He was the biggest, baddest man on the planet! There is no BIGGER for Michael because he is already the BIGGEST and greatest. Listen to what I'm saying, what is greater than the greatest! It was true back then and it's still true to this day. That is why people like Kendrick still mention his name. Michael's impact on the world was phenomenal, he did all of that without any social media. The younger generations still watch his videos to this day in amazement. What's also amazing is the impact that MJ had on this world WITHOUT using any social media.

Yeah, I think he may have flaunted that shit early in his career (2012-2013) arguably his hungriest years, but as he went own he just stopped caring bout that shit. Just like Cole
+David Azmy I'm not saying Cole peaked with this last album.. but I don't really know where J. Cole can go from here. Forest Hills Drive was the most down to earth, soulful shit he's done, ever. I don't know where else he can go besides just building up his Dreamville camp
Kendrick, for that level of humility and realness and respect towards a legend such as Michael Jackson, you have proven to be a very valuable and amazing human being. Truly. Just WOW.
The take is more metaphorical. Drake would be the “Michael” he’s greater than. I don’t think Kendrick believes he himself would outlive Michael (even though he thinks prince did) but Kendrick thinks he can outlive drake
When he said influence I instantly thought Misusing you're influence, sometimes I did the same, abusing my power full of resentment, resentment that turned into a deep depression...........lol
Kendrick is so humble, he said he doesn't want to beat Michaels record without putting out that work first. It just shows he's got so much more to show us, I feel blessed that I'm 18 witnessing Kendricks prime!
I'm the type of person who is obsessed with older, jazzy type of music; really any type of music before 2000 (ironically the year I was born) This new album was that with a lot of rap, which I surprisingly LOVE! It is really a work of art that album. And I respect his so much more than before. The fact he is nominated for 11 Grammys and would not want to surpass Michael, how could you not respect the man?
This album deserves Album of the Year. It hits America in the heart and the mouth with constant reference to our dark history, and anthemic songs of self-love and triumph in the face of the adversity that is this systemic racism in our country. Every time I listen to this album I'm sent to another world. A world I still get surprised other people visit.
graceholt35 why are you so pressed? im not tryna take away from what the man did, I know how many ppl MJ impacted but your just saying that cus he's dead or your a die hard and you don't wanna believe somebody could surpass him, but really you don't know that for a fact it might not be kendrick but regardless of how music sounds now you don't know who can come next, MJ was a brilliant artist and his music will never die but hes not a God so chill.
Every generation has its great legend. Michael Jackson was great and amazing but someone will come along and break his record it may be next year or it may be in 20 years but it will happen. And when it does that doesn’t make Michael Jackson less.
Rainbow Purple the reason why it doesn’t make them as Great as him is because when he did it, it was DIFFICULT. Being the first superstar black musical artist ever (first black superstar after Muhammad Ali period), the biggest celebrity there ever was when there were so many racial barriers (he was the first black person on MTV for Pete’s sake, came and shook the music scene) and then went and broke every musical record there was including being the first person ever to debut #1 on the Hot 100 in the mid 90s past his “peak” - despite the lies spread about him, the media absolutely witch hunting him, he still managed to be a king because no one can deny a sweet man and good influential music. That’s why he’s the king of pop, frankly the king of modern (post classical) music imo. That influence...from the influence of hiphop to modern pop, even having a large amount backup dancers is a Michael & Janet Jackson thang.
Huey You can't surpass geniuses. Other geniuses will come, yeah, but just b/c Picasso was a genius, his genius never surpassed Leonardo's genius. Mozart's genius was never surpassed by Beethoven's. They all are relevant in their unique ways, up to this day. So yes, NOBODY will ever be on MJs level, what he created was unique and sg nobody can duplicate. Another genius will create some other unique body of art, while MJ's art will remain relevant for its own uniquness. Sg like that. And as others have already pointed out: MJ was no God, but no ordinary human being, either.
Rainbow Purple It's not about records. ARTISTIC value is not about records or breaking them. Even if MJs all records will be broken within 2 yrs his ART will live on. It's so stupid we measure artists by prizes and records...

Thats why I love Kanye for his cockiness.

I've never seen Kendrick Lamar showing off his diamond ring or diamond necklace or his lambo or Ferrari. Compton rappers are the realest 💯👍🏼
Facts i don’t think i’ve ever seen him with any fancy jewelry or flashy designer stuff
And he looks fresh as a lettuce
Yeah, I think he may have flaunted that shit early in his career (2012-2013) arguably his hungriest years, but as he went own he just stopped caring bout that shit. Just like Cole
With no disrespect to today's artists but none of them can surpass the King Of Pop and the best selling album of ALL TIME .. MJ is the GOAT
Your opinion
Elvis Presley and Lil Wayne have passed Michael Jackson up though........
+Kyle Biller , LOL Elvis?? The guy that ripped off artist like Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters and James Brown? Elvis was vastly overrated and HE knew it.
Damien C Yet he still is on top of every billboard statistic
+Kyle Biller, Well Gee golly I wonder why... Elvis was a talentless thief. King of Rock? Lol, He couldn't lace Jimi Hendrix boots.
& 8 years later he's still the biggest name in rap 🐐
mordern rap*
Kendrick can’t fathom his own greatness. He made the greatest musical piece of all time.
most great artists are like that
Yup
Hits different after “Prince outlive Mike Jack”
Me: listens to TPAB about 40 times
Kendrick: “influence”
Me: creams pants*
The way he said it is like asmr lol
Never knew this kind person could make those kind of diss track. Don't poke the dragon.
I love when people say music sucks nowadays. Its because you're only listening to the mainstream stuff. Dig deeper.
Not UA-cam being messy lmmmaaaaooooo
This is craaaaazy after this week
the youtube algorithm is funny as hell
K Dot be rockin his new Reebok collabs. That shit is fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥
MJ is the huge legend, his legacy are BIG and invincible. Respect to the King of POP
Kendrick gets his finally! Next is JCole lol
I think Cole is capable of making a classic like Kendrick, he just needs that little help which is why I'm anticipating the K-dot and Cole album
+David Azmy I'm not saying Cole peaked with this last album.. but I don't really know where J. Cole can go from here. Forest Hills Drive was the most down to earth, soulful shit he's done, ever. I don't know where else he can go besides just building up his Dreamville camp
+Egal Pena imo Kendrick is alot more complex with his songs, portraiting feeling through story and soundscape as apposed to being deep on the surface.
+Egal Pena hey great artists find a way. and I have no doubt jcole will keep making great music
+Marble144 There is no next
not yt recommending this to me man yall shady
It's a machine. The machine just knows that Kendrick is being highly sought after at the moment so it feeds people with Kendrick related content.
Kendrick, for that level of humility and realness and respect towards a legend such as Michael Jackson, you have proven to be a very valuable and amazing human being. Truly. Just WOW.
"I can't fathom being as great as Michael"
- Kendrick Lamar (2016)
"Prince outlived Mike Jack"
- Kendrick Lamar (2024)
"...without putting out the work"
The take is more metaphorical. Drake would be the “Michael” he’s greater than. I don’t think Kendrick believes he himself would outlive Michael (even though he thinks prince did) but Kendrick thinks he can outlive drake
@@poetryismyting8854I dont know maan, outliving Drake after dropping diss that hard at him might be a problem.
When he said influence I instantly thought
Misusing you're influence, sometimes I did the same, abusing my power full of resentment, resentment that turned into a deep depression...........lol
I love how he's so Humble and tells every *sweet lady* to be Humble.
When he talks, it sounds like he's rapping...
Kendrick is so humble, he said he doesn't want to beat Michaels record without putting out that work first. It just shows he's got so much more to show us, I feel blessed that I'm 18 witnessing Kendricks prime!
1:45 that is the cutest shit I’m so in love
Same 😂
even the way he normally speaks sounds lit asf
I LOVE HOW HUMBLE HE IS ❤️ ambition is great but his humbleness makes him greater
NO ONE CAN SURPASS MICHAEL JACKSON. A LEGEND.
💯
eventually he will
Ok why is no one talking about how cute he is when he giggles
Crazy cause he’s still the biggest name in music 8 years later
whos here after the euphoria diss?
He's so nice!!!!!! He doesn't wanna surpass the king!!!!!!!!!!! This man is very awesome. My favorite rapper now :D
Who is here after the Drake diss?
greatest rapper of all time
Ppl have misunderstood Kendrick’s lyric they think he’s dissing mj when he’s not it’s just proof that it’s a bunch a kids entertaining this beef
kendrick has such a distinct voice that you can recognize just by hearing and im addicted to it
Are we all here right now?
yes
Where Are you man please come back!!!!!!!!!!
i listened to tpab for the first time yesterday. easily top 10 album i've ever heard. a masterpiece in songwriting and lyricism.
youtube algorithm knows whats happening
He stilled ended the convo with: "Kendrick Lamar the biggest name in music". I'm like nah, that's still Michael Jackson
Absolutely.
Exactly
Kendrick: (breathe)
Audience: 👏🗣️
Who ready for that Kendrick/Cole album tho... Good Kid Cole World
Or... To Pimp A Born Sinner.
+Damien C That's one hell of a title...
+Damien C those albums don't deserve to be in the same sentence. An all time great album in music versus a mediocre hip hop album
+Eaglesfan41, But you got to admit it sounds better.
+EagleZtoTheGrave, thanks bro.
Hey sexy
algorithm wild for suggesting this rn
SAME
@@ezra3085you are so fine
UA-cam knows exactly what they doing
Every time he speaks I feel like he’s about to say “ I remember you was conflicted”
Kendrick’s smile 🩷
no one will surpass Michael Jackson. NO ONE WILL EVER be on his level
graceholt35 why are you so pressed? im not tryna take away from what the man did, I know how many ppl MJ impacted but your just saying that cus he's dead or your a die hard and you don't wanna believe somebody could surpass him, but really you don't know that for a fact it might not be kendrick but regardless of how music sounds now you don't know who can come next, MJ was a brilliant artist and his music will never die but hes not a God so chill.
