Agreed - I fear that the generosity of games table makers to youtubers, giving free tables to review and keep, means we hear rather too much enthusiasm for them. To be fair, at least Michael does make an attempt at criticism in this video, but that's not easy to find in other videos.
Having used my dining room table for years, and as someone that often keeps games set up (hence the Warhammer always behind me lol) I've found it huge to have an actual game table available. Also as someone with larger games, almost every dining room table I see is not wide enough, with the width being the particularly hard part to resolve since most all dining room tables are meant for 1 person on each short end and rarely will those go 44" or more :( That's the 3 main reasons I feel that one can be worth it, assuming the money is not an issue (they are expensive). Saving games, dedicated space, and larger width. The price though, is why I was sad to see saran wrap and flimsy boxes used.
Backed the Megan on their first campaign and I'm really happy with the table. Being in Europe the delivery was done really well. Also I can confirm that the outer rail accessories are working really nice. They are sturdy and very practical. Love the small tablespace for manuals or boxes and off course the cup holders. I also have a box to store the leaves in when I'm using the table, it stores them vertically which is pretty efficient. And for a gaming table it looks nice as a normal dining room table. Love it.
I Backed the Bristol Plus table from GeekNSon and had it delivered back in April and I have nothing but great things to say. They had a delivery team come and deliver the table and set it up for a little extra charge. So If this is an option for all future tables or at least from their Kickstarters I would pay the extra charge.
I'm very happy with my full size Megan... USA, east coast. Delivery cardboard was roughed but the table itself in perfect shape. Can be interesting attaching the leg bolts due to angle. But very sturdy. Accessory rails work great. No gap in my full size table. The inner plexi makes a great addition if using paper maps and dry erase markers. The spill drainage system does work, just get as much up as possible first. Worth mentioning that the eaves have a slight slant to them. That's intentional so that water will roll to the side wells of the table, but will affect you if you are trying to play on top. My suggestion is save up and get a size large enough for your needs. I got the largest, and can set up two midsize games at once with no problems, with inner rails and that token eave to split the table.
Quality looks fantastic and, as I mentioned before, the company is only about 40 miles from where I live. However, I have taken over my ex-wife's sewing room, which has a 72" X 32" table built in, with drawers underneath. Perfect as a gaming table and storage for terrain, unbuilt models etc. It has made such a difference to my ability to get games played and still paint on a daily basis, the painting table being the dining table!
As far as damage for table, sorry to hear. My table I must have lucked out on as no issues on my end getting it shipped to Canada (so basically same issues as US...at least for KS). Your points on slower response I notice other KS backers and even some communication on my end was a bit delayed. Though I think following through eventually everyone did get their items sorted for KS for most part. One note: They wanted to send their own staff/team to all places during the KS to give "White Glove" experience they ran into various issues they talked about on their KS updates. Long story short between COVID and laws of entry to various countries it ended up not being viable. This White Glove service within Europe is likely why things handled much better on that side.
Than you for this video. To bad you got a bare bone version of this with no extra stuff. Im in on the Gwen Medium with a few extras. That should be big enough to play Frosthaven or similar side games. I took the 4 elevator sticks, so you can set up the table flash instead of having a vault all the time. Also a litte Box that holds all the leafs when the table is open. The Gwen has no under the table solution. They are very proud of the "Pro fabric" surface they use on the Gwen.
I want a table for gaming, but my fear is spills. I cant imagine having my favourite game set up below and during supper a whole drink gets spilled between the slats. Forget it. Table flip! Instant regret.
Hey KoA, Glad your enjoying the table, for those wondeirng about the accessories for the table I did a review on the majority you can possibly get with it...including a spot to put your cat on (though no I didn't have a cat to do that). Can be seen here for those looking:ua-cam.com/video/rxnek5ci-Ec/v-deo.html I can also confirm I bought the Large version of the table when this Table and Wyrmwood modular table was both on KS and super excited I got this table.
Oh I forgot the Cat Accessory my cam cut off so I did a short video of just that one here: ua-cam.com/video/jfZISDQhBFE/v-deo.html I have to say its a game table accessory I never thought would exist and now I own one lol
@@TheKingofAverage I believe you could choose between what height you wanted if refering to Dining or Pub Height. I actually had to get new chairs as my old table was Pub Height. Honestly one of the coolest things is 1000% getting a bench with it as I store all the accessories in it. I even have more space still but since I have a large chunk of accessories it nicely fits inside the bench.
After spending years watching these types of videos, im convinced that purchasing a proper dining room table is the only answer.

I agree it's really hard if you play big games, and play games often. no table is wide enough. @@TheKingofAverage

Nice! Agreed, get the largest size you can fit really. More space just means less cramped regardless of games played.

I wish I was able to see the Gwen stuff for you guys to compare to Game Theory Tables. It looks nice certainly :)
I really prefer the Rathskellers tables.
I will look into those!
Do you know what you can use that table for?
Standing on!

i tried the rail system at Pax Unplugged and it seems like the accessories catch a lot on the rail. does anyone else have this experience?
It can do that if you slide them yeah.
@@TheKingofAverage is that a negative? Seems like Wyrmwood's also does the same

No is the correct answer.
The table I’d want is over $3000 I wouldn’t use this company due to the damage possible and their resolution
