    I have no musical training, and stumbled on this tutorial in hopes of trying to figure out some of this song's chords to get this down on my acoustic guitar. I was beyond impressed by the ease at which you speak this foreign language of music so fluently! I know, hard to go wrong with the incomparable Burt Bacharach, but damn, David. Your knowledge and playing are stunning.

      Yes we’re all still learning. When you’re watching any of my tutorials and you come across a term I used that you don’t understand, most likely your find an early video I produced that explains that term in detail. All the best with your music.

      Please be aware that my tutorials are not intended to show you how to play a particular song. There are many options available to you on UA-cam, ranging from beginning to advanced for most songs. What I explain is the theory behind the creation of the song. No time for crying, just time for playing. 😎

    Not a tutorial at all

    • @davidburtstudio
      @davidburtstudio  3 роки тому +1

      Beg to differ. It is a tutorial on analyzing the harmony and structure of the music. Not to be confused with “how to play the song”.

  • @peeteedee7
    @peeteedee7 7 років тому

    That's not at tutorial. You are just waisting our time. You are only playing the song and talking while doing it. You need to slow it down, and show us, how to play it
    Sincerly, Peter

    • @davidburtstudio
      @davidburtstudio  7 років тому +2

      Good day Peter. It’s always great to receive feed back. Positive or negative. The subject matter on my video was not; how to play the song, but rather analyzing the harmonic structure of the music. I do not produce “HOW TO PLAY A SONG” tutorials. If the subject matter was not understandable, I would recommend that you check out my other tutorials. Start with: Relationship of Primary Chord Movements: Part 1 & 2. Then proceed to: The Relationship of Secondary Chord Movements in Major, Parts 1, 2, 3, 4. And, then move on to Tonicizaation. For the best learning experience, I strongly suggest you watch them in order. A tutorial is when one can learn something from another, which I feel took place here.

    • @peeteedee7
      @peeteedee7 7 років тому

      Hey David
      Put isn't it possible for you to make a great "How to play" video? You have the right voice and you can for sure play the piano.
      Hope you will consider making a tutorial,
      Regards

    • @davidburtstudio
      @davidburtstudio  7 років тому

      That’s a fair question Peter. Off the top, if you Google, “How do I play (XXXX) song on the piano”? I have no doubt you’ll get at least a few hits from someone showing you how they put your requested song together. Although these tutorials are helpful, at the same time it’s not the greatest way to learn. When working with my own students, they are shown the various “tools” of how to put the information together. The goal down the road is that they will have the knowledge to play the song the way they feel it should go. I use this same approach on my distant learning students as well. Bottom line; if I were to do a “How To” video” What level do I use? Easy Play, or Difficult? I couldn’t begin to satisfy everyone’s needs.

    • @davidburtstudio

      Well Peter, as I mentioned before I don't do "how to play a song tutorials", for reasons already stated. However, I went up on line I found one for you. Just click on the link I've provided. It's not a difficult arrangement and its played slowly so you should be able to follow it okay. Remember you can always pause the video when needed. www.google.ca/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwiy8Lj7q9_VAhVk9IMKHYOWAzMQyCkIKjAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DdA1oICRA-6E&usg=AFQjCNEWkWgBVyeIoPAK8SMbOQtKYLfaSg
