I once had a cut on my hand, moderately deep. At the hospital, 3 different people came to look at it, pulling it apart a bit every time to "get a closer look". It went from "nah, won't need to stitches" to "might need stitches" to "definitely needs stitches".
I often mix up Hal Cruttenden and Gary Delaney. Nice to see them share a stage. They made each other and Miles Jupp laugh. We Brits should really appreciate the abundance of comedy talent our country produces. Where I live, they would kill to have a Cruttenden, Delaney or a Jupp. The UK has all three - and many, many more. Must be something in the water.
I don't think they diagnose a problem really... just Flee-Flaw about a bit until either an election is coming up, or there are too many people whining about something. Then they act.
*Mock the Week* (Season 12, Episode 8; 12 September 2013) Presenter: Dara O'Briain Team #1: Andy Parsons (captain), Hal Cruttenden, & Miles Jupp. Team #2: Alastair McGowan, Hugh Dennis (captain), Gary Delaney.
@@shmookins It may interest you know that in the trade, the glass piece that forms the important part of a spirit level, enclosed in glass within a solid frame, is known as "the bubble". Cos that's what it is. I learned that from watching The Repair Shop.
Can someone explain Delaneys last joke? Either I can't hear what he is saying or it is a british (english language thing)... Would love to understand it. :)
He said he did a poo and there was a little blood in it. Some youngsters sometimes address each other as ‘blood’ . I think it’s a Caribbean thing originally. So he said ‘Oi bruv get out of there innit.” Or something like that.
"Blood" (or "blud") is an expression meaning friend. The comedy is a white middle class middle aged man using black youth slang, and playing on blood/blud.
This show seems like an English/Irish version of "Whose Line is it Anyway?," but with a bit of journalistic commentary thrown in as well. It's really weird. Nice & enjoyable, but weird.
@@Jerrymouse79 it's odd, though-this isn't the first comment i've seen to make the connection. for me, the shows are reminiscent of each other partly because of the overlap between live comedy and funny improv, and partly because of the grainy video quality and similar-looking background. or maybe it's just that american shows don't tend to have formats like this, so americans are all reenacting the "guy who has only seen boss baby" meme.
"Daddy, these are all Ls"
"Yea it's Welsh"
Lol 😂
I came here for Gary Delaney but the builders set was brilliant.
Really? I didn’t even crack a smile. Gary had me laughing though.
I came for Gary but Hal surprised me. I've watched this 10 times and it hasn't stopped me from laughing. They were both brilliant.
"I came for Gary but Hal surprised me." That's what the builder's wife said.
Pure genius from two of my favourite comedians.

Ex Essex love it when Miles laughs
I agree. We can list top shelf UK comedians all day!
Tea Leaves.
Or something not in the water. UK don't fluoridate their water supply.
@@beefwell3566 yeah there is
Wow. Two excellent sets xD
Love Gary Delaney
builder set is a piece of pure genoius
“No other job diagnoses the problem, then makes it worse.”
Politics, anyone?
Politicians aren't all that good at diagnosing the problems, though.
Some car mechanics
I don't think they diagnose a problem really... just Flee-Flaw about a bit until either an election is coming up, or there are too many people whining about something. Then they act.
Well if you're gonna bring that up!😳
this has not aged well.
This is one of the best two comic sets so far. I am glad they both got points (even though I know they don't mean a thing)
Garey can give Milton Jones and Steward Francis a run for their money😄
“It’s massive! innit mate?”😂😂😂
4:19 The best bit is Gary breaking up himself :D
Hal Cruttenden’s piece was awesome :D
The pieces I understood were hilarious. Both comedians did a great job and I LOL'd a lot :-D
Some comedy bits are worth seeing over again! 😂
It's ok.. his wife was dreaming that too.
Either we've got the exact same taste in UA-cam videos or Ive literally just seen your channel everywhere!
That moment of "im gonna be in trouble with the family again" was golden
2 different but brilliant styles of comedy
Gary is great.
Surprised the builder didn't come and finish off Hal's set!

Thanks
We need a montage of every set Gary says he's going to get in trouble with the family
Gotta love one liners
They don't sniff around!
2nd guy takes it a the end.
Ha Ha that's what builders are like
1:59 What does he mean by "the beauty of the bubble and the spirit life"? Or did I hear it wrong?
Shadow Heart he is referring to the bubble in the spirit level
The beauty of the bubble in the spirit level. (A tool with a bubble in a glass tube full of liquid, which builders use to tell if something is level.)
He is referring to the spirit level which is a tool for seeing how flat a shelf is
@@danielsavage6078 Thank you. I had no idea that tool had that name.

Ginger's a race? hahaha.
A collective with distinct qualities - race definition so yeah gingers are a race.

British English??? You mean English eh?

Diagnosing a problem and then making it worse?
Casino operators.
That's why jokes are funnier than observational comedy
No sound...
great sets the pair of them - apart from that last joke has not aged well
I didnt get gary's first joke
Walk the plank: method of execution at sea.
Taking a plank of wood for a walk, instead of a dog
Dr auctly do at times make it worse to diagnose
I didn't know ginger was a race?????????
😂😝🤣
👍👍
This is indeed what these builders do, worldwide I think. These pieces of crap.
doctors test your balance by trying to knock you over
Gary lost a bit of weight and now looks a bit like a cousin from the adams.family
These somehow don't see. As instantaneous as they claim. Still awesome though!

No it’s not. That’s improv. Mock The Week is satire and stand up.

I can't understand what the hard boiled egg says. He's all gummy, all I can hear is potatos.
And here’s the link to the Harry and Paul video where Hal Cruttenden nicked his builder jokes from ua-cam.com/video/Gq6WME576ZE/v-deo.html
When Mock The Week was funny. Before the feminists and the woke took over.
Gary and Stewart aren't funny. They just tell stupid one-line puns. The others are more traditional stand-up comics.
