Thank you Rossini!
Finally, a version with a snare drum too!
Remember folks that Part 4 of this Overture is often referred to as "The Gallop", so it stands to reason that it should make the listener think and feel as if he or she is GALLOPING!!!
YES! So it has be done. @Brian Tuma: This the original tempo.
I LOVE brass bands! This is just amazing! Rossini would love them
I am not the only one that thinks some of the British bands play everything faster just to prove a point. The music and musicality get lost in the blur. I appreciate the comments below
Straordinari...eseguire ciò che normalmente eseguono gli archi con gli strumenti a fiato è stradifficile!!!!!!
Thanks ! Your Music Power :)
My drum teacher is 3rd from the left on clash cymbals!
Did they only have the hall for so long?
😂😂
Top of their game for decades. They can play what they want, as fast as they want, when they want, where they want...
great ♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪ ♫♪ ♫♪great sound! ♫♪♫♪ ☺ ♥ ♫♪☺♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪☺ BRAVISSIMO @bisbis 🎶🎵🎼 great music! a well tuned ensemble that sounds like an organ ! Fabulous banding
Hey! If you set the tempo to 0,75 it almost sounds right!
Hi Ho Silver!
If your jealous u can’t play like that. Join the club
Nicely played but I do prefer the Grimethorpe Colliery's rendition. Just a personal preference.
I think they were in a hurry to get to the pub
God...I wish all these so-called musical experts would just shut their yaps and enjoy the music. This is brilliantly played.
Rob Tro, I don't know, if you take the time to listen, do you have to be an expert to make a comment? I actually enjoyed it, but I totally get what some of the commenters say about it being so fast that it's presented more as an exercise in technical ability than really conveying the overall sound or feel of the piece. It's a legitimate reaction.
If you can play it slow, you can play it fast...😐
Brilliant playing love brass band playing but an the bands not fit in hi ho silver away that would be the best lol 😆 😄
I like the whole overture. But don't know if they could slow down enough to play the first two parts:)
Brian Tuma and Brian Baumgarn , you both comment on the speed at which this piece is played. In my opinion, you should both learn to listen faster, the musicality does not get lost in a blur, that is a reflection of your own dull response to the music, learn to listen faster, and you might one day catch up with the music.
This is wothout question the most brilliant virtuoso playing of of a brass band ensemble i have heard......,if that is not a contradiction of terms.
Where is the show? What country?
In Lucern, Switzerland
Agreed its just too fast to be well played
It's a bit of a lark, calm down. Most of you on here have humour malfunction.
It's not to fast.
Except they’ve played it that fast and really well. Sure there’s one or two unwanted glissandi in the fast semiquaver sections but as a whole, regardless of tempo this is a fantastic performance of this piece of music.
Technically brilliant but just because you can play it that fast doesn’t mean you should play it that fast.
It's fast because it is SUPPOSED to be fast...
...Excellent, but its a pity......too fast to be able enjoy more.
No.
@@helmutbuntjer9566 agreed. SPEED!!!
The fast speed makes it better and reminds me of a cartoon chase scene.
Hey boi
Who are the 6 mardy plonkers that didn't like this?
They are the same useless clowns that had negative things to say about it. If stupid could fly they would be a JET Plane.
I think Seat One Trumpet 🎺 was trying to impress the girls with his tongue work.
St Charles cornet*
That cornet solo was awful. Listen to Grimethorpe Colliery Band playing the same piece..... their 1st cornet played it in one breath, no split notes....perfection.
Richard Marshall ofc❤
It's way too fast, now it sounds rushed and it's not really a pleaure to listen to anymore. Richards solo lost all brilliance because of that
Absolutely agree entirely. Just listened to Widor's toccata before this and it was as usual so fast, it was gappy and bitty and not nice to listen to. Childs needs to stop taking things at tempo de tear arse and start letting the music speak. He's becoming the Diane Bish of the brass band world.
the audience seemed to love it though...
I think we are listening out of context. i assume this is an encore? therefore, the mentallity is lets play something thatll really knock their socks off. something to leave with their toes tapping and then the band can finish their programme? maybe im wrong but it is a brass band. its entertainment and if it draws the desired response from an audience then they are getting it right. just my opinion though.
They speed it up to get more points at the competition
Tom Huchinson played the same part at the same speed as Richard and played it much MUCH better. Type in `Finale fra William Tell nidaros brass'
Far too fast!
We Brits do brass bands best
Showboating.
If you are the worlds best, why not.
@@peterfeltham5612My old bandmaster used to say, "Play it, don't take the p*ss out of it." This sounds to me like the latter.
Poor cornet solo :(
Don't see you playing Principal Cornet in one of the worlds most famous bands...
Agreed, wasn't handled very cleanly. Prolly bcos the tempo was too fast
Richard Marshll legendary trumpeter. Here his solo wasn't clean.
