Qualcomm and Microsoft discuss Generative AI and the evolution of Windows PCs

- At Snapdragon Summit 2023, Qualcomm CEO and President Cristiano Amon had the opportunity to speak with Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella about a variety of topics, including the two companies’ long partnership, generative AI, and the evolution of the Windows PC experience.
The conversation began with a mutual appreciation of the broad - and long - partnership that has been built over many years and the recognition, by both, that this next chapter is going to be very exciting. And that’s because of generative AI. As Satya states, “Gen AI has the potential to be as big as the mobile revolution.”
The two then move on to discuss the impact of generative AI on the computing experience and how the way we interact with our Windows PCs is going to be more human. Yes, more human because AI will fundamentally change the way the OS works and what the user interface looks like.
Cristiano and Satya also shared their thoughts on the innovation that Qualcomm is bringing to generative AI. Specifically, the two dug into how hybrid AI will benefit the user experience on all sorts of devices, from cars to Snapdragon powered PCs. Applications, too, will evolve thanks to AI.
This is just the start of the work that Qualcomm and Microsoft are doing with AI to improve the user experience on the PC. And there’s certainly a lot of excitement for the future - of the PC and the partnership.

A lot of talk and no current examples or details about how they are making it work. 2 other times Microsoft has partnered up and Windows on ARM still isn’t useful.
