif in it too.
I love this theme. I knew they'd incorporate the main theme into this and it works flawlessly! I also predicted that Pallet Town would be included in this, although I don't know Kanto enough to imagine it. The one thing that I was disappointed by me was that there is no Kanto trainer theme involved, which is already missing from Masters EX. But that's okay, I am just so glad they incorporated the main theme into this! This theme alone is convincing me to pull for Red and I only have 13K gems! I'm so scared I won't be able to get him but I will try my best to maximize the amount of gems I get, even if it takes going out of my comfort zone. Good luck to everyone!
Don’t worry! The Kanto Trainer theme is actually used in Masters EX! Red/Blue/Leaf actually have a unique battle theme when you fight them in the tutorial mode right under the Champion Stadium. It’s a mix of Blue’s battle theme, Red’s battle theme, and the normal Trainer theme to represent Leaf!
I’m happy to say they’re coming back and this time I’ll get both Neo Champion Blue and Leaf. Also LETS GO THAT GUITAR SOLO!!! 0:381:422:453:48 and 4:52
I feel weird they're called Neo Champions, I mean, they're actually champions, at least red and blue, i feel like leaf it's the only one able to be called Neo Champion

@@kingfox7079 According to the few dialogues of the game, a neo champion is a character who embodies courage and who represents a way of living and fighting with his pokémons, I imagine that the protagonists and certain trainers (aka the neo champions already in the game ) are figures of courage and role models. And who else besides the protagonists in Kanto could have this role? It is true that Red is Champion and Blue Gym leader but on the other hand Kalem/Serena are also Champions and Travis is gym leader too ^^
@kingfox7079 as far as I understand, neo champion is a title that can be obtained in passio independent if you're a gym leader, champion, protagonist, etc. In other regions and it means that you're the strongest trainer in the island
just checked again Nemona's story and Blue describes Neo Champions as: "The idea was to find folks OTHER THAN CHAMPIONS who could be role models for other to measure up against" and of course it feels kinda weird anyways to have the champion giving himself a title
Kind of lame that 2 of them are already champions. They couldn't have chosen someone else? I mean, we got Silver, Cheren and Bianca. And they never were champions before. It's kind of disappointing that they gave the Neo champion title to these guys.
Now if only they'd add Yellow from Pokémon Adventures. I mean, if they're adding characters from the anime, then some of the manga characters should make it in, too!
