My 2 roosters are protective of their girls, positive; the hogs are free range, can side up to you one day, and it's like trying to herd cats the next! I think you did right to get rid of the scoundrel from the trip. Be interesting to see how they settle back down without her. Take care.

Raising livestock can be so great but when they become more of a chore than what they provide it’s time for them to go. Your homestead sounds great!
