Say what you will about Geldra, but their staunch "anti-stairs" policy in their bases have led to the most fit henchmen of any evil organization around.
Interesting...to make it more challenging they give you a bonus for bullets at the end of a level and don’t let them carry over to the next level, just giving you a starting quota.
NOt bad. NEver got to play it, but I was lucky my brother got our folks to buy us Rolling Thunder 3 for the Sega genesis. Now THAts one of the best games I ever played and it looks great and has the most killer, awesome soundtrack.
Both Arcade and Sega Mega Drive have their unique gameplay.Miss that flamethrower weapon that you could pick up for that robot boss battle on MD.Still like that soundtrack of both versions.
I wonder what a modern remake of this franchise would be like. At the very least, I would love for Albatross and/or Leila to become playable characters in a future _Tekken_ game, probably on a mission to go take down or out Heihachi and/or Kazuya Mishima or something. Anyway, nice playthrough.
Well she was ignored in Namco World Stadium 1999 which had an all girls Namco All-Stars team (as well as male team), she was ignored in Namco X Capcom, and she was ignored in Project X Zone 1 & 2 on 3DS so I dont think thats happening ever.
@@budgiecat9039: I guess it's going to take somebody at Bandai Namco skimming through their gigantic catalog of classic video games and stumbling across the _Rolling Thunder_ series and being interested in it to get a reboot or brand-new appearances greenlit.
@@budgiecat9039: To be fair, the _ActRaiser_ series is considered a cult classic among gamers that grew up in the 16-bit era like myself. Personally, I've never played the series, but most video game magazines of the past have generally looked at the series with critical praise.
lol this game's ending makes no sense, but that's how it was back in the day. Also anyone else notice the stage order made no sense either? Like at the end of one stage where you're on top of a submarine, but the very next stage you're in the middle of the desert in Egypt? lol
It seems that they killed the big boss and then took the terrorists Space Shuttle (which you see at the beginning destroying satellites) to escape their lair, presumably it was on a fixed launch program so they had to go into orbit before landing.....or it was a flight into space for a Bond moment........ ;-)

First impression: This looks like it plays choppy, with better graphics than the original but with worse gameplay. I checked it out because I enjoy the original but didn't know there was a sequel until it was just released on switch by HAMSTER arcade archives. Looks like I will pass or at least emulate before I decide if I will buy. I think Code Name: Viper on NES may be a superior spiritual sequel.

I love these rolling thunder games
Me too
I wish Namco would revive the series but i doubt they ever would.
Hoping on a remake soon.😎
i remember beating this game on the Genesis
Sunset Riders was the perfect co-op in this genre
Indeed. Love that game

Rolling Thunder has been ultimately replaced with Time Crisis.
I love this game ,btw nice trick to defeat gimdo!!!
Never played this one, I adored the original 1986 game though.
The arcade version are awesome.
Music sounds a lot more cheerful than the first Rolling Thunder game, despite all the violence.
I played the mega drive version of this game.
Hard game. This is one you need to be good at right from the first level.
On my channel Squirrel1139 I recently completed Silent Hill 2, what PS1 or PS2 game should I play next?
Human Spongebob and Claire from Resident Evil 2 take on a terrorist organization
Somehow your profile picture matches the pose the green statues make at 1:14 lol
Edit: Wow he really is 100% rocking the SpongeBob outfit
So... the arcade game doesn't have all those animation cutscenes from the Genesis port? The ending is completely different as well

Albatross and leyla follow the submarine of gimdo to giza(egypt)...all the story is in rt2 for sega genesis

What it would be like if they made a third rolling thunder 3 it would be good
They did make a third Rolling Thunder, it was a Sega Genesis exclusive.
Caution:
If even a single gun shot or grenade hits you, your day is done for!
Hmmmm... Interesting that the bubbles from the blue bio suit guy didn't harm you in stage 3....
Along with the bullets they walked through in round 7 🤔

Albatross doesn't look as hot as on the artwork to the first game. BLONDES IN RED SWEATERS. Not even once.

where are the boss fights?
Crazy how Albatross ends up being a supporting character IN HIS OWN GAME. 🙄
Considering how devilishly hard his last mission was, the man deserves a break. Besides, Leila's looking for some serious payback against these guys.
Only extra life at 100000 points?

There is a 3,only for sega genesis.

Game good..
Just like Terminator Redemption

Not as fluid as Rolling Thunder (1).
It is just me? but I prefer the Sega Genesis version better.
This aged very badly.
Information is cut off. People live better.
RT 2 is an absolut ugly copy from the great Part 1!!
Terrible game
Not terrible at all, but will test your reflexes and patience as the game is pretty hard.
