I just went for a maximum power build. Maxed out strength, a plus 5 strength shell, the lug nut, the scrap hammer, and any strength increasing stowaway. "I also like to equip the three fish, and hide in a corner because it's funny."
I found a new strong build. I haven't had the chance to test it on bosses though. You use the wine glass, and equip a barnacle. That gives you 100 defense which means you take zero damage from (nearly) all attacks. Then you max out resistance, and equip the highest resistance stowaways you can find. Due to resistance giving a hard number for damage reduction, any attack below the reduced damage does nothing to your shell. So if you combine those two things, your health and shell health only go down when hit by maybe 5% of all attacks in game. (I only figured this out after beating the game and killing all of the bosses, so take everything I'm saying with a grain of salt.)
Something to note late game when you have a bunch of umami charges, you can use the crab swipe to increase the damage a boss takes on top of the lifesteal and juggernaut, and they'll die really really fast lmfao
@FlamingRavioli you can use it when you have the free charge but im pretty sure that all of the times that you mentioned you weren't able to use your ability and you didn't know why were times when you had already expelled that first free one
another really good build that i found is: shark tooth (you can get a + from the shellsplitter in flotsam vale) lug nut cockle (can be a + but you get that relatively late and you need to sacrifice the lug nut so i recommend the normal one) lil red cup shell (just because of the shell spell you get so much more damage and you can buy shell insurance really easily) the ability in the skilltree that gives you extra damage after you block an attack with your shell and optionally the duchess' ability so if you use your shell spell, block a hit, charge up an attack (which can be quite difficult with the hammer but you get the timing down eventually) bosses die in 5 seconds
I think I have an even better one. Knight's Helmet plus three Barnacles (you can replace two of the Barnacles with a Barnacle++ leaving one slot open for another stowaway, but you will have a lot less RES and there's no stowaway that can make up for it). You will have 100 DEF which means only damage that ignores your shell (i.e. grabs) can deal direct damage to you, and with max RES most attacks won't even damage your shell. I was able to AFK during the final boss (first phase as he doesn't have any grabs in that phase afaik) for several minutes before he broke my shell a single time. With Self Repair it's difficult for enemies to deal permanent damage to your shell at all, and you can use a maxed Tactical Tentacle to heal any damage that manages to get past it. I would also pick up Scrap Hammer and stick another Knight's Helmet onto my fork so that I would have a third shell after Kintsugi has been used up (with 25 or more RES, your Scrap Hammer shell no longer loses durability so it'll be in pristine condition if you need it to replace your equipped shell). You can possibly replicate this effect earlier in the game with the Mason Jar which is available right at the entrance of the Expired Grove. It has 80 DEF so you can run 2 Barnacles and a Limpet/Turtle Shell Shard; the jar has far less durability, but you'll have even higher RES than with the Knight's Helmet so almost nothing can damage it. Ofc you won't be able to Scrap Hammer the Mason Jar so you'll only have two with Kintsugi. Blocking attacks with a 100 DEF build is actually harmful because (from my testing) it causes the shell to take more damage than it would have from an unblocked attack (unless you really want to take advantage of Aggravation or parrying). I've had crushing attacks consistently do no damage to the Mason Jar without blocking, and consistently smash it while blocking. Also how did you get to the Consortium before Heikea and Topoda? Is there a skip that lets you reach the Consortium/the path with the Valve without breaking the purple rock with the Mantis Punch?
Wow, this seems like an insane build! I might have to try this and possibly do a review on it🤯 Yes there is a skip to get to consortium early! I thought this was the legit way to go but after people have kept asking I realize the path I took is kinda a skip I guess😆 You just have to jump up on the tires right before you get to the giant barrel in expired grove. From the tires you can jump and swim to the huts where the snipers are shooting from, and from there you follow the jumping puzzle to get to the consortium. Hope this helps! Maybe I should make a short on how to do this😆
@@FlamingRavioli Honestly I feel bad about this build because it feels like cheating, but I mean, Aggro Crab didn't include a cap on DEF (and there's a shell that has 90 DEF innately, the Champagne Flute, so I doubt it was an oversight) so I still consider it valid. I trashed the last 3 bosses with it lmao. I'll have to try the skip myself. Having the Tactical Tentacle early would make Heikea and Topoda so much easier in future runs, even just the level 1 version because of it's auto capsize.
I don't even know who these other bosses are and yet I somehow managed to kill the big crab by the time we first unlock the sands between. F for story progression 😔
Lol this was amazing. Never knew how much of a leach you can be in this game. I love the full balance build myself. Sinker, Sinker+, Sinker++, fully leveled Mantis Punch, fully leveled Snail Sanctum hammer, and the Twist Top Shell Spell. fuckin hilarious to watch all these bosses just being on the floor the entire time.
I independently thought up this same build but I used the razor blade and it went INSANELY hard. I needa try the lil bro with it fs. With the razor blade I beat pagarus in one try while less leveled than you he was just perma stunned lmao
Спасибо. Я использовал только "тактическое щупальце" 3 уровня, но, всё равно, почти легчайше победил Inkerton, Crab Hunter. Интересно, какого будет дальше толкьо с этой адаптацией

Backtrack from the checkpoint by the big metal barrel in expired grove. You can jump up to some buildings from one of the big tires, follow the jumping puzzle and you will end up at the consortium boss😁
If you need to get to the grove before you kill Pagurus, you might not be that good at the game. The fact that you obviously are not supposed to should be the iron hard motivation that you must. Also, using the skills of shell healing, shell aggro, and upgrading your MSG helps a lot with the tentacle build, no stats need to go toward health or defense if you're good enough. Attacking immediately after blocking keeps the shell health up, and there's always another close by.

If only there was a lamprey ++, melee tank seems invincible. Bonk everything, be at full health
I think two lamprey and a plus is enough lol
The juggernaut shell spell costs 3 umami charges to use, the times you couldnt use it were times that you had less than 3 remaining
I see! I thought you were able to use it regardsless when you have the free charge one from the skill tree🫡
@@FlamingRavioli it does work with the free charge from skill tree idk what he's on about

Seems like a fun build to try out!😆
that was basically my end game build, but it was Buoyancy, Lamprey and shark tooth
I love how so many people ended up using this build
You could use a sponge+ to gain umami charges faster to really abuse the build 😆
True👀

It's so strong!!
Underrrated video, keep up the good work bro
Thanks man!
Pagarus the revenus is allergic to bananas and if you equip the banana shell and he eats you the 2/3 of his health is gonna go down
What, I have to try this🤯
Thimble alone is the most broken thing in the game lol, straight up invulnerable
Sinker SInker sinker or cockle cockle+ bobber DAMAGE!!
i was watching this vid and quite enjoyed it and didnt even realise it has only 500 views lol good work
Thanks😂🙌🏼
awesome!
He’s unkrillable
And here I am doing a level 1 no shell no boss cheese no stowaway no skill tree no ability and only 3 heals run... fun
@@BranchBruh Damn! Best of luck to you🥵
Did you know that if pagurus eats a banana it loses like 60 percent of his health
Yeah I have heard of this, that’s so funny ngl😆
Use the lil red party cup

question, how did u manage to fight the consortium without the mantis punch??

I beat the game without getting both those ablilities and they never told me how to level up the Unami skills
You beat the game on hard mode brother😂

your using the tentacle and juggernaut costs 5 to use
Where do you go to get the tentical
Defeat the secret boss Consortium, which is found in Flotsam Vale, but you need to go through a secret area in Expired Grove to reach it.
How did you get a yellow fork?
It changes as you upgrade it!
Where is Lamprey+? cant find it.
It’s very late game, at the unfathom - hermit’s plateau. It’s in a chest kinda close to a green glowstick
How do I get more stowaway slots?
You buy them in the city

Probably because the lil bro shell is so tanky lol
