@@Dom-py2ow I think the issue there was he was older and tired after a big season of fast running. He should off won that race but he simply looked like a race too far. He opened up the season to early sadly.
Just a tip, to put more force into the ground, use the ball of your foot (joint between big toe and foot), because putting your entire foot on the ground takes time and will just make your leg/ankle angle messed up for taking another step ASAP.
I've been running since I was 7 I want to be a Olympic sprinter I did 3 competitions this week I got 4 first places 1 third and one 4th I was against people older than me My message here is never give up

Found out that I'm much better at distance running (400m, 800m, 1600m). I did very well, beating my personal record by 10 seconds for the 800m and 7 seconds for the 1600m.
Max Francisco I wanted to be a sprinter but did middistance. I ran the 400,800 and 1 mile relay which is of course the 400 again. I also did long jump was probably the worst in are conference
+squareboy33 Theres no reason to be mad about that.. he didnt say that at all.. And yes, there is alot of black sprinters. Maybe he was just over exadurating with the word "all" , when he really means alot.
Sprint more. The more you sprint the more stronger your muscles get and the fast twitch parts get activated and the more you do that the harder and faster they'll be able to contract equaling more force to the ground. Just sprint more it's basic
Tyler Alexander Martinez And when he says force into the ground he doesn't mean slamming your leg against the ground he means pushing off as hard as you can off the ground
its about building the strength and power in ur muscles, but also being about to do it quickly with minimal contact time. in order to do that, youve gotta train to be strong but remain light. my coach is all about that power/weight ratio.
His advice is nothing but Newton's third law of motio.." Action and reaction are equal and opposite in direction"..Harder we try to move earth backward more the earth pushes us forward..Simple physics
Same with me but i sprint and grow muscles but i dont put on any meat. Im 13 and 5,11, i eat more than any of my friends but when i train i only put on muscle mass and no meat. But for you my friend as a cross country runner that is the body shape you should and will have for the rest of your running career. Just eat a lot of protein, do weights and work on your slow twitch muscles by doing lots of distance and stamina work. Dont worry about size as that will only make you lose energy quicker.
Oreo Biscuit I took off 1.2 seconds on my 100m dash by adding about 80 lbs to my squat and 50 lbs to my power clean. I also did some plyometrics but I didn't do any sprint training whatsoever.
Will not forget him and usain bolt basically having fun and joking around in that race while the others were going full-out sprinting. Definitely one of the most enjoyable moments in sports
Only because Bolt will be retired. Also you never know, some kid who's 15 right now might be the next big sprinter when he turns 19 and surprises people at the next olympics
Trayvon Brommel can take him in the 100 and there's a good chance wayd van nekerik (I know it's spelled wrong) will swing down to the 200 and challenge him
I ran 11.85 on hella loose dirt, like in between sand and dirt, with running shoes (not spikes) and without blocks. So if I add a rubber track, spikes, blocks how fast could I run?
Probably 0.2-0.5 seconds faster. Depends on how big of an advantage blocks give you. I'm a really good starter and dominate with blocks but with just a standing start, I get dusted. If you're like me, then blocks alone might shave off 0.4-0.5 seconds by themselves.

Ideally speaking yes, but remember tall and long legs means a lot more weight to carry and more force required in order to maintain a high speed. That's why Usain Bolt is such a freak of nature because no tall individual can run that fast. Combined with his long stride length it's the reason why he's dominated the sport.
