Okay - I came back to this video to comment and thank you! Because of your first video I took up mystery shopping in April. I just received my April pay yesterday and all my shops were approved (I was so nervous about a misstep on my part). And I netted $199 with minimal effort. I am so encouraged to double this in May. Thank you so, so much for sharing this info! You both are appreciated!
kendram5 Woohoo! That is great!!! Thank you so much for coming back to let us know of your progress. We are so happy to hear of testimonies such as yours. Keep up the great work. It's #HustleSeason!!!
Kendra did you actually get that money deposited into your bank account? I was hoping to see a final followup from them as to whether or not they received payment.
Just some comments to add on to your video: 1. First off, it's great to hear the successes you two had in mystery shopping. These two videos were well-made and accurate! 2. Comments on the Silver or Gold Certification: It will be a hit of miss if it'll actually help and pay for itself. I personally do not have either of the certifications. For new shoppers, maybe it'll help grab you a shop or two before someone else; however, note that the mystery shopping world is built on your reputation and relationship with the company, schedulers, etc. When you've built you reputation with a scheduler (many are independent contractors too who work for multiple companies, like us shoppers!), the certifications become more and more meaningless. But do note that the fee for the certification is a business expense you can deduct from your taxes! 3. Comments on printing: Save paper and save the pages as PDF documents. With flash drives becoming more and more affordable, you can save a ton of paper by NOT printing unless you absolutely need to. 4. As you build your reputation with schedulers and companies, you'll learn to concept of negotiating and "bonusing" an assignment. This will increase your profit in mystery shopping tremendously when you get the feel for the mystery companies deadlines for their clients (typically the "end of the month" is the deadline for many clients). If the mystery shopping company can't fill in shops that month, THEY WILL BONUS THEM AND ADD MORE TO THE SHOPPER'S PAY.
Y'all are such a blessing! I am single, but I want y'all (yes, I'm from Alabama...LOL) to know I admire the team work and commitment you exhibit. You're such an excellent example of a Christian marriage. Thank you both for being so selfless.
In regards to printing the shop details, i actually completed my first shop this weekend. WOOT WOOT! And i didnt print a single page. I read over it thoroughly and emailed it to myself as a .PDF so i can review it on my phone if needed. I completed and submitted the form electronically and scanned my receipts. Thanks you guys for all this valuable info and encouragement! :-)
Alright, I guess I'll jump in the fray and give a comment from a male perspective. I'm thrilled that I found your channel, it is great to see you guys as a couple handling your business. I was a mystery shopper about 17 years ago out in the Bay Area. I only went out on a few jobs because it was really difficult back then to drive to all these places spending my own money to complete the shop then have to wait to be reimbursed. To be honest I wish I had stuck with it. But I'll take the information you've given and make a go of it again. Thanks for the motivation to get my grind back in line.
Is there a 2016 or 2017 update to your Mystery Shopping experience and earnings? Are you still doing this/earning additional income? Thanks for sharing!
the fee is for certification. i understand. About ALL of the mystery shop companies ask if your certified. I wasn't sure if I should rush to do it, but after seeing this, I'll do it tomorrow. Thank you guys!
Brother Talaat! I'm your brother Jesse, I was one of the brothers you shouted out to as I as sat here with my wife checking out this video. It was very informational, and I believe this is something we could incorporate in our wealth building process. Thank you for the heads up! We'll be tuning in on Sunday night. Until then continue to be a blessing! And for my sister Tai! My name is Vickie . I stumbled upon your videos in search of information regarding garage sales and you guys gave a wealth of information with that. I love the excitement and unity you guys display and the fact that you really work as a team! I and my husband are blessed to have discovered your page and we will be subscribing! It is hustle season and I know that God lead me to your page because the information you have is just what we need! God bless you and continue to get freed up!
I am a professional mystery shopper. I can tell you that there are some companies that will offer you distance pay. In addition, your mileage may be deductible as a tax write off. Make sure you keep receipts for gas and associated expenses when conducting a shop and keep track of your mileage to and from your shop as well as the company you are shopping for to keep your records.
You don't have to use your social security number, you can use a tax id # that you get from the IRS. I would suggest making a email address exclusively for mystery shops because they can fill up your inbox .. Don't print out instructions copy and paste them in your phone. Check out this page for companies to work with www.volition.com/mysteryUSA1.html You can negotiate pay with most mystery shop companies especially if the shop is in small towns.
"rzashida"- thanks for Sharing this link. If you know more companies that I can work for as a mystery shopper; I would appreciate it if you gave me more companies. Thanks
I know I'm 4 years late and I'm MAD I didn't find out about you two sooner, but Talaat I'm definitely here for it all brother!!! I have a LOT of catching up to do!!!
I just wanted to say thank you for your videos. I recently left my "very" stressful job of 9+ years. I was on verge of a breakdown, so my husband and I prayed over our decision. I am now at the point of bringing in some extra income to help "us" out. Plus I miss having some pocket money. Anyways, I have been praying and asking GOD for something simple to do where I can still be at home too w/ my elderly Mom. I also work part time as an AVON sales rep. I believe this Mystery Shopping opportunity will help me increase my skills and allow me to come out more of my shyness. Thank you again for your Christian support and boosting. I shall give it a try, and will continue w/ your videos and website......
+Kim Davis Thank you so much for sharing with us! We are so happy that God led you to our videos. It is our prayer that we serve so many people with our gifts.
Awesome! We shop for other companies too. Take a look at "Part 1" and we included instructions in our description box. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching.
I love this! I randomly found you all on Instagram! I'm 24 and am in Grad School. I plan to pay all of my debt (car note and student loans) after I graduate. I cannot work while in school so this is an awesome side gig to do while I'm in school! So thankful to the Holy Spirit for his way leading me to things! Keep it up! I'm going to tell my boyfriend about you all too!
Talaat I'm with brother. There are some guys watching and taking your advice. My wife passed back in November and we have two young children. So it's time to hustle hard for my babies. I'm really going to get into this mystery shopping. My question is: If your consider and independent contractor could you set with a tax ID number?
God Bless you both... Your inspiring, and giving me hope that I will be able to survive with this type of job... Thank you so much for your advice, tips, information, warnings, etc.
Hi there I signed up for MSPA, but not sure how to start shopping, do I wait for them to give me an assignment or is it something I'm missing?? Thanks in advance!
I just started looking into this MSPA company. There does seem to be a lot of charges. The membership now is $30 and all of the certification courses cost money. I've seen as much as $120 if you're not a paid member. Most of the courses appear to be $35 if you're a paid member and $45 for free membership.
My husband and I just watched your video, and are excited that you're excited about the endless possibilities with mystery shopping. He (my husband) wanted to personally reach out to Talaat and say that he is with him, not only as a brother in Christ, but also as one who is about having financial freedom. We look forward to watching more of your videos. Blessings to you both.
Where's the 3rd video on the mystery shopping? I am signing up for this thanks to you to wipe out $25k of debt I've incurred with my business. I really want to see that 3rd video!
Even though you'd be considered and independent contractor, because there isn't any liability, you wouldn't suggest obtaining a business license, right?
Omgoodness......I asked God to show me ways to supplement my income to stay at home more with our son. I work 1st & hubby works 3rd ....also,we homeschool. This is Fabulously on time!!! Praising my God! Thank you !!
When you signed up and filled out the application for mystery shopping, what did you put when asked "Please indicate in what capacity you are associated with other Mystery Shopping companies."? I am trying to sign up now and one of the sites are asking me this question, but I haven't signed up yet for others, but I plan on it and I don't want it to look like I'm lying. Should I put yes I'm independent contractor or just put no? Or does it really matter? I might be over thinking it. :) And thanks for both videos about this! I am so excited to start this and try it! I am looking for a way to supplement my income because of being in clincials and having a hard time finding work around that schedule. I am hoping this works out great and would love to keep this around after I am done with school and use it as a second job and get our debt snowball rolling again! You guys are awesome and I love your videos and inspiration and everything you've done! Keep up the great work and God bless!
Antonia Thornton When filling out the applications we are always honest at where we stand at the current time. It's ok to put 'no'. Keep up the great work!
You two are such a blessing! Thank you for allowing God to use you to serve others by sharing such wonderful and possibly life changing information! I have always wanted to be a mystery shopper as a side hustle but got discouraged by the scams. I think your video may be a sign for me to consider this once again! Blessings!
I hear what you are saying... but what does one do when married to a man for 25+ yrs. there's no LOVE.. living in the same house as roomates in separate quarters.. when one desires to serve the lord and the other does not, when one has the fear of God and the other seems not..??? I feel PRAYED OUT.. I apologize if I offend you or anyone.. not my intent. ty for sharing the word of the Lord and videos.. GB
+julia Rodriguez Julia, if your husband loves you, then work with that and never give up on him. Who knows if sooner or later, by your lifestyle, that he might decide that your way is best. Hang in there and encourage your self by just praising God for all of His goodness. Thank Him and begin verbally praising Him and you will be amazed how your spirit will be lifted and the gloominess will vanish, as you continue to praise the Lord out loud.
You make me so excited to try this out! I work part time making about 6-800 a month and want to bring in more money. I had no idea you could make this much money doing this!
My husband and I have been binge watching your videos and we are loving your financial tips and contemplating mystery shopping. Thanks, you guys have us motivated.
I LOVED this video! You are so right about your attitude being so pivotal in your financial success. I know that at this moment, I have too much debt. But I can't go backwards. I can wallow or I can see this as an opportunity for greatness. "Challenge ACCEPTED!"
I'm wondering along with many others about your 3rd video on Mystery Shopping. You mentioned in your video of April 2, 2015 that you were going to do a 3rd video but it's been over 1 1/2 years and no video nor have you made any replies to anyone asking about the video. Why is that??
Since this is considered 1099 Income, gas and mileage to the shops specifically and back would be deductible. You should track your mileage. There are a number of apps that do this.
I love this! I done this in the past and I am a stay a mom/ office manager of my hubby's business and this would help out a lot especially around Christmas. I was scared to do only one type which was grocery store..... just my nerves. idk way! They no longer do them for that particular store but many legit companies I signed for send assignments all the time and I never really opened the email. But I going to give this another try.......question are they any assignments that you came across allow children? Last I checked some did not. I have a ten month old now, then my youngest was 5. Just wondering. Thanks for sharing!
MY LIFE FULL OF HOPE When you say allow children, are you referring to allowing you to bring them with you, while performing the shop? If so yes and no. Some shops allow you and some do not. Hope this helps. Thanks so much for sharing and watching.
I tried to register as an organization and saw a membership fee of over $1,300... What did I do wrong? I have a customer ID. Does that mean I can go ahead an pursue assignments? Should I have registered as an independent contractor? Lookig forward to seeing part III of this series. Maybe you can do a mock walk-through for beginners.
I am contemplating a shop and it is asking me to upload a receipt but I am only going for a car dealership visit not purchasing anything. So what would I upload
Good day. I signed up for mystery shopping but can't find any shots near me. I selected the independent contractors for $0 and checked out. Bust cannot find stores near me in Canada
I just found your channel yesterday and I've already learned a lot. Did you ever pay the fee to that company? If so, how did that go, I'm considering getting into this. Thank you.
I'm male. I just wish my wife had the same goal at saving money as me. I was debt free before I got married in '99 for 8 years and I loved it. My wife on the other hand has never been debt free so she cannot relate. i was surfing last week when I ran across one of your videos and now I like to learn any possible way to saving money. My wife and I started couponing last year and sometimes you can get stuff for free.
sfcostner Welcome to our channel! We have a sit down video every Sunday night at 7pm CST. Have your wife sit down with you to watch. Thanks for watching!
This is good information. I am a divorced man with a small physical disability. I am pondering how i can do some of these side hustles that are talked about on your show.
His And Her Money Oh me too I'm anxious to hear your thoughts about the addtl $25 to pay. Also I would put that down as a business expense when you do your taxes.
It's like I was meant to see this. I recently had 2 baby boys, bought a home and am a stay at home mom. With only 1 income and student loan, credit card, car, and new baby debt my husband and I need to find other ways to bring money in. We will be watching these videos together to decide if it's for us! Thank you! But did u ever get that 3rd video up?
As an independent contractor delivery driver. I keep track of my mileage daily and keep my gas receipts. This is my first year that I will have to do taxes so I don't know much about it but it may help your business.
I've research on mystery shopping. They say NEVER pay money upfront to become a mystery shopper, because legitimate shops will NEVER ask for money upfront. I say this because you mentioned the $25 fee someone said they had to pay. I do apartment mystery shopping and I love it, but the reports are very lengthy.
+Elisa Fisher We actually mentioned that very same thing...never pay money up front. The $25 that you are referencing is to the mystery shop organization for members. But, you don't have to pay that fee to get shops. It's more of a club where you can get extra certifications and such. Make sure you check out Part 1 to this video as well. Thanks for watching!
Great video, lovely couple, such positive attitude and thorough advise! Nice to see this from a shopper's perspective, I am always in the client's shoes, so it is refreshing to see the other end of the exercise. Keep it up guys!
Great idea! Not trying to pay off my mortgage yet, because I have rental property. One of my properties will be paid off next year, then I will take that profit and accelerate down the next property and so on. What we need extra cash for is our dream trips, next vehicles and college tuition for daughter and pay cash.
I did see a listing for a job to attend church and it was about an hour from me. It says on the job that gas / mileage is negotiable if you live outside of the area. It paid 45.00 for the job. It's too far for me to drive but I wanted to let you know that at least one company did offer to reimburse gas.
i signed up for the free account but im kind of confused. I dont see where i can chose the companies to shop for, and i dont see any information in regards to payment. all it asked me for was address phone number (general registry things) then there was a survey kind of, asking about how many and what other mystery shops i've done. i did that, then it took me to my account home page, and idk what to do from there....
just wanted to tell you guys how much you are a blessing to me and my fam.Its hard not having the knowledge growing up about money and going through the bumps and brusies.BUT You guys are a blessing,LOVE IT
His And Her Money, Have you all paid the $ 25.00 for the Mystery shopper Membership yet? How has the mystery shopping been since 2015. I plan to use the mystery shopping to do work from home while working on Baby Step 2! Thanks for the info on this MSPA---I didn't even know there was such an association! I'm sharing your PART 1 & 2 Videos with several friends and relatives to do in their spare time as well!
Great video very inspirational. Just a quick shout out from one guy to another, I'm with you man. Keep up the great job with the videos. Thanks again for the insights.
I'm new to this but I have built such a rapport with one company that they always give 4 extra $ when shops are little far but not crazy far and they already know how far I am willing to drive
Thanks so much for doing the 2 mystery shop videos. After watching your videos I got signed up last month and I made a little over $100 my first month. I'm a teacher so I will definitely be a mystery shopping maniac the next 2 months we have off.
Thanks for the great information. I am about to start doing this and I would appreciate it if you would talk about doing the narratives in the reports. Thanks again!

Justin E. Thank you so much for sharing! This is great advice.
Did you guys ever do a part 3 where you did pay the $25?
Y'all are such a blessing! I am single, but I want y'all (yes, I'm from Alabama...LOL) to know I admire the team work and commitment you exhibit. You're such an excellent example of a Christian marriage. Thank you both for being so selfless.

Hey have you guys done an update to this topic ?
Hey, did you ever make the 3rd video after paying the $25?
Hi there I signed up for MSPA, but not sure how to start shopping, do I wait for them to give me an assignment or is it something I'm missing??
Thanks in advance!
I just started looking into this MSPA company. There does seem to be a lot of charges. The membership now is $30 and all of the certification courses cost money. my concern that it is not a scam-thank you for clarifying

How did it work out for you?
as a 1099 contractor you can deduct your mileage against the 1099 when you file your taxes.
You two are such a blessing! Thank you for allowing God to use you to serve others by sharing such wonderful and possibly life changing information! I have always wanted to be a mystery shopper as a side hustle but got discouraged by the scams. I think your video may be a sign for me to consider this once again! Blessings!

I just love y’all , thank you for these videos I would have never thought to take up mystery shopping.
Kim Gaines yes your right .
Is there an updated video on this topic? Very interested to see how things went?
Hi. Just came across your channel. Will look into the Mystery Shopper. Thanks for all of this information. 🌷📣🎇
She looks like Tracy Ellis Ross so pretty you guys are awesome thanks for the info 😊
Love it!!
Just found you all and I"m loving every single thing I hear!!
You both are so knowledgeable!!
Thank you so much!!!!
+Cindy Rogers Thank you!
I am contemplating a shop and it is asking me to upload a receipt but I am only going for a car dealership visit not purchasing anything. So what would I upload
Hello there! Did you keep doing this?
I watched your video and what i heard and saw was awesome.I going to look at the rest.
Good day. I signed up for mystery shopping but can't find any shots near me. I selected the independent contractors for $0 and checked out. Bust cannot find stores near me in Canada
Talaat cracked me up at the end. My husband DOES watch. But he won't comment; he's the quiet type. : ) Thank you for this great information!
Wondering if you guys still Mystery Shopping???
This is good information. I am a divorced man with a small physical disability. I am pondering how i can do some of these side hustles that are talked about on your show.
Can you do an update on how mystery shopping is going?
Roshanna Boyd Will do! Thanks
His And Her Money Oh me too I'm anxious to hear your thoughts about the addtl $25 to pay. Also I would put that down as a business expense when
you do your taxes.
I'm probably being a bit dense here, but I don't get the screen shot (also, how to do a screen shot?) taking combined with the voice recorder...?
It's like I was meant to see this. I recently had 2 baby boys, bought a home and am a stay at home mom. With only 1 income and student loan, credit card, car, and new baby debt my husband and I need to find other ways to bring money in. We will be watching these videos together to decide if it's for us! Thank you! But did u ever get that 3rd video up?
As an independent contractor delivery driver. I keep track of my mileage daily and keep my gas receipts. This is my first year that I will have to do taxes so I don't know much about it but it may help your business.
Kayla Prosser Absolutely! Thanks for sharing.
I have been an independent contractor before and I kept track of my mileage only .using stride App .
Thank you, you guys have incredible advice for both me and my girlfriend and again thank you
Great video, lovely couple, such positive attitude and thorough advise! Nice to see this from a shopper's perspective, I am always in the client's shoes, so it is refreshing to see the other end of the exercise. Keep it up guys!
hi how did the mystery shop membership go? would you recommend?
How do you opt out of paying the $25.00 For the moment?
+Andrea Evans You don't have to pay the $25...follow the steps in the description box. The steps are included in part 1 to this series.
Great idea! Not trying to pay off my mortgage yet, because I have rental property. One of my properties will be paid off next year, then I will take that profit and accelerate down the next property and so on. What we need extra cash for is our dream trips, next vehicles and college tuition for daughter and pay cash.
***** Your doing great! Thanks for watching.
Today is June 1st 2020 the company is now charging $200 for a independent contractor position
Love your channel, thank you
Thanks guys! I already signed up with the first links you had posted. Also told my sister about it. Very excited!
vickyl2104 Awesome! It's #HustleSeason.
A few of these companies have apps now, so you can have all of your information on your phone now. I have 3 and it does help alot, much easier
Great video; thanks for sharing
+Eric Segura Thanks for watching!
I did see a listing for a job to attend church and it was about an hour from me. It says on the job that gas / mileage is negotiable if you live outside of the area. It paid 45.00 for the job. It's too far for me to drive but I wanted to let you know that at least one company did offer to reimburse gas.
Erika May Awesome! Thanks for sharing and watching.
Thanks for the info.
Great video..but have you heard called Gapbusterinc? I received a ck and I don't know if this is real or fake..thanks
i signed up for the free account but im kind of confused. I dont see where i can chose the companies to shop for, and i dont see any information in regards to payment. all it asked me for was address phone number (general registry things) then there was a survey kind of, asking about how many and what other mystery shops i've done. i did that, then it took me to my account home page, and idk what to do from there....
Hello to my favorite couple...use your tips all the time...have you signed up with MSPA yet??? Haven't seen a follow up video yet part 3
Can you take the mileage off of your taxes though if adequately documented?
Another great presentations. Thanks.
At the end of this video they state that they're going to do a follow-up video-does anyone know the title of that video? Thank you very much!

His And Her Money, Have you all paid the $ 25.00 for the Mystery shopper Membership yet? How has the mystery shopping been since 2015.
I plan to use the mystery shopping to do work from home while working on Baby Step 2!

I'm new to this but I have built such a rapport with one company that they always give 4 extra $ when shops are little far but not crazy far and they already know how far I am willing to drive
Mz Dee have you received actual payment yet?
Adrianne Holyfield yes maam
Mz Dee thank you so much for replying.
This is some great information, thank you so much for sharing. I am strongly considering the type of hustle. I will be sharing this with my husband.
+juanetta jackson Awesome!
I'm guessing the time of shopping, down to the second, is so they can check security cameras for your entry to the store...
or check receipts on their system...
Thanks for the incite on mystery shopping, will be definitely applying to your highlighted sites. -Thomas
+Joy Doane Awesome!
Thanks so much for doing the 2 mystery shop videos. After watching your videos I got signed up last month and I made a little over $100 my first month. I'm a teacher so I will definitely be a mystery shopping maniac the next 2 months we have off.
Regina M. Awesome! Keep up the great work.
Love you guys!
AMATEUR DECORATING LIKE A PRO Awww thanks so much!
Thanks for the great information. I am about to start doing this and I would appreciate it if you would talk about doing the narratives in the reports. Thanks again!
birdybobo We plan to do a follow up video in the future. Thank you for watching!
You are welcome! Thank you.
I did this five years ago but got scared of the tax penalty. Your video is making me think I should start again. Thanks
Hames The way we look at it, it's still more money than what we started out with...even after we pay the taxes. Thanks for watching!
You guys are awesome!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
jennram1 Thank you!
