- Finally my dream came true. Going to Svalbard to photograph wildlife and birds in the arctic. I have always been fascinated by this place. Svalbard is a part of Norway, and has the northernmost city in the world, Longyearbyen.
The landscape of Svalbard is nothing you have experience before. It is almost like coming to another planet. The firs days of photography we photographed birds, like barnacle geese, purple sandpiper and red throated loon.

Hi Trond wow the only person I know who can get beautiful images in the middle of nowhere lol. I've never even heard of this place and like you say you could feel like your on another planet. Really beautiful images and great video Trond! Im glad you were able to fulfill your dream and you are sharing with us. I'm so greatful that I had the chance to travel also too Svalbard this year back in April but I took a photography trip on ship. Didn't see the artic fox which is also a dream of me, but I saw polar bears! That was an amazing experience :)

Simply beautiful images, Trond! There's product by Kirk Enterprise Solutions called Low Angle Pod-Tan-, It's great for photographing close to the ground. You can slide the plate very easily on the ground. Love the video!

Beautiful. Did you see any signs of bird flu? The barnacle geese should be heading back to the Solway in another month. It is estimated that bird flu killed about 1/3rd of the Solway birds last winter. Just hoping that they had a good breeding season.

I have not tried the new 800mm. But I actually had the 400mm f/4.5 with me, but never used it 😅

Hi Trond, are you using a F-Mount TC 1,4 iii or TC 1,7 or TC 2 iii on top of the FTZ 2 mount for the Z9? I thought a TC can not be used in combination with TC? Thanks.
