red bull gives you wings and the CAA clips them
That should have been the title to this video 😂😅😂
@ragndroneman I think you might have the wrong channel. I have had Mikey on Geeksvana more than most channels. Including his own interview 'in his words' more than a year ago.
More recently, I have felt passionately that appearances and interviews can only hurt him until he resolves his situation. Something confirmed in court when the judge reported exactly that.
If you notice, we don't really have other channels on very much because that hasn't been the style of video more recently.
Although there are a lot more collabs in the members section with other channels, as we have more freedom there.
If you think anything on this channel is done 'for views', then you need to reassess. We grow slow and steady based on making content our way.
Of course, there is also the additional response of, it really is my channel and I will have who I want on, when I see fit.
Glad that CAA. are doing this. That shows CAA are not beholden to big business hopefully!
This is wild. There’s no way RB didn’t have some special passes as well, making it really hard to speculate what the problem is or what line may have been crossed.
Absolutely! I have to think something was spotted in the video released? I suppose time will tell...
How did the CAA not investigate the F1 stunt ? Im sure the "spotter" for the FPV drone could not have maintained VLOS over the distance flown 😉😉
Hey John! It will be interesting to see what they have a potential issue with. Certainly there was a lot going on and a hectic scene to run. But Red Bull seem highly accomplished at that!
@@Geeksvana Thing is Sean, Red Bull have to fly under the exact same rules as everyone else. I can’t see the CAA giving me special dispensation to fly an FPV drone BVLOS ( and it’s a fair bet Red Bull didn’t have any special dispensation either)
The event had a lot of specialist permissions and would have been gone over many time by regulator and those carrying out the event. So, the scrutiny was there as you would hope. But either something has happened beyond those permissions, or something was missed entirely...
@@johnburns5783 chances are they would have had multiple spotters positioned around the circuit and communicating via radio / internet
When I saw the stunt, the first thing I thought wasn’t about the wingmen but the drone flying west of Tower Bridge as it’s restricted.
It feels like it fits, doesn't it. If it is that, I can only assume it is an oversight as they went to the trouble of gaining the other permissions.
@wrightwells, yeah …… everyone should know by now that the only group allowed to do anything the government says is illegal is the government!! That is if they can locate any government employees willing to actually DO anything! 😳 🤔
CAA AGAIN, They must be getting bored!
Perhaps someone spotted something in a coffee break... (is coffee break a thing anymore, been many years since I worked in an 'office' environment 😅).
@@Geeksvana i was only having some banta.. lol.. The CAA has ruined my work. Once these pesky sub 250's came out..
@onemandrone a topic I could talk endlessly about... It is almost as if they don't want a UK drone industry 🤔
Coffee break I thought they worked from home.
Red Bull has a team of attorneys, they’ll come out on top.
I didn't think it would be long before we saw the regulatory motors turning.
Someone's probably spotted a drone clip taken from a certain location that they shouldn't have been in.
It's so easy using Google earth pro to pinpoint an exact drone location from video footage.
I think you are correct. Perhaps once the CAA posted it, someone else with the org watched it and said.... 'hold my beer' 😂🤣
Perhaps the drone was tethered to the wing suit.... 😂
Or.... and hear me out... what if the wingsuits were drones?!?
@Geeksvana next you'll tell me there are really aliens 👽 😜
There has probably been a complaint from a member of the public which has to be investigated.
Seems weird, it's not even that hard to get permits to fly on the west side, they must have done that. The drone pilot was in the middle of the bridge with his spotter so they could have LOS the whole time no problem even going through. The whole airspace was prepared for this, I saw the NATS post about how they planned it all out. Really if the CAA had a problem they should have dealt with it way in advance
Absolutely. I think it must be a technical issue. Something substantial enough to look into and pull their post but with the amount going on, and the professional way Red Bull run these stunts, I would be surprised if it was something significant.
Two thoughts come to me. How do they manage the potential uplift from the helicopters rotors. The pilot must climb away as they jump. Secondly, the FPV starts filming at 3,000 feet? Then follows them on the West side of the bridge. Authorised? Unusual.
i dont fly mine anymore, but i do have friends that do, and just shrug their shoulders....rules are meant to be broken...make of that waht you will..one local guy has even posted his flight along a railway line and over numerous buildings etc...does he care NOPE..
Attitudes do vary for sure. Although the risk from a sun 250g is so low, so there is that.
If the CAA gave RB permission, why the investigation?
I'm sure appropriate RAs would have been in place before the stunt took place, also any drones used would have suitable insurance cover and permissions, confused on this one 🤔
I bet it is to do with the distance of the drone. Perhaps someone thought if its a sub250g it doesn't count.
In UK Sub 250g drones with cameras are not that different to heavier drones in the regulations.
Drones seen as toys don't count, yet some of them have cameras.
@@pcka12 Correct except distances but most forget that London still needs NATS approval (I am a drone professional) this is just my personal account.
CAA = Campaign Against Aviation.
so they should!
DJE MEDIA on UA-cam went too far, and a group of people turned up and dje running for his life
Oh no! What happened?
Stunts are called stunts for a reason: they’re stunts and should be restricted to non-public areas.
Must be rubbish they would have been given permission.
CAA have confirmed an investigation is under way.
So...a man free falling temporarily, with no ability to steer/avoid effectively....is less dangerous than a fully controllable aircraft?..which is a lot lighter than a man..hmm....
