- Same Day Hurricane Ian Damage/flooding, Orlando, Oviedo, Florida
I rolled around on my Segway X2 (off road tires) to check out the damage caused by Huirricane Ian. Before the tropical storm had completely left central Florida, I had my @GoPro Hero 10 capturing video.
I also flew my @DJI Drone to get some aerial shots.

Hurricane Ian oviedo, Orlando, central Florida, hurricane ian aftermath
Welcome to Florida. I have ridden out every hurricane since 93 and this was the worst one I personally experienced. The Flooding is just monumental. I have some New Smyrna Beach and Edgewater flooding from 200ft up on my channel. Thanks for sharing.
Same here! But Charley was the worst for us and we're not prone to flooding.
Hard to believe we were back up and running 3 days later at Tee it Up! This is an epic video, thank you for sharing it!
Wow this brought back some memories. I remember Mitchell Hammock when it was a dirt road. That normally "dry field" at Lawton was "Camp Stenstrom" when Stenstrom elementary wasn't finished in time. A field of portables. It flooded then too. The boardwalks were just high enough, but of course kids got pushed off and soaked. Highest I've seen the Econ in 40+ years. Cool video thanks.
The veiws of the golf gourse on lockwood were amazing
I also went boogie boarding through the course.
good memories
Everyone should start picking up brush tree branches sweeping were it's needed
The Sod farm off Mitchell Hammock road in Oviedo was turned into a new lake, and the road was flooded slightly for a couple days!
LOL 0:28 you're standing right where I got a nail in my tire.
I drove past the sod fields the next day and the driving range, and it was flooded real good, very unfortunate, but crazy to see.
The day off I went that way trying to get to Wawa and turnt around due to the flooded road.
This area is close to me! I used to visit a friend who lives in the house with the green roof when you would drive by then Oviedo Duda farm area. Heard it was a lake at the moment. Hope the water comes down faster.
Great documentation!!!
Water finally percolated thru the sand yesterday. Its sod again.
Hope you’re all safe!
It is specially sad to me seeing the sod fields like that, they give us such a pretty view in sunny days, east Mitchell hammock road was insane, I've never seen Oviedo like this before, and I can only imagine how bad it was for the small towns around us, such as Chuluota and Geneva. The waters from the sod fields were gone between yesterday afternoon and this morning and some places are still flooded and filled with debris!
Lake Monroe and Lake Jessup were way high even yesterday! Never seen anything like it in my life, in Florida, and that's since the late 1960s! Feel bad for the people that lost everything, and over 100 people lost their lives.
@@Beamshipcaptain that's absolutely appalling! How crazy is to see this! I am so sorry for those who lost their lives and homes! Praying for them.
@@Ooo0ps A lot of business are ruined, or heavily damaged, also. Insurance companies will be bankrupt later this year.
You mentioned a bunch of names I was very familiar with eons ago (Mitchell Hammock Road, Lake Jessup, etc.) I attended Florida Technological University (now UCF) in the VERY late 60's and early '70's. Is The Townhouse restaurant still there? When we had an extra buck (literally a buck) we'd go to the Townhouse for lunch. Their wonderful Chef's Salad was 95 cents for the small one (which was the size of a medium head of lettuce) or for 20 cents more for the large one (which was huge). If I remember correctly Sterlings Pancake House had an all you can eat pancake special for 49 cents (on Tuesday, I think).
Townhouse original building demolished but they built a new building not far away
@@FloridaWaterAdventures Thank you, I appreciate the information. What's on their original sight now? At the time, I'm pretty sure that was the only traffic light in Oviedo - there are probably MANY there now. Florida is in my prayers.
@@entropy2002 They widened the roads (Central and Broadway) so pavement is your answer. :)

Oops, correction: site.
I remember Hurricane Charlie when I was a kid. That was the strongest one I ever had but this one caused more floods.
I recorded Charley too: ua-cam.com/video/nDmg3t_92JI/v-deo.html
Great video
Muchas gracias!
I was in orlando during this and it realy didnt do alot damage but it broke alot trees and some was in rivers and there was some floods but wasnt close to me so overall i was fine
Did you get a look at Winter Springs Blvd? It’s still closed
Wow
Really?! I've only seen it from the Publix side and it's dry and open again.
Soon as it dries up they will be back to developing like nothing happened
I hope everything gets back to normal ASAP as possible.
Oviedo and Geneva are swamp.
Yep
Storm made a beeline for Central Florida after it savaged the southwest Gulf Coast area. Key west and Sanibel Island are unrecognizable. Twilight Zone.
