Nice touch down …👍🏻
Always wondered why FDR was decommissioned so much earlier than her two sisters, Midway and Coral Sea.
Me too
1:25 dudeman caught a blast of air. Bet that got the heart rate up! 😄
The Midway (CV-41) and the Coral Sea (CV-43) was still serving, why was the FDR (Cv-42) decommissioned early before the other two?
By the late 1970s, the Swanky Franky was in poor material condition. Deprived of the upgrades that Midway and Coral Sea had received, Rosie was the least modern and least capable of the class. Furthermore, the Foo-de-Roo used General Electric turbines, which gave persistent problems and reduced speed compared to the Westinghouse units used on the other ships.
Nice to know info. Worked with both Midway and Coral Sea during my career. Funny note: Gas turbines used by the Navy for the last 50 years are made by GE. OSCS(SW) USN RET'D 1978-2002
Good landing.

I’ll give him a (LULX-IM) and add DLAR Concur with everything else. Definitely a NO GRADE.
