Thank you Jeff and congratulations to you as well. Looks like we both decided to challenge ourselves, and we both succeeded 👊💥. You did amazing, and thanks again for all your awesome support; it really means a lot! Let's keep the adventures going 🏃♂️
@@ChooseAdventureCaliforniaStyle I know! I put them on my videos all the time, there’s and idea… maybe… Random map… wrong place… get the comments going 😂
That was fun to follow. Did you and Cliff have a "pact" so to say, to run together? Does this happen organically as you line up at the start, or maybe pre-planned ahead of time? I enjoyed the graphics you put up showing your goal versus where you stand at that current time. How long was your stay extended by the uncooperative weather??
Cliff and I were planning on running the race together. We had many "crew" talks leading into the race. We think his slow down was from not eating enough food. During these big races, you gotta constantly be eating and drinking. Boat travel to and from the island was canceled the next day. Which was awesome, an extra day on Catalina 🌞. Our hotel was cheap that night, a "Stranded discount". I filmed that day. The start of the day was CRAZY then it calmed and was fine. I'm not sure how I'll put that video together. The whole idea was to get the craziness 🤣. Glad it was a fun film 🎥 😊. What a wild day! 🍻
Man that is sick congratulations on the ultra finish and congratulations on the triple crown achievement. I really want to take on this 50 miler next year
Thank you! I highly recommend this run, it's an awesome 50 miler for many reasons. I'll be back next year 🤙. The climbs are legit. My watch showed 8,100' of climbing. In 2 days I'm running my first 100 miler 💯. Maybe I'll see you in the next Avalon 50. Cheers!
@@ChooseAdventureCaliforniaStyle sounds like a tough course! It looked gorgeous in your video, I’m going to see what else I can find on UA-cam showing this course. First 100 miler though, that’s badass! Good luck man. I’m running my first official marathon in San Diego on Sunday. I’m really looking forward to it
I think I know how to drive a golf cart, I don't need training for that. Catalina is not one of those dry Islands is it? because golf carts and beer just go together 😁@@ChooseAdventureCaliforniaStyle
The Triple Crown is awesome. Catalina Island is my favorite place to run. Yes, we normally show up the day or 2 before the race and stay a day after. Keep in mind Catalina Island Jacks up their hotel prices BIG time during these races. A hotel that would normally be $80 a night could be $300 or $400 a night. Book early! I'm already booked for the Avalon 50 miler in 2025. I got a hotel for about $270, and that's a steal during these races. Plus, factor in the boat ride round trip. It's a pricy endeavor but really worth the experience. There is camping on the island which is much cheaper. I've never done it, but I've had friends do it and say it's a good time. I made a film on the channel, like, 4 days in Catalina. It highlights things to do on the island and 2 places we stayed. If you have any more questions, ask away. The Triple Crown is a very memorable experience, and I highly recommend it. Cheers!
Congratulations Paul. Your an inspiration. Great video and even better accomplishment. So great to see you cross that finish line.

I use to be runner. But my feet are having issues as I age. So now I walk. Nice to meet you in Darin's email.

That looks awesome! not sure about running, a little golf cart would be perfect 😁
It is awesome! You have about a year to start training for the next 50. The golf cart tour is awesome!

Makes me wanna do the triple crown! Moving to Mission Viejo CA in 2 weeks. Very doable!! Do you stay on the island after the races?
