It amazes me people never heard this stuff. This song came out the year I was born and has always been one of my favorites. Some of the greatest musicians ever. Paice's single stroke rolls never get any comments in these Deep Purple reaction videos. fastest i've ever heard.
I m 40 growing up in the 80's and 90's my generation was still listening to Purrple, Sabbath, Leppelin etc, along with G&R Nirvana etc. Computers ruinned music since then
yeah I grew up listening to 70s music … best of Rock, best of Pop, best of Soul, best of R&B, best of Southern Rock, Disco, Vocal Groups and Instrumentals … just an absolute phenomenal decade ! … a decade where Elvis Pressley, Beatles and Michael Jackson were all performing

Stone Cold You could be right but I don’t think so. There is way too much auto tune and the like in music today, and to me ( at 63) it doesn’t seem to have the same depth as old music had. However that very well could be me rather than the music.
That's how you take basic blues and transform it into sublime blues rock. Saw them in concert twice in the early 70s. The treat with a band like Purple was that you not only got to hear some excellent music, it was amazing to watch it performed with such skill on every instrument. All for under ten dollars ticket price. I miss those days.
Do you know what was truly amazing about this era: this was just another new album. Dozens of masterpieces were released every year. We were spoiled my friend. Glad you've discovered it.
Right there are five of the best musicians/composers/singers to have ever graced this planet...that is all. You shall not see the likes of them again...
Deep Purple are just legends, like some other bands of that timeperiod like Zeppelin, Black Sabbath,... They created a totally new sound and also being awesome creative in writing lyrics that mean something, even today.
Normally I am more fond of ballads but Deep Purple is an exception. They know exactly what they are doing. Normally I don't notice the drummer much but here, each beat of him sounds hard enough to make it all sound massive, yet he never destroys the transparency of it all.I am even thinking that drummer is the heart of that band.
JON LORD ON THE ORGAN, IAN GILLAN THE VOCALIST, IAN PAICE ON THE DRUMS, ROGER GLOVER ON THE BASS ANNNNDDDDD RITCHIEEEEE BLACKMORE THE INSANE GUITARIST! :)
i grew up to this music because my mom and dad love this band. So my father started playing the drumms when he was little and had no drum lessons. He teached my brother the drums and they named me after Ian Paice. My parents took us both to some concerts when i was at the age of 10, 14 and 16. So i started to sing and my brother started to play the piano (hammond). Now at the age of 23 i have a Deep Purple coverband with my father (62) at the drums and my brother (24) at the hammond and im the leadsinger. This band means alot for me and it makes me happy that there are still sooo many people listening to deep purple. the good old times. Keep up this reaction videos! nice content!
This right here is why I like watching reaction vids. People discovering this astonishing musicianship for the first time! I'd recommend Pictures of Home and Highway Star for more Purple greatness!
Imagine it's the early 70's and you're sitting on the lawn at a festival with your friends watching Purple play. They would jam like that for 30+ minute songs. You're passed a dubie and hand it to the next person. It was crazy.
The first sounds like a Morning, the second sounds like a rage( please stop this war), and the third Is simple scream because people realized that WAR Is Never gonna stop!!!
You always remember your first time. I just watched a reaction video from a drum teacher, and he did a reaction to Ian Paice, the drummer. He did Paice's solo on the song the Mule. He got blown away, not realizing how Good of a drummer he is. And, not as recognized as he should be. Speed King, the I think it's from the same show as Child in Time. Great reaction. Peace
Funny because this 'Child in Time' song from Deep Purple was played on almost every high school party at my time together with 'Smoke on the Water' and Meat Loaf's 'Paradise By The Dashboard Light'. Funny because so many people still show interest in a song a grew up with in my youth.

So did I - Brixton Sundown, 30th September 1972 (photo from the same gig on the back of the "Made in Japan" LP). That's when I decided I wanted to play drums!
Ian gillan singer and Ritchie Blackmore went on to become the greatest most notorious rock guitarist. And the next song you want to hear from deep purple is highway star , burn, and Miss treated
You should check out Highway Star. It features one great solo after another, pretty much from every instrument. Other great Deep Purple songs are Smoke on the Water, My Woman from Tokyo, and Hush.
