    THANK YOU for the close up shots... I was having a very hard time disconnecting those wiring harnesses not being sure which way they come off: one slides off one way and the other the opposite direction.

    I gave my 2008 Element to my daughter, last year when she got her license and last week they got her CAT from the high school parking lot, they cut the flang off to the muffler and the sensor wires smh, I ordered a Walker exhaust and installed that today but was up in the air on what CAT to order for NY, I see a lot of Walkers are not legal in NY, on Walker site they show the 82894 is CARB and legal for NY- do you have any opinions on that CAT? Thanks.

    • @GirlieGarage
      @GirlieGarage  Рік тому +1

      You have to get a CARB legal cat for NY. I’ve been using Walker CARB legal ones for a while and I like them. You have to secure the car because if they got the car once, they will likely hit it again. I use getcatsecurity.com for shields. They are pretty easy to install and have a very high success rate of deterring thieves.

    I watch your video very good job thank you I have a Honda element. I’m having problems with. I put new converter on somebody stole the old one two new sensors put on today. I had to have it Smog in the smog station says the computer says it’s not ready I have to drive it. I’ve drove it 400 miles. The computer won’t pick up the converter it keeps showing it’s not ready I don’t know. Bad codes everything’s good. Do you have any advice thank you.

    The bastards almost got mine. Cut the front pipe most of the way through before being interrupted.
    The thieves took off but a witness got a description AND a license plate. With the license plate I found the VIN which matched the description of the car by the witness. I called the cops with the information and to let them know it was $3,000 worth of damage to my Element. The cops did nothing… they called or stopped out at the home of the thief. The car was there, license plate and VIN matched. The cop said they denied it…
    Now my Element threw a P0420 code so it looks like I will indeed need to replace the cat. Crap.

    • @GirlieGarage
      @GirlieGarage  Рік тому

      Maybe you could weld the cut in the front pipe?

    • @billcunningham8485
      @billcunningham8485 Рік тому

      @@GirlieGarage Yep. Did that the next day… actually my mechanic didn’t charge me for the weld repair. However he did need to replace both gaskets which wasn’t cheap. I am considering buying a wrecked low miles Element and swapping out worn parts for… well less worn parts. At 206,000 miles and 20 years of Minnesota roads the Element is showing its age a bit. Love my Element.

      @@GirlieGarage I hope they do as well. My wife offered to buy me a new Element in 2011. I regret not accepting that kind offer. If I did I would have an Element with under 80,000 miles not 206k. If the prices on used Elements keep rising Honda should start paying attention. Just look at Bring a Trailer - less than two months ago a low miles 2008 Element sold for $27,500! Used!

    Just watching this it looks complicated already because am not mechanics. How the heck it happened so easy for the thieves with those screws screwed at first and stole our catalytic converter in just a blink eye to steal it? ..This was happened just 3 days ago. Hoping those thieves will be caught one day if not just their hands to get clipped or cuffed by the cops.

    • @GirlieGarage
      @GirlieGarage  Рік тому

      It's easy for thieves because they cut the catalytic converter out. The catalytic converter shield prevents easy access to be able to cut.
