So satisfying. And I love the bluesy sound of the Silvertone.

Thanks buddy same guitar, minus the original bridge. But I live in a house with poor drainage & very humid. I close doors to rooms & don’t provide AC so I find myself having to clean mold off of my guitar cases from time to time. Especially here in upstate NY this summer (2023) disgusting humidity aplenty. Pulled mine out after leaving it alone & had mold growing on it like yours. Thanks for the white vinegar to water dilution ratio. On the cases been using hydrogen peroxide & mostly just vacuum inside.

Really glad you found it helpful! Hopefully the humidity subsides soon...autumn can't come soon enough!

very nice slide playing jake/Shane. I’d like to elaborate on how I got mine. One of my co-workers said his roommate left a guitar behind & he didn’t want it. He said I could have it for $20. It was a Mosrite bass with a warped neck & was missing one control knob. I think I ended up only giving him $10. I brought it into this small repair shop & the owner said that the wrong strings caused the warpage of the neck. He said it was a difficult repair, would cost a few hundred & couldn’t guarantee the repair would hold cause he would have to bend the neck with heat. He wanted to take a crack at at the repair & he knew it was a rare piece. My memory is fuzzy, it was the year 1995 but I think the mosrite had a semi hollow body that was reminiscent of a Gibson 335. I asked if he would trade me for the Silvertone which had a price tag of $225. It didn’t come with the amp in the case but the soft vinyl case he supplied me with was a nice fit. It has a .22 caliber bullet hole in the front which exited the back cleanly. The original bridge was missing but the luthier had made a plexiglass bridge the same shape as yours with the rosewood piece under the strings. I noticed that your’s has nicer tuner buttons, mine are plastic, & my outer control knobs are black. Anyhow I messed with the plexiglass bridge & broke it. So it sat around about 5-6 more years until Danelectro re-issued some of their guitars. They started selling aftermarket bridges. I could have bought the same style bridge but opted for the newer style that has individual adjustable saddles so that the intonation could be adjusted on each string. I think the bridge was about $35 & the luthier gave me a setup & new strings for like $30. I rarely play it but ever since i became aware of Danelectro I had to have one because of those neat lipstick tube pickups.

@@realledbetter5015 That's a wonderful story, thank you so much for sharing! Very interested in how that .22 got there!

@@jakeshaneso since then I cleaned mine up nice by removing the mold growth on the fretboard & pick guard with the white vinegar solution. I soaked my control knobs in hydrogen peroxide. That worked well. I was going to condition the fretboard with mineral oil but I didn’t have any. So I used Martin guitar polish spray which I already had. I didn’t need to tamper with the electronics because they’re working well. The weakest link on my guitar remains the original tuners. Admittedly the 25 year old plus strings are not helping. I pretty much decided this is going to stay a mostly original, novelty guitar & I am not going to upgrade the original tuners. As far as the .22 caliber bullet hole: The day I acquired it I asked the luthier, “I guess some one was really bored to shoot a bullet hole in this guitar?” He laughed, “either that or someone was playing real poorly!”
