Prob going to fix it on a few patches as still early access. On pc it's janky too and doesn't look like my cup of tea . Hopefully some people support it as game Devs need as much help as possible these days.
To be fair, this game started out being developed by 1 guy when it first came out. The fact that the team grew enough to even make a PSVR2 version, is astonishing. It also runs on unity, which is hot garbage.
Phasmophobia is the game I go back to the most in VR. It does VR better than 95% of games actually made for VR. It looks REALLY GOOD and the lighting is great. There's jank there but there is jank in like 99% of the VR games. I can't say anything for the Playstation version. But I would say Phasmophobia in VR on PC is one of the best VR games that you can play. I do notice that after every big update the VR becomes jankier than normal but they tend to iron out the jank eventually. The devs really should hire a VR enthusiast to keep quality control on their VR gameplay because it's ever fluctuating, being secondary. But all that being said, it's STILL one of the best VR games with the most replayability that there ever has been in the history of VR.
Agreed, they started as a VR game, but it got it's real popularity from non-VR play. Personally we just embrace the jank, and have fun with it. They are a really small company and I keep waiting for the day that they no longer support VR. I am very happy they keep the support up and fix the bugs when they can.
Damn I thought about buying this tonight to. Thanks for the review. I will wait for it to be fixed. Who knows how long that will take. Why do so many psvr2 games do this. They just get horrible reviews and I'm sure some ppl will never buy it because of that
shame because playing with quest 3 on pc through virtual desktop is one of my favorite VR experiences, especially after a recent patch where they fixed the character movement stutter. I'm able to push max settings at native quest 3 resolution at 72 fps using VDXR on a 5700x 3080 build. I'm shocked it seems to be this poor. Maybe they have analytics on psvr 2 and thought its not worth putting time into? hopefully it'll improve over time
@@Jkvrvids Batman has multi millions of $ thrown at it with a big dev studio. Vs a couple of indie devs with hardly any budget! Big deference don’t you think? Why do you even use that as an example? Totally ridiculous statement!!!
Head based turning with snap turns on the right stick is what I always use, works fine even for fast games like RE4. Panning the camera with the right stick adds more motion on top of the left stick, so snap turns with head movement is more comfortable and hides a lower frame rate IMO. There should be the choice though.
The doors are like that on PC too tbf and many people can't use their mics either, its been an issue for years, they clearly implemented a feature that they didn't really know how to properly implement.
Not really. This will get fixed in patches (eventually). It's pretty obviously broken in VR because VR is a lower priority for the developer, and they've pushed the game out into early access for Halloween before it was ready. Whereas Hitman Reloaded is a VR only game and the problems with it would require a rewrite, not just patches.
It wasn't delayed solely for PSVR2. Delays happened for a couple different reasons. That being said, it doesn't look great. I play on PC, so I'll be skipping this on the VR2
You can use your mic, that’s what the Walky talk is for on your belt. And you can turn instantly if you flick down quick on the right analog stick. The biggest pain is I can’t carry 3 items as far I know, only two
So to make the game clear, you have to turn on foveated rendering. Now he’s right the controls are a bit Jenkee and the graphics could be way better. But for 20 bucks if you’re playing with friends it’s actually pretty fun. The VR experiences definitely something different ha ha
@ Interestingly though it made the game WAY more clear turning it on for me. And yeah that wierd glitch when you turn it on happens only in the lobby, not in game, at least for me and my friends when playing. The controls glitching is just so annoying. How do you keep delaying a game for a year and still can’t get something basic like easily opening a door.
It's baffling the devs release a game in this state but it's equally as baffling that Sony releases this on their store. Surely there must be some form of QA and verification in place, both on the devs and Sony's side. The disrespect towards gamers lately is just unbelievable. "Yup, this good enough to release, now pay up and give us your money!"
I think your headset isnt adjusted right or something, not sure why yours is blurry mine looks great. The only thing i couldnt figure out is how to put items on my belt.
I think he's referring to the low resolution and textures. They definitely need to work on that. Look at RE4 for example, there is no reason the resolution needs to be so low on this
I don't understand those dev who try to make everything interactive with motion control but make immersion worse. Resident Evil doesn't make us open doors, they open automatically and best gameplay ever.
@@GAMERTAGVR never heard of a fire but maybe. They got a ton of backlash for not having voice recognition back then and even stated they wanted to delay a create an awesome experience for psvr 2. @@sawao_yama thats terrible news but still should've waited until it was on par with pcvr. This is console and could've sold a sht ton more. Wonder how flat plays on ps5?
Coming from playing Phasmo on PC with VR, this is very surprising, I never had any issue with pushing the VR graphics on my modest gaming PC. Game looks very decent on PC, even with my aging Index headset. Seeing other PSVR2 titles I'm pretty sure the console and headset can handle it, likely still needs optimizing. My main gripe with Phasmo VR is its very janky. Very simple actions like opening up the journal, doors and lighting a smudge stick I could never do quickly and reliably. Really affected my game play. On the flip side Phasmo VR is very immersive, I really wish they'd iron this out so more people can experience it when its running like its supposed to.
Guess I'll wait for them to fix it, shame I was looking forward to this one but tank controls, no voice recognition and a myriad of graphical issues mean I'll hold off till these are fixed. Obviously a cash grab trying to get it out for Halloween but they should have just said VR is available as an update later when it's fixed.
Thanks for another great video, I was going to get this for my son. Another let down I seen this week is that the makers of the Propagation VR games are making a new game without VR support, and the game looks like it would be great in VR its called Species: Unknown I just hope we are not losing another great VR Dev. Hope you have a great day, and keep up the great work you do.
Not being able to talk to the ghost is insane. I dont ever use the text option. They should have delayed it again to fix this stuff. I love phasmo. But Kinetic Games....comeon.
Fk that! I’ll pass hard on this! I refuse to support developers who know their game is shit but still releases them. Lazy ass developers resting on hype to carry them. Nope!
Will give it a few patches, hopefully they can at least get it to a half decent state. I doubt it will ever be perfect because it's a janky game anyway but fingers crossed it can be on par with the flat version.
Man, I had to argue for over half an hour with a Sony customer service BOT to get a refund for PSVR2 Into the Radius because it was unplayable sitting down. I couldn't climb ladders or even pick up and reload the gun in the tutorial. I'm glad I held off until reviews for Phasmaphobia. It sounds like we really got the short end of the stick in this port. Maybe a few months from now they'll have fixed it but I'm tired of having to wait for a game to work properly and I won't be buying it. We vote with our wallets, so let them know this isn't acceptable.

While I appreciate content creators who take the 'no bullshit' route and call out problems for what they are, I feel there should be just a little bit of leniency given this is a small dev team and their first project being ported to consoles. This company isn't big like EA or Activision and yet they made a game that is still going strong 4 years later whereas EA and Activision make games that barely stay relatable for more than 3 months If they simply never fix these issues, different story...call them out like any other lazy dev. But if they actually take this feedback and make the necessary fixes, we're looking at a small dev team that puts more effort into their titles than a f*cking multibillion dollar company like EA who prefers to sell the game broken and not give a single shit about it once it hits the shelves.

To be fair, this game started out being developed by 1 guy when it first came out. The fact that the team grew enough to even make a PSVR2 version, is astonishing. It also runs on unity, which is hot garbage.
Phasmophobia devs here. You took the bags from us and didn't praise the game! How could you?! 🤯🤯🤯
Get Wrekd 😂 Tbh GT is the only one willing to do this. And i respect him for it.
If you're actually one of the Devs, this comment actually handles sarcasm perfectly!
@quipsilvervr No I'm not. It would be funny though. 😂
But all that being said, it's STILL one of the best VR games with the most replayability that there ever has been in the history of VR.
heyy is this game better than Madison VR ? PC version of Phasmo obviously
Agreed, they started as a VR game, but it got it's real popularity from non-VR play. Personally we just embrace the jank, and have fun with it. They are a really small company and I keep waiting for the day that they no longer support VR. I am very happy they keep the support up and fix the bugs when they can.
It's a mess plain and simple stop accepting poorly made games.
Typical, making up a percentage. You must play some shit VR games if you think this game does VR better than 95% of them.
Just bought the game with 2500 credits from playstation stars 🌟 ! The game looks scary I hope I can enjoy it still?
Probably rushed out for Halloween
Why this game is the best selling game now and the best rated game by the poeple on the psvr2 right now
Might be the love for the PS5 version
Thanks for the review. I should have checked it before I bought the game.
Maybe they have analytics on psvr 2 and thought its not worth putting time into? hopefully it'll improve over time
This good to read
Looks like an early quest 2 game....embarassing considering how gorgeous batman looks on Quest 3 hardware!
Good thing they spent an extra year and 4 months so it could still suck!
The doors are like that on PC too tbf and many people can't use their mics either, its been an issue for years, they clearly implemented a feature that they didn't really know how to properly implement.
Didnt this get delayed a full freaking year on VR2?
Yep
For 20 bucks though how is it on PS5 if you play without the VR?
So many delays for this?
I think it’s a year late isn’t it
@@GAMERTAGVR Yeah, what were they even doing? Definitely not working on the PSVR2 version.
I’ve just played it, and to be honest, it’s not that bad, maybe they’ve done something with it?
Oh, so PSVR2 has its own "hitman reloaded"...
🥲
@@A540678😢
@@SargonDragon yeah, right, "patches"...
@@Hostile-VR well very simple solution don't buy it unless it gets fixed , it's called voting with your wallet
The game is amazing I had a blast playing this and it’s so much fun the really annoying thing was the moving and turning
Have you tried it since? Mine works fine. I have it set to smooth turning, and movement direction based on controller direction... not head direction
The crazy part is the game was delayed an entire year. Can’t even imagine the state they were willing to push out last Halloween.
The biggest pain is I can’t carry 3 items as far I know, only two
You carry three items in VR too. Just put them on your belt your character wears in VR (where you’ll find the walkie-talkie too)
Is anyone having this problem where your friend is on pc and you can hear them but you're on the psvr2 and they can't hear you
I have mates on pc, audio works fine. Check you mic activation in the settings. There are a few options. I think it's push to talk by default
@@breemstone66 oh no we found out what it was my friend who's on the psvr2 didn't leave our discord chat
So to make the game clear, you have to turn on foveated rendering.
Now he’s right the controls are a bit Jenkee and the graphics could be way better. But for 20 bucks if you’re playing with friends it’s actually pretty fun. The VR experiences definitely something different ha ha
You have to turn OFF foveated rendering
@ Interestingly though it made the game WAY more clear turning it on for me. And yeah that wierd glitch when you turn it on happens only in the lobby, not in game, at least for me and my friends when playing.
The controls glitching is just so annoying. How do you keep delaying a game for a year and still can’t get something basic like easily opening a door.
After all of these delays, man. Ridiculous.
Nooooo! So gutted about this.
Thanks GT trust you 100% thanks for letting us know 👊
It's baffling the devs release a game in this state but it's equally as baffling that Sony releases this on their store.
Look at RE4 for example, there is no reason the resolution needs to be so low on this
How do you turn on the head based movement turning?
I don't understand those dev who try to make everything interactive with motion control but make immersion worse. Resident Evil doesn't make us open doors, they open automatically and best gameplay ever.
isnt it an early access release?
Not good Gt. This game is awesome on pcvr. Such a shame. I thought this was delayed so they could fix voice chat? Wtf did they do?
Is that why they delayed it? I couldn’t remember. Someone said they had a fire or something. Either why I think it needs some time
@@GAMERTAGVR never heard of a fire but maybe. They got a ton of backlash for not having voice recognition back then and even stated they wanted to delay a create an awesome experience for psvr 2. So my thought was since it got so much prior backlash that they would make it right with voice recognition because let's be honest..not having it kills this game. I even praised them for the delay.
@@Vr_Demon_they had a fire, so it set them back.
Without your honest videos my list of Hot garbage psvr2 games were even longer then it already is. Thx for saving my money bro❤
Greetings from Germany
🫡
Console in general doesnt have voice recognition
Guess I'll wait for them to fix it, shame I was looking forward to this one but tank controls, no voice recognition and a myriad of graphical issues mean I'll hold off till these are fixed. Obviously a cash grab trying to get it out for Halloween but they should have just said VR is available as an update later when it's fixed.
They actually release a patch yesterday where most of the stuff is fixed.
I want to watch you play it on the PlayStation 5 VR
I’m so glad I didn’t get a psvr2
?? phasmophobia isnt the only game
I do t think he has any VR headset, look at his name👀😎
LOL
I have x2 quest 3s BTW
@@STEVIWONDER27 nobody cares stop trying to show off
People are raving about how good this is on flatscreen. Hope they can get the VR issues fixed!
i wanna buy it on pc but only for vr... is it worth it?
Thanks for another great video, I was going to get this for my son. Another let down I seen this week is that the makers of the Propagation VR games are making a new game without VR support, and the game looks like it would be great in VR its called Species: Unknown I just hope we are not losing another great VR Dev. Hope you have a great day, and keep up the great work you do.
Im sorry but im glad i dont listen to your video, i spend the night on this with friends it was so fun and awesome !!
Wow yeah without having use of mic what are you even doing. They’re trying to cash in on its popularity with streamers and put out a crappy product
It’s a ps5 limitation stop blaming the devs. Ps5 cannot convert voice to txt, PC can using windows feature
Not being able to talk to the ghost is insane. I dont ever use the text option. They should have delayed it again to fix this stuff.
I love phasmo. But Kinetic Games....comeon.
It’s a ps5 limitation it is not the devs problem. How many vr games do you know with voice recognition? Or even ps5 games?
Other UA-camrs are saying this game is fantastic on the PSVR2, I don't understand.
i wonder if this is because of the psvr2 adapter on pc maybe idk because tracking isnt best on pc still atm
Always with the honesty.
It’s the only thing I can guarantee 😂
Fk that! I’ll pass hard on this! I refuse to support developers who know their game is shit but still releases them. Lazy ass developers resting on hype to carry them. Nope!
Truth GT no audio reaction is a no,no its the main part of a very basic gac game.
🤝
You cant even play seated! Even if its a options for seating playing, it dont work!
Your review is exactly right. Waited for this to release on psvr2. Very bad. I told my son I feel like I'm playing a game made in Recroom. Lol
😂😂 that’s made me smile man. Rec Room 😂
Whoever was incharge of the PSVR2 side of the game must have been ''working from home'' all year
It's their first console port of their first game. Maybe let's cut them some slack. What games release running perfect?
Doors are a natural enemy in most vr games lol
Will give it a few patches, hopefully they can at least get it to a half decent state. I doubt it will ever be perfect because it's a janky game anyway but fingers crossed it can be on par with the flat version.
Hope so. Such an awesome game
Not trying to be mean or anything but I’ve seen other UA-camr playing the game and everything was good looking and playable. In the PlayStation store the games has 5 stars and 3.2k sales and I’ve seen that the people that played the game used another version that why the game was bad at everything. Im not saying that this video is wrong I’m just telling u what I heard and saw. 🤷🏻♂️
when the nomad port outdoes your psvr port💀
Yeah man. That’s impressive
To be fair, it’s terrible on pcvr too. I haven’t played it on pcvr for ages, as it lags so bad.
It’s early access and they probs rushed it due to not being able to cancel again. I have every confidence this will be fixed very soon
I play it on VR, on a Cloud PC with very medium specs, and it doesn't lag-- You may just need to tweak your settings.
@ it’s the only game for pc vr for me that runs bad. I play games HLA, Into the radius 2, Subside and Bonelab all on max settings with no issues.
@@Quest4Horror Huh, that's definitely odd! I promise my Computer is not ideal but I've been able to play with little to no lag issues and I play exclusively in VR, so Idk if it's specifics of your hardware and that game, but is definitely something to think about.
It doesn’t lag on psvr
can you do a small video to show it can be a singleplayer campaign?? the majority word on the streets is its multiplayer only. I think a lot of ppl dismissed it on that trending topic alone. would def love to see what single player would be like if possible?
Its not got a single player campaign. The game is the same with people or solo.
Never mind, I'm retracting my request, after watching the video it looks like utter shit..I'm sorry you even had to play it once, let alone wanting you to play it again..especially when no matter single player or not I'm not buying a trashy looking game..F it 😂
There's no campaign, its just 1-4 players. You just investigate ghosts that are randomly selected on each map.
While I appreciate content creators who take the 'no bullshit' route and call out problems for what they are, I feel there should be just a little bit of leniency given this is a small dev team and their first project being ported to consoles. This company isn't big like EA or Activision and yet they made a game that is still going strong 4 years later whereas EA and Activision make games that barely stay relatable for more than 3 months
If they simply never fix these issues, different story...call them out like any other lazy dev. But if they actually take this feedback and make the necessary fixes, we're looking at a small dev team that puts more effort into their titles than a f*cking multibillion dollar company like EA who prefers to sell the game broken and not give a single shit about it once it hits the shelves.
I'm glad I found this before buying it with friends. Does the screen mode even work?
Yeah screen mode works perfectly for me I even used psvr 2 it was buggy but it was really fun and terrifying
Thats a shame i was looking forward to this release.Hope they will patch the sh*t out of it.
Anyone know if you can play this in vr with non vr users?
If it's like the PC version, you can do no problem.
