  • Everyday is a new experience in the world of plumbing. Just when I thought I knew it all I had a hard lesson to learn. Learning that every city operates and follows code in different manners is a part of this game. Unfortunately this inspector did not like the way I connected onto the existing sewer in this building.

    If the main difference was the shield, could you have just transplanted the shield and not the whole fitting?

      Great question! I wish it could have been that easy but the structure of the rubber is completely different to where it would not allow just the shield to go around. The new one is much thicker with a uniform outside while the old one has an odd shape to it to make the different material transition.
