As a former Vovinam instructor, I would have really enjoyed to see this project in its fullest. Its unfortunate you weren't able to see this project through
As a student I would have loved it so much. So much so that I want to do it myself. I'm no professional at film making but this is in my blood and I am willing to do whatever it takes to bring it to life, even if it is homemade. Being someone influences by this story. If you wanna see where I take this then check my socials! #Vovinam #Viet4life
Vovinam was created before the war in Vietnam. I wonder if any American soldiers took up this style of martial art in the 60'S, and 70's. Vovinam is both a soft and hard style . It's combination with some other styles such as western boxing, Japanese, Chinese, korean
I am from Russia Oleg Petrakovets - a coach in Vovinam. since 1991 I have been engaged in this type of martial arts. I would like to know if you have completed the film about Nguyen Loc ?
Where can I find this interesting movie. Vietnamese martial arts is overshadowed by other Asian martial arts. Wish I could find a Vietnamese martial arts school in the big apple. Vietnamese movies is very hard to find in New York . Vietnamese and African Martial arts is underrated. The French had too overconfidence in themselves. They thought Vietnam was going to be easy to defeat and easy to control and was a piece of cake. Vietnam has defeated France, China , United States. I wonder what other countries has Vietnam defeated. The United States has underestimated the Vietnamese people. A country like Vietnam knows about war more than the United States. Japan and Korea and China has been feuding with each other for a very long time. The big three of Asia is China and Japan and Korea. Vietnam, Korea, Japan did borrowed some things from China. Same as China borrowed some things from India. It's crazy how China was under the British. Korea used to be under Japan. Vietnam was under the French. Both Korea and Vietnam gained It's independence in 1945..
Vietnam has defeated two Western Powers. Even Japan attempted to best Vietnam but wasn't so successful. China was another problem. Is there any schools located in the Big Apple that teaches Vovinam.
You know I wonder if Bruce Lee knew any form of Vietnamese martial art. I've never heard him talk about the Vietnamese people. I truly wouldn't mind studying Vovinam in the city. I bet most people don't even know it exist. I like how it displays different other martial arts systems.. I see Japanese or Korean. I even see some Tai chi. Kung fu, Aikido, Jujitsu as it llooks like in its stand, technics, foot work throws, uniforms. Reminds me of a Korean martial art movie that came out in 2006!! A Korean martial artist was going around testing his skills against other martial artists and defeating them. His first lost was from a karate guy who recognized his style of tae Kwon do but title it as Korean karate. The man trained and practiced until he gotten better and begin to challenge them one by one. And started winning against them until the last challenge. It was against a Japanese swordsman and his men. I can't think of the movie right now. But eventually the name will pop up.
