Hi Reanne and Ben, China nowadays is a beast of country, I've started visiting China decades back and have witnessed developments I have not witnessed elsewhere including inside the US. Well, my 1st trip to China wasn't pleasant back in the 90s to Shenzen and Guangzhou when buses have no air conditioning with dusts flying into the bus, very little paved roads and toilets were unheard of. Bushes were our toilets and even if you can find one, it was made with wooden planks. (Do keep in mind decent toilet condition is still a challenge if you are visiting into deeper rural areas today) Needless to say I was disappointed but in 2002 I went to Shanghai and Qingdao for business and noticed improvements. Didn't know back then Chinese business ethics during dinner was we as guests or business clients must not be allowed to finish foods on the table, the host will keep replenishing food till we couldn't eat and there must be leftovers which shows the hospitality of the host. In 2006 I was in Shanghai again for business, definitely noticed much more developments but was still behind many Asian countries then came my 2018 trip, 12 years gap and I couldn't believe my eyes, that was like day and night, people, buildings, infrastructures..........what really amazed me was the fact that few months before Shanghai I was in Texas US. There was no comparisons between those 2 cities, Shanghai was so modern, clean, organized and well managed, important thing I was so at ease and felt safe in Shanghai as compared to Texas and there were certain places I was advised not to go alone in Texas. Last year 2024, I visited China twice in April and Oct, actually canceled my Europe travel in Oct to go China again to different provinces and in a few days time (February 2025) I will be visiting China again. What interests me about China now is I love to witness and experience different lifestyles of 56 different ethnicity of Chinese people, yes many people thought there's only 1 type of Chinese people in China but never thought they are 56 different ethnicity. I was amazed with Miao and Tujia ethnic groups so far, knowing their history, how they lived for thousands of years with their own cultures, natural medicines, spiritual practices in the mountains and valleys. China is indeed so different, my policy is only when you feel safe, you can explore.
@, agreed. It was during his tenure developments expedited and development aside, President Xi also successfully exercising anti corruption campaigns which countries around the world found extremely difficult to do. It's not 100% free of corruptions but worked well in reducing it tremendously. Credit too to Deng Xiao Peng, for having the vision of opening up to the world in 1978 and his guts for implementing that. Truly believe it was their Meritocracy system which made them successful, leaders have to prove their results before even given a chance to manage bigger districts, provinces or the entire country while many other countries practiced Plutocracy, which brings them further down.
I am studying in Chicago, and this is definitely the dumbest decision I have ever made. There are all kinds of addicts in the city center at night, and I dare not go out without driving. It is almost 8 pm now, and I am very hungry. I can't even order takeout if I want to eat. Even if I order takeout, it takes two hours to arrive, and the price is very expensive. I still live in a house in the city center, and now I can only eat some potato chips and snacks. The supermarket is also closed, and I just hope to graduate and leave here as soon as possible
Thank you for your positive reports on China. I hope you are happy every day in China. China is about to enter the Spring Festival holiday. From now until the end of the holiday, the roads will be very busy and all tourist attractions will be crowded. Please understand and considerate.
Yeah that’s one of the great job done by the government few years back, they called elimination of poverty, they announced this plan 10 years ago to help the west part of China transformed, because the west part of China is not close to water and they have had been in poverty for so many years. China’s plan is to renovate all the villages to be a tourist attraction point and get everyone to have a nice decent job, what you seen is just a part of this plan, the tunnels and highways on the way was a part of it. And China finished this plan within 5 years, was a very amazing project in human history and the UN even introduced it as a guideline to the world to have more countries to study it.
I never expected you to organize such in-depth trips. Even many Chinese people may not have the chance to visit such beautiful local destinations. Thank you for your work! Please keep it up and continue taking us on journeys across the vast landscapes of China.
@@wenfeng your welcome 🙏 keep watching us we’re trying to make the best videos we can. We’re really putting the effort in. Really glad you enjoyed it 😊
what you guys experienced are the fruits of china's poverty alleviation project to connect every village with roads and provide electricity and connectivity to every corner of china. this allowed small villages in the middle of nowhere a chance to sell their local goods or promote tourism. I think minorities like the ones you visited benefitted more than others since they offer a display of their culture to the majority han chinese who make up the bulk of domestic tourism. as early as just half a century ago, many of these more remote minority villages were some of the poorest parts of china.
I am one of those who experienced it. In the past 10 years, the XI order has guaranteed the right to life of every poor person (mainly in the rural areas of the central and western regions) (mainly mentally disabled, poor due to illness, lonely elderly), that is, the poverty alleviation campaign. The specific guarantees are: a minimum subsistence allowance, free repairs to their houses, water, electricity, food, roads, interest-free loans. The enforcement process was extremely rigorous, mobilizing nationwide efforts and holding local officials directly accountable for any failure to meet standards. It was a huge shock to me.I went from skeptic to total advocate.

About what you drink: 三清方( Sanqing Fang) is a white fungus-based beverage, with white fungus (also known as Tremella) as its main ingredient. Rooted in the tradition of imperial cooling remedies, it uses a pure, natural recipe. It is combined with nutritious ingredients such as lotus seeds, lily bulbs, bamboo fungus, and Buddha's hand to create a soup or dessert. With its mild nature-neither overly cooling nor heating-it is suitable for people of all constitutions across both northern and southern regions. This drink helps to dispel summer heat or alleviate throat discomfort caused by dryness in winter.
