🌙 ABOUT ME 🌙
Hi! My name is Alice and I love books! I read just about everything from classics to contemporary fiction to all kinds of non-fiction, and love reviewing, recommending and just generally having a chat about literature. I currently live in Oslo, Norway.

Your flip-flopping between "you shouldn't keep a book just for its cover" and "I'm going to keep this because I like the cover" was entertaining.
The eternal struggle :P
Sometimes it just makes sense and sometimes it doesn't haha
I laughed when you said, "Maybe I should let this one go" about Never Let Me Go. A little bit of unintentional humor.
I came here to say this same thing, lol.
I loved seeing your gorgeous shelves. It’s always so challenging and yet rewarding to do a book purge.
I've said it before but I'm going to say it again: You have some of the best editions of books ever and if there's one person on YT whose shelves I envy, it's yours!
That said, you are a much, much stronger person than I am, because I'd have kept almost every book because of how pretty it looked, or how it was a part of a collection and I can't split collections, or some other self justifying reason lol
Watching your annual Book Purge videos is somehow comforting.
Omg the way I just squealed when I saw this 😂🥰 These book purges are my absolute favourite comfort videos
Yaaay :D
Loved this. Very entertaining. I always like to see peoples logic behind which books to unhaul.
It used to pain me to unhaul unread books but now it is easier.
My system is this..
No unread book can live on my shelves for more than 2 years.
As for read books, those I sort through annually. If I will never reread it, it goes.
I'm just re-reading The Starless Sea for the 5th time and I have to tell you that if you want ✨cosy vibes✨, it delivers 😄A lot of people didn't like it because it's structured like a fairy tale video game, with interludes and stories woven into a puzzle, and you have to figure out how all the pieces fit together and who the characters are, and just enjoy the writing style, but the characters are not very developed because... they're meant to be video game characters. It has incredible world building and having followed you for years, I'm 90% sure you're going to love it. It's an autumn book at heart, even though I'm reading it now, but it's perfect for whenever you feel like escaping to an underground library.
These are my favorite videos!🤩
Your library is so beautiful Alice ! It is a candy for the eyes.💚💚💚💚💚
I don't purge books any more. When I had more disposable income, I bought books 📚 constantly and would read them and donate them to the library. But now, I make more thoughtful purchases and keep them all. When I think of all the books I've discarded, it causes a great deal of remorse. I am also relying more on the library, when I need new inspiration.
your editions are so pretty! and i love how everything is displayed
I love your book purge video❤
I’m going to try and convince you to keep The Toymakers. It’s sooooo good! I read it every winter. Always 5 stars. C’mon just pop it back on the shelf. 😂
Maybe I just can't find it but if you didn't, could you film a physical tbr? 🤓 Love seeing so many favorites on your shelves and what I love even more is seeing peoples tbr's to see what of my favorites they read hehe
ahhh, your library is AMAZING! Loved going through all the books you have instead of just showing what you got rid of as many others are doing [nothing wrong with that, I just enjoyed this format much more]
I don't like to keep too many unread books on hand and I had a couple that hit the 2 year mark recently. My rule was supposedly one year, lol. I finally just gave them away and I feel so much better. It's strictly the library from here on out!
I really like watching a good bookpurge. I wish I lived near you and could go to that market, you've donated so many beautiful and interesting books!
Here to leave my anual comment "I love you Book Purge videos, please never stop doing them".❤
You have the most stunning shelves
Hello from France! Just found your channel and really enjoyed this video and book collection 🙂
When I suddenly saw The Song of Achilles on your shelf I was like: 😮Your books are so aesthetic I swear to God they’re so pretty❤
Love your book purge videos ❤ adding the Norwegian classic to my tbr now that its in English 😊
I was scrolling my feed looking for something to watch and relax…and here it is! Alice’s new video! ❤️
This makes me so happy!
Oooh, ❤ me another of Alice's 📚 unhauls... simply the best! And supporting your local school 🥰 Do read Piranesi, sure you will 💜it.
And I really need to do one too, so extra big thanks 🌼🌹🌼 and 🖤💜 gloriously gruesome Marvin 🦅
Invisible Women is a definite must read! Love your collection!
Didn’t like Lolita, loved Ma’lenka!
I definitely feel like recommending it to you, if you ever want to give Nabokov another try :) love your house so much, I would love to have such a dark Academia vibe in mine 💔
You have such a wonderful collection of books.
hi Alice! omg Piranesi is one of my favorite books!
I was so disappointed in The Toy Makers, it’s so pretty but unhauling it is definitely the right choice
Your shelving is somewhat mysterious. Not the sets and series, but the random genres.
I love your beautiful books. Wish i was nearer to you so that i could snatch this unhaul
I am doing a purge too... have about 25 books to sell to the book store. I'd love to sell on Pango but I'm going to be moving soon unfortunately... so I need more cash and less books lol
No one does these videos like you 😍
Hi I'm new here I have tree questions just out of interest
1. How many languages do you speak?
2. How many unread books do you own?
3. What is your favorite book from your favorite genre?
Hi! Welcome! I speak two languages fluently :) Don't know the number on unread books unfortunately, but my favorite book is The Secret History
Love all the way from Bangkok Thailand. X
💖
Everytime I watch your videos trying to figure out how you category your books but remember you said once, there's not a system. Lol I still try
Amazing hair today Alice 🙌
Yay, I love your book purges! You got rid of a decent amount! I´m wondering since you have your TBR mixed in with all your books - do you track it somewhere or do you just remember all your unread books and where they are? :)
I just keep track in my brain and remember xD
I have tried several of his books, and I am coming to the realization that Murakami isn't my vibe. I disliked Norwegian Wood and hated IQ84.
I feel the same way about Lolita. I didn’t even give it away, I tossed it. 🤢
I’d be interested in a cook book video, recommendations, some mentions how it worked or did not work out for you etc. just an idea of course //
Have you considered a shelf just for your Penguin books?
You should try Red Winter Journey by Paul Rushworth-Brown
RIP Less, my favorite book of 2022 T_T
This was just her mostly talking about books she’s going to keep 😂
I noticed that most of your collection has different language titles. What type of languages are they in?
English and Norwegian :D
@@TheBookCastle that is so awesome that you can read Norwegian. I always wanted to learn a different language!
Im a poor reader. Id like to donate those books to me
From all Nabokov’s book, I also don’t like Lolita.
4:04 I read The Remains of the Day by that author... so acclaimed... Nobel Prize... and BORING AS **** 😴 That one is getting sold!
These are my favorite videos!🤩
