This was a great trip, thanks. Appreciated the windscreen wipers sadly minus washers but never mind. Also appreciated ALL the station names. I had copied your list from here then voila you had them marked in the video. Lots of questions, today, sorry. 1. Where did the line go off to before Kungsor? 2.Another line coming in close to Kungsor where from? 3.Saw another of those late crossing gate closures where you had to go slow to avoid hitting any traffic. Have noticed that in a few Swedish videos in different places. 4. Where was that line coming from on the right just prior to Arboga? 5. Lastly another line coming in on the right near the end of the video? Sorry for all the questions. I wish all the videos had the maps at the start like this one did. I print them all up to see where it all is in Sweden.

Hi Geoffrey, you should always open the website www.openrailwaymap.org/ in a second window when taking a cab ride. There you would have found the answers to your questions 1, 2, 4 and 5 yourself. The website allows you to "zoom in" to individual industrial sidings, as well as to view infrastructure, speed limits, signalling and much more.

Stationen i Valskog verkar ha en ganska fin plattform trots att inga tåg stannar. Den kan inte vara jättegammal. Har tänkt på denna flera gånger då jag har åkt förbi. Är den en rest från några nedlagda planer på uppehåll eller har den helt enkelt klarat sig ovanligt bra från den "gamla tiden"?
Enligt wikipedia stängdes Valskog i augusti 1996 så den har nog som du säger klarat sig väldigt bra
I personally think it would be great if a new line on the Stockholm Commuter rail (Pendeltåg) to Nykvarn was opened. It would branch off at at Södertälje Syd (the commuter rail platform) that would get an extended platform for longer trains and connect to Svealandsbanan somewhere and get double track to Nykvarn station which would get a third terminus platform for the commuter trains.
And with that, you could also develop nykvarn a lot thanks to the easier connection to Södertälje and Stockholm.
The future will tell! :)
@@SwedishRailcam Yeah, but honestly i doubt that it will happen. They will just do the "Not enough money" excuse.
@@Bregott07 det finns redan en förbindelse från Södertälje syd nedre till Svealandsbanan. Sen kan man bygga en 120m lång perrong med samma spärrlinje som befintlig plattform till Södertälje syd vid enkelspåret, och köra turen vidare till Nykvarn, Läggesta och Strängnäs för lokala pendlare. Kanske även ett eller två till lokala stopp. Om man verkligen vill spendera stora slantar kan man återuppbygga den gamla järnvägen Södertälje-Åkers styckebruk-Strängnäs/Eskilstuna (banvallen finns kvar) och köra via småtätorterna.
