Thanks.. It ripped off when I was making my turn on the grass. Our grass is primarily weeds... I guess I was going a bit to fast when the plane tipped a bit and caught the elev just right.. Or maybe these Arrows planes EPO is a little on the weaker side and the foam hinge is a bit fragile..
Just look at Will - Flirtin with the fog. I was a little surprised that your elevator broke in the grass. Maybe it has been over stressed by all of your wild gyrations with the Bigfoot ? Good fix !
Bigfoot is one of those planes I fly so often that eventually I destroy the foam hinges. Probably about time for me to check them all closely again. Bigfoot is such a relaxing, well behaved flyer.
100% its such an under rated plane. So much fun to fly and very capable.. I'm going to check the hinges a bit to see If I'm wearing them out.. Maybe reinforce with Blenderm on the bottom...
When I ripped an elevator off last year, I cut a few 1-1/2" long pieces of small white tie wraps, poked small holes in the back of the stab and the front of the elevator, and glued in the tie wraps like you would hinge points. Of course, you have to cut the whole control surface off before re-attaching it.
Another thing you can do is install nylon hinges . They stand the test of time and make your control surfaces articulate flawlessly (when installed correctly of course)!
No doubt the mechanical hinge is a lot better than the foam hinge.. This technique is good for many foam planes and new modelers.. But I agree with you.... (might make another video)
I dunno.. When I fly mine, I don't feel more manly than when I fly my foam... I have a few balsa kits in the shop that are calling my name.. I just might need to build a few.. (my fix my Low Testosterone)😂
Nice fix👍🏻 I like the blenderm tape it’s very useful and fairly invisible too.
Great job🇬🇧
Yep.. Blenderm is great stuff too..
Nice repair Will. I'm a bit surprised that little touch broke it that bad. Must be rougher there than it looks.

Good repair job Will.
Since I didn't fly my little biplane.. I had to make some YT content.. Its funny how content appears at the right time...

Nobody was flying.. so...... I had to give it a whirl.... I was surprised it broke too..

I thought about doing a real hinge.. But I was in a hurry.. Foamtac was done a solid job on other planes in the past..
Great video as always, thanks!
Funny how YT content just finds a way to show up...
Good Repair Will! Things Like This Will Happen! Happy Flying!
Thanks.... I should buy foamtac by the gallon....
FoamTac for the win!
Love that stuff..
I used Foam2Foam to fix the elevator half on my Eflight 70mm F16 and ~40 flights later it’s still good.
F2F is a good glue too.. It tested well compared to FoamTack and UHU Por...
Top 🔝 👌🏼

Nice repair but you could have flown a real rc airplane (one made out of wood). I bet then it would not have happened.
Oh, don't go into the Balsa vs Foam debate. They both fly and are fun...😎
Real men fly balsa Aircraft
