    • @usainphelps1491

      Sprint more. The more you sprint the more stronger your muscles get and the fast twitch parts get activated and the more you do that the harder and faster they'll be able to contract equaling more force to the ground. Just sprint more it's basic

But for you my friend as a cross country runner that is the body shape you should and will have for the rest of your running career. Just eat a lot of protein, do weights and work on your slow twitch muscles by doing lots of distance and stamina work. Dont worry about size as that will only make you lose energy quicker.

    I ran 11.85 on hella loose dirt, like in between sand and dirt, with running shoes (not spikes) and without blocks. So if I add a rubber track, spikes, blocks how fast could I run?

      Probably 0.2-0.5 seconds faster. Depends on how big of an advantage blocks give you. I'm a really good starter and dominate with blocks but with just a standing start, I get dusted. If you're like me, then blocks alone might shave off 0.4-0.5 seconds by themselves.

      not .2-.5
      If he practices his starts of a lot with the blocks and spikes(take of .2) easily plus running on track is so much easier

    I'm a 14 year old male and in Scotland the average height of a male is 5'8 - 5'9 and I'm only 5'4 so although I am not as good at anything more than 800m I am a lot better than my taller opponents at sprinting in 100m, 200m and I am suprisingly quite good at the long jump. But I think one of my favourite things about athletics is that no matter what height you always have a good chance of achieving you goal.

    being tall is an advantage those long legs will let you win

    • @BboyJJRuda
      @BboyJJRuda 8 років тому +90

      Ideally speaking yes, but remember tall and long legs means a lot more weight to carry and more force required in order to maintain a high speed. That's why Usain Bolt is such a freak of nature because no tall individual can run that fast. Combined with his long stride length it's the reason why he's dominated the sport.
