@Good Useful Nintendo Account The thing is why an underage would be that concerned about guns tho. I respect that guns are interesting and they are a hobby and job for many, but for a kid? Edit: A lot of people seem to think I'm against guns, which is completely wrong. I have nothing against them if you are a responsible adult that uses them at work, sports, hobby or even videogames. HOWEVER, kids having unsupervised exposure to guns and violence should be strictly condemned, not praised. I'm tired of repeating the same in this thread because the ones that tag me don't read at all 🤣

We don't sell, allow, or make guns reachable for kids to use by law. You need to be 18 to buy one, and there's an extra waiting period for people between 18-20.
I hope you know that criminals will ALWAYS get guns, in England a man opened fire on a home with a ILLEGAL gun. Making guns illegal makes law abiding citizens helpless against evil people. Also you have to be 18 to purchase a firearm
Absolutely chilling. Even on subsequent viewings, every time the "while you were watching Evan" message comes on screen, it sends shivers down my spine.

Sometimes, the signs aren’t that obvious. Also, teenagers should enjoy their years of high school, not worry about potential shooters. It’s really sad.
Unless you’re bullied or dealing social issues or depression or mental illness, then it’s pretty hard to enjoy your teenage years, ending school shootings doesn’t mean things are better.
I first watched this at school maybe a month ago and oh. my. god. this is how you raise awareness people!!! ive rewatched this video tons of times because I think it’s such a well made video and I am sad i will never experience the amount of shock I had the first time watching. i wish people made more awareness videos like this
I like ads that have subtle flashes of brilliance like that. All the more effective because, seeing it for the first time on TV, you probably don't necessarily know what to look for, so, this could be an ad for anything, for it to then hit you with that shock at the end. Whereas looking at it first on UA-cam, even knowing what to expect it can catch you off guard.
I don't think that was the intention they were probably trying to portray how subtle the signs can be and how people don't always notice until it's too late
People are only consumed with themselves a lot of the time. Most aren’t aware of their surroundings. Especially when he was quickly scrolling through and that kid with the gun seemed like a loner who would of gone unnoticed.
Happened in my school. Only not a gun, but a knife. She was looking for a certain kid, but he was the only one who got genuinely scared (because he knew her and knew she hated him) and skipped school that day. Still, a teacher got stabbed in his back.
This short film shocked me to my core..the signs were right in front of my eyes and I didn’t notice..this unfortunately shows how close this is to real life

While not everything the other guy did is necessarily a sign by itself, seeing them all together presents a warning. The selfie he posted with a gun & the caption "see you at school" strikes me as the biggest red flag.
Huh. I don't think any of us thought of that. Although I'm not sure too many shooters would announce what they're going to do on social media, but I could be wrong.

When the adults can't fix the economy or mental health, who is left to pass the buck to except the same students who'll be killed if they fail? @Akire Mep I don't think, nobody goes to the supposed quiet kid that looks like he's going into something to make a relationship, even if they knew it was very possible. People just ignore that, they want to keep going with they're lives. Let's do an example, you're a turtle and there's a small but lethal cocodrile, would you go to try and make a relationship? It just doesn't work that way. They're with you 'cause they're ur friends.
They did report him. Multiple times. Just nobody took their reports serious. Kids aren't fucking stupid. Plus the last school shooter Cruz hadn't been to school for a year and a fucking half. He was an adult.
Yet my school had a kid in my homeroom who literally yelled that he would shoot all the girls in the class because none of us romantically liked him. He also got suspended for bringing a knife to school. He also threatened to shoot up the entire school out loud during lunch (everyone ate together). He didn’t get suspended or expelled for either threat. Yet girls would report him because, I’ll put it this way, he was handsy. And we would get told to dress more proper and a couple times the girl would get suspended for breaking the dress code. The girls were wearing jeans and t-shirts with hoodies because it was winter. Schools don’t care about our safety, especially in modern day
All the people (including me) who thought a school ignoring an obvious post threat like pointing a gun at a camera and saying “see you at school” would be unrealistic was proven wrong by the example set in Texas. I don’t know how to feel about that….
You feel angry. Then you start talking about that with your neighbors. Then you and your neighbors start going to school board meetings... and ask LOTS of questions about school safety and mental health. Sometimes things are so obvious, and so clear, that we miss them. Question everything and get to know the people in your community- better. It starts with feeling it though. And the feeling here is... anger.
the ban only makes them illegal, and criminals don't follow law. all it does is make it harder for honest people with only the intention to protect themselves and their family FROM criminals
My old school showed us this back in 2018 and said to the auditorium “ talk to all quiet kids, the bookworms and outcast.” I thought that was so backhanded to people who felt outcasted
Also while "be kind to others" is a good message for everyone, it seems unfair to expect the students who are literal children and don't have the life experience or emotional maturity that they should be expected to recognize that, but also over simplifies things as it has been more or less proven that it isn't as simple as "school shooters were bullied, be nice to people and they won't shoot others". A lot of school shooters are the bullies.
AHHhhhh Sheeeetttt!!!!! I'm introverted (enjoy spending time to myself) and this one girl started saying hi to me all of the time, and eventually tried to get to know me a lot more. Now I think I know why. I'd prefer if I remained to myself to avoid any misconceptions, thanks.
Not everyone who has been bullied wants to shoot up the school. I’ve been bullied throughout my school career and I haven’t thought about picking up a gun and getting revenge.
Because they’re asking the children to target the kid who’s awkward anyway and probably a loner and single the kid out and call him / her a crazy murderer. And act on that . How is that not bullying??
The one where he was legit just pointing a gun at the camera on his social media was a dead giveaway. I didn't notice all the signs at all, but that one definitely grabbed my attention.
This dude sat here with a gun pointed in the mirror in a selfie, with a caption of see you at school, 58 people liked and nobody thought to say anything😑😑
I'm currently in disbelief. We are in a world, no a country in which children are expected to look for and prevent gun violence because the adults won't do enough. They won't fix bullying or prevent children from getting guns, so children have to live in fear or dye. Sometimes both. I mean it's been this way for quite some time, but that doesn't mean it doesn't shock me, how messed up that all is :(
The vast majority of students in America do not have to worry about this; this problem (it is a problem, I agree) is blown out of proportion by the media and youth that want to have something to feel interesting. I sympathize with the students that have had to deal with this in the past, though. I'm not callous, but it's not a simple problem to fix. Children can't purchase guns, and most people would like to think that they've raised their kids well enough to not shoot up a school. Mental illness is the major problem with this though, and this problem is largely ignored because of social stigmas associated with it.
@@Euro.Patriot Your logic backfires. A car requires hundreds of hours of training with another person to get a license and a new license for every big vehicle type so a gun should require the same. Everyone in aus has to spend months at a club being assessed before they get a license.. the psycho social outcasts do not make it through. It's so logical it hurts.
I see it all the time, so I guess I'm blind to it. In country areas, that picture isn't crazy. Kids around here hunt all the time and have guns in their cars (no supposed to) at school. It isn't crazy. That guy's 'signs' would not even be noticed here with the exception of maybe the bullying. My school has its own hunting team and many are pro-gun.

Everyone talking about the "obvious" signs but don't realize this was uploaded in 2016 back before quiet kid memes really became popular. Thanks to memes like that people nowadays would notice those signs in 2 seconds such as the "see you at school soon" which is the most obvious thing to us now but not to somebody back in 2016.
How dumb do you have to be to honestly believe it was memes that caused people to become "more aware." Do you really think people back in 2016 were that stupid, anyone with a brain knows somethings off if some kid said "see you at school," while pointing a gun at the camera.
I understand the message stop gun violence but this makes it look like it’s the students fault but it should be up to the school to stop bullies and provide resources for students if you were a survivor of some kind of gun violence it wasn’t your fault and it was ok to be scared or if you feel the need to hurt someone talk to a therapist or a trusted friend
This is not what the video is trying to say, the point is that when we see signs of someone who is troubled we should report it, because you never now what can happen. That doesn't mean that every shooting that ever happened could have been avoided if students acted differently, but it's saying that in the future, if we see any warning signs, telling someone could potentially stop something like this from happening. There's always more than one cause to something like this and the video is just showing one of them
Elementary school, my friends & I noticed someone had written a bomb threat that would take place “at 4pm that Friday”. Told the teacher, next day there were cops & bomb squads EVERYWHERE. Turns out it was an older kid who wrote it as a dare but I’m always grateful the school took it super seriously
Back in high school, a few years back: someone once found a plastic bag in the hallway of our school, there was a few gun cases and a piece of paper with a vague threat. It was immediately brought to the principal and EVERYTHING was shut down AT ONCE. Students were ushered into classrooms, under the desks, teachers counted us as we went, we were scared to death. Lights out, curtains shut, doors and windows locked. And then.. nothing. Stayed there untill a guard pounded on the door with our gym teacher and told us to continue our day, everything was ok. Never found out what exactly the threat said, but a few days after that incident cops showed up in every classroom to explain that everything was gonna be ok and that they would keep an eye on our school for a while. Nothing actually happened after that, it may have even been a sick joke. I live in the Nordic countries, and in an area where threats of this scale are really really rare.
I remember back in middle school there was a bomb threat by some kid who was "joking" when I came home that day my parents were actually crying and I didn't know why they didn't even inform the kids why there were cops at the school
As someone who is stereotyped as the “quiet kid” please don’t just assume that someone is going to shoot up the school because they’re quiet. It is very annoying.
that's not the point. the kid was bullied, showed signs of planning a shooting and obviously didn't like the students. i'm also the quiet kid, but you're completely missing the point of the video. if you see something suspicious, you should tell someone. you could save so many lives, including your own.
"Who is here after the Florida shooting?" "Who is here after the Texas shooting?" What a sad time for our country. Edit: It is cazy to think that I comment here 3 years ago. Now I'm thinking about the Oxford shooting. I'm thinking about the message districts across the country have sent out to parents informing them of school threats on Dec 17. I'm thinking about my kids who are celebrating their holiday parties at school. I'm not thinking "what if it happens again," I'm thinking "where is it going to happen next?"
Alex Huite it’s not the country’s fault. We need more security and “good guys” with guns at our schools. Guns fight gun period. For example, in Dixon, Illinois, a dude walked into a school with a gun. He pulled out the gun, and the cop shot him.
NBA FIRE FILMS I agree with what you're saying. Unfortunately, I do think a big problem here is that we have a lot of people (not all, but a lot) who are irresponsible with their firearms. We have people who do not know how to properly use it, when to use it, or the legality behind firing it if they felt they needed to. Do you think the public would benefit from requiring a class to be taken before purchasing a firearm? Of course the argument to this would be the same as many of the laws that revolve around gun control. It's illegal to bring a gun onto gun free zones- that hasn't stopped any of the school shootings from happening. It's also illegal to murder people- still not stopping criminals from doing so. If the general public were more educated on firearms as well as how to use them- do you think we'd see a decrease in gun related violence, or does it work on paper but perhaps not in reality?

It concerns me more that the district did nothing about seeing a kid watch how to shoot a gun on their library computers
I doubt it was “how to shoot a gun.” There are millions of videos on UA-cam relating to firearms, and there’s no reason to suspect someone is planning a shooting just for watching one of them
I’d be more concerned with the “don’t go to school tomorrow” post 56 people liked
@Good Useful Nintendo Account
The thing is why an underage would be that concerned about guns tho.
I respect that guns are interesting and they are a hobby and job for many, but for a kid?
Edit:
A lot of people seem to think I'm against guns, which is completely wrong.
I have nothing against them if you are a responsible adult that uses them at work, sports, hobby or even videogames.
HOWEVER, kids having unsupervised exposure to guns and violence should be strictly condemned, not praised.

no tf it isn't, if someone wants a gun they will get a gun
the ban only makes them illegal, and criminals don't follow law. all it does is make it harder for honest people with only the intention to protect themselves and their family FROM criminals

I'm gonna make sure that this video gets shared and gets the attention it deserves to educate more students. I first saw this video years ago, but I couldn't find it again until tonight.

@sunrise it’s still disrespectful
How dumb do you have to be to honestly believe it was memes that caused people to become "more aware." Do you really think people back in 2016 were that stupid, anyone with a brain knows somethings off if some kid said "see you at school," while pointing a gun at the camera.
@@masterofmuppets357
Maybe not people in 2016, but the memes were around before then. I do believe people were ignorant of the signs back then.
@@capncook2006 No normal person, is ever going to see a post like that and think it's ok. BASIC intuition.
@@masterofmuppets357 Not back then, no.
That’s the case w the recent shooting at Oxford. It was the adults’ fault all the way. They should known better. They knew better.
There's always more than one cause to something like this and the video is just showing one of them
And for the government to make sure a teen can't get an automatic assault riffle...

Did he get suspended?
@@immortalspy3005 I don’t think they ever told us what happened, I was in 4th grade so I don’t think they wanted to freak us out
@@mexiaznann damm although that’s super cool and all feel bad for the kid now he got snakes on
Back in high school, a few years back: someone once found a plastic bag in the hallway of our school, there was a few gun cases and a piece of paper with a vague threat.
You wanna assume the special ed kid is the shooter?
*mocking spongebob intensifies*
genevieve evans it is annoying but i kinda find it funny
that's not the point. the kid was bullied, showed signs of planning a shooting and obviously didn't like the students. i'm also the quiet kid, but you're completely missing the point of the video. if you see something suspicious, you should tell someone. you could save so many lives, including your own.
Are you the quiet kid???
"Who is here after the Florida shooting?"
"Who is here after the Texas shooting?"
What a sad time for our country.
There was a planned shooting at my school which I was currently in
Alex Huite first mass school shooting happened in 1764.
Alex Huite here from columbian school shooting :(
Gun violence can be prevented by removing the guns.
