One point that need to be understand is buying an another house is an investment. Like any other business, there are risks associated with that and here the risk is tenant not paying rent for 6 months. So while making this investment you have to consider all the risks and then if you can manage these risks then only invest. As an example if someone opens a restaurant but there are not enough customers to cover his expenses then bank is not going to say its ok you don’t pay the mortgage. He is obliged to pay that. It is up to the investor to make an informed decision.

Landlords are already Suppressing Tenants unnecessarily. Tenants rights must never be taken away. Landlords already have too many rights over Tenants. Landlords are doing Business and there are costs associated with doing that Business. Get out of rental Business if you don't like LANDLORDS AND TENANTS RULES STAY INTACT.
I think the rule should be one family can own only 2 places and then these people will run away people are not able to afford home and these people want to increase the deposit we are not away when robbery and theft will increase. I think this petition will go no where firstly the prices of house and land has to come down and a renter is not responsible to pay a landlord mortgage. If they are not able to pay it they should sell the place.

ਮੈਂ 2018 ਚ ਆਯਾ ਸੀ , ਓਸ ਟਾਈਮ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਲੈਂਡਲਾਰਡ 2 months da , first and last month ਦਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਆ। ਨਾ ਕੇ 2 weeks ਦਾ i am not against landlords too. They also have genuine concerns believing in it

My kid landlord also torching ,but being international student who is alone ,no choice but to leave ,rent they charged but sometime wifi slow ker dena,heat low ker dene , unnecessary allegations,what to do ,now legal notice,can u imagine single child who is paying rent on first day of month ,just being tortured so that higher rent te next tenent rekha jai

There must be lawful reason for increase of 14:51 14:54 rent and vacation of rented properties During the lease period the vacation and rent increase must be avoided. No property is to be rented without legal agreement for fixed period MC must fix rent per square feet floor are as per location to safe gaurd the rights of renters

If u can't afford to pay 1800$ for one bedroom apartment you should not come to Canada by showing fake bank balances. That's called fraud.
Municipalities don't want secondary units...secondary unit tenants alone make up more than 40% of official city population...that creates significant strain on city infrastructure...city isn't getting extra tax revenue for catering to 40% extra population. So city's solution is to make it a strain on landlords so they stop renting all together.
Landlord should not depend on rent as the prime source to pay their mortgage. Rent must be governed by the City to stop the greed…
Tenants should rent apartments not basements. Pay 1800$ for one bedroom apartment instead 700$ to rent a room in basement.
