Hey, here’s an interview idea… how about Rusty at D&D Exhaust during Sturgis. He’s a phenomenal interview around exhaust and performance, you guys collaborate with your second to none cams, and his exhaust, the proper dyno-testing, and he’s opening a new big facility in Ft Worth, TX. This would be an EPIC interview.
I took my first road trip from Florida to the 120th Festival. I distinctly recall a video of the RTV mechanical arm and a claim that the beed from the mechine was a precise amount to prevent this problem. The more I learn, the more cynical I become about the Harley design philosophy of "Designed Obsolescence." I did a Woods 22XE S&S Camchest Stage 2 Plus on my 2020; in Boy, in re,trospect the oil pan shouldn’t been pulled to first remove sludge and sedimethereviousreviouse 2K miles it was broken in with, and secondly, to inspect for RTV! I performed a 3-holen on my Boy Fat boy and my Road Glide and missed an opportunity to check for RTV in the oil removed or at the filter which I promptly discarded without a second thought. Thank you kindly Sir, for your recommendations, you help us become better at servicing our bikes. I am currently consideringidering a Reaper 508 Fueling Race cam chest pared with an ,S&S 129 for my 2021 Road Glide, or the Zipper's 124 Muscle. Traveling Tall's videos on location at Zippers is the only reason for this consideration. Very Respectfully, ET1(SS/SW/MTS) US Navy, Ret.
Really…Really you can’t believe that MoCo would put it out like that. They took away the Timken Bearing, they all but dismissed the twin cam chain tensioner debacle, the M8’s have plastic tapper cuff, plastic breather, more metric parts (which I happen to be for the metric system) so you need to be sure which tool is correct, the early sumping issues, you can look at most M8’s and see sealant on the outside of the case but this is the point where you question MoCo? I get it though you would think that they would do better but unfortunately it’s easier for them to look the other way.
@@CMFS101 I posted this two years ago. lol. I’ve had a 2020 soft tail standard, and now own a 2021 road glide i bought new in 2021. I know about everything you mentioned, but have had zero of said issues. Lifter cuffs are plastic, but I’m not drag racing man. Just cruising. Neither of my bikes had the sealant problem either.
Loved your input on Traveling Tall’s page for the latest upgrades. Would love to see more content from you guys here on your channel too. Your attention to design, detail is exceptional.
for crying out loud, the oil filters open at 8 psi, the motor idles at 12-13 psi. the filter will never catch any of these particles. 99-06 twin cams have same problem with timing chain tensioner material. plugged the rockers, piston oilers, lifters, pump damage. oil filters are a joke because they are always in bypass.
@@williamyoung3340 Seen what the pistons get plugged on Twin Cams? I feel like the sealant between the cases was better. The cam chain tensioner system was a bit flawed with the spring and sharp chain. Especially if your cam plate relief had porosity and leaked.
Depends on what you want out of a bike. Also remember crate motors are still missing some parts. A well built motor by a reputable builder is the best way to go. Zippers Muscle kits are definitely a good way to go but insure you solidify the case with Timken Conversion and have Dark Horse or Zippers true your crank
I've seen this and couldn't understand how it would get past the filter being that the oil jets are fed out of the filter. The bypass valve!🤯who'd a thought?
Nothing gets by these guys at Zipper’s. Proud to share this video.
Hey we need more Zippers content!
Thanks again for all your hard work and dedication.

Wow that's pretty scary from a factory built engine. Good find there Dan.

Zippers is top notch! I have their 117” on my 08 Twin Cam Dyna. I can tell you they have great customer service
I just cant believe the motor company could release the engines like this. Great work guys. Now we know what to look out for.
"it's a Harley"

Good stuff! Are you connected with Amsoil Adam?! Great guy, and seems you two would be good support to what each of you are doing!
just installed the new s&s piston jet oilers for my m8
they look like a nice part.
WOW... just one more thing... Ready to go to Indian. Thanks yall are so onto things
lol unfortunately it seems like they have a better motor. It’s really to bad they quit building Victory’s

Never saw this in all my years of twin cams. I've been a Harley tech for 25 years

Now that talls bike is , 💯, I have a 21 roadking standard ready for your magic!!!!
Thanks for the Info guys
Harley = nice paint, budget build engines.
good video Danny
When is it better to install a crate motor vs doing a big bore kit???

Which brand filters are you recommending for stage 2 and which filter for large bore motors??
