Hi! I love your channel. I was wondering if the stalls for the horses were intentionally small (meaning that they just fit the horses standing up) or if it is simply because that`s how the barn was built. I know that horses don`t usually lay down but they do sometimes. It`s just curiosity. No criticism here. Thank you!
Wonderful. Fantastic. Best ever !! I love it when there is no, or minimal speaking. It makes me feel like I am really there. I can just sit back, relax, and become fully absorbed in the activities. Keep up the good work..
Those two boys are doing so good..standing and working so well together..enjoyed the Quiet video..PICTURES ARE TRULY WORTH A MILLION WORDS. LOV from South Alabama.
PG here Thank you for the long video. It is a treat every once in a while. From the time you get to your destination 5 minutes into the video, you drive the team deeper and deeper into the woods. A nice, slow walk. At 11:00 mins. I was thinking, Oh my, these horses have to pull a full load of logs out this same distance! Wow!
Seeing all the names above the stalls reminded me of Buck for some reason. If there is a horse heaven I'm sure he is there working as hard as he did on earth.
Much as I loved Baron’s flowing flaxen mane, I can see how much more practical his buzz cut is - I bet he feels cooler and experiences a lot less tugging on and tangling in his harness tack! Thanks for another excellent video!
My observation is a Great Logger/Teamster ( Jim Gordon ) with a pair of well trained horses ( Bill and Baron) working together to accomplish a good days harvest in the wood lot. A good man making his plan and working his plan to completion. Great Job on filming today's episode Brenda
Your quiet day of horse logging beautifully captures the serene and timeless bond between humans and nature. The dedication and care you put into this traditional method highlight the depth of your connection with the land. It’s inspiring to see such harmony and skill in action. And I am Floating Village Life.
You know Mr. Jim, your Colts and Skippy through Mrs. B's guidance has really come a long way. It just goes to show what knowledge, patience, and endurance bring out in animal performance. Great job
Barron looks great, looks like he’s come a long way. My question is: What is your favorite thing about Barron and what do you think he needs to do better if anything.
There is quite a large open area where trees have been. Do you let trees grow back naturally or do you have tree planting done? Despite the heavy work the horses have done, they walk out of the finished job at a brisk pace. That's horsemanship. The horses have toned power.
this was special because it was back to the woods again, we love it. just love watching the horses grab a tree snack, especially Baron..do you ever cut into your wedges? and how often do you have to fill the big tank of the excavator?. so fun today..thanks for being on.
Great video. You do so much running about, Brenda, to get all these fabulous shots. I think you need a good old pony to help with the job, At least, that is what I would be wanting. Greetings from Australia.
❤ My question: How long would you say it took to tack up the horses and get to the job site ? Of course you make this look so easy, but I know it's alot of work. Wow, you are in great physical shape, like you were 20yrs old.
20:30 how do you know what kind of tree that pine is for instance? Do you cut down any old tree or do ya know what kind of tree specifically youre looking for before you cut it down? How do ya know what it is before you cut it down? Hahaha 😅 how long did it take to learn a tree just by its bark? Thanks Brenda for the gr8 videography.! Thanks Jim for teaching me how to handle the horses so well too! You're a terrific horseman logger! 😅 Stay safe nd God bless you, Brenda nd the farm. I really enjoy being w the horses while Brenda combs them out especially, and all of the content, really..! ❤❤
Wow! how far off the road are you? What a nice ride. Flies and skeeters don't look that bad on this day. Those look like fir trees that we have here in MN.
Did you ever get a flat tire on that rig you sit on while you are in the woods working? Do you bring an extra tire with you to change it? Thank you. Great video.
At 10:16 I notice the evener is giving Barron a little advantage. Is Bill that much stronger? Do you keep the evener on the same setting for field work?
it looks so peaceful there!! I was wondering if you ever see any bears in the woods while you are working there? I live here in Northwest West Virginia and we do have a occasional black bear wonders across our yard, but they have never stuck around for long before the Great Perinese chases it away. we just moved into the woods a few months ago and are just starting to clear some of it away for a bigger clearing around the house.
When talking about Lady being Bred to the Beligian with a pulling back ground. You said something about If we keep Bree and June. Would you really part with any of your horses?
48 minutes in. After the horses are digging deep, pulling something heavy, is it typical they don't listen to backup? Essentially do they get a little stubborn when they are in the pulling mindset? I can tell they love pulling hard thank you for the content love it when I see you post new content thank you so much. As a young man trying to build a farm from scratch I dream of doing this someday.
This was a experience for me I had been to a lot of auctions but never seen anything like this before it was great to look at because my days of buying are over
Hi Brenda n’Jim,Q are you planning on keeping Bree as a future mare or just as a working horse she’s really a beautiful female with a great pedigree.!wonderful background.!!! Have a nice day always a pleasure watching your videos.God bless.!!!
Good morning Jim and Brenda. My question was regarding the evening chains to the long leather straps. If the chains were shorter then the double hooking would be unnecessary. I saw it around the 6 minute 30 period on the video. Always enjoy your channel so please stay safe. Cheers from northeast Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
5 min mark. I haven't seen you take more than 2 horses logging. Will you be taking Earl and/or Duke with you to start learning their logging trade? They seem to be doing very well on the farm.
I was just wondering if when the horses rub their head on one another....is it a sign of affection or dominance ? The team are looking very smart all trimmed manes and tails and in excellent shape. Thanks for the video.
@ 22 min., cold start, 6 pulls, pretty typical for a cold start, one pull thereafter...very good, carry on. Hate to see that red rot on such a nice log, dang it anyways. I was thinking that was your Doug fir from your Doug fir lot? Great video, it was horse logging that brought me to your channel, sure Love it All , but have a special love for being in the woods with the big timber. "Great Video" does not fully say it , but... Thank you. (Horses pulling hard and Strong!, Wow.)

Jim could thread a needle with that excavator and skid steer.
If you put your collars on upside down, you won't have to be so ruff. when you get them on, turn them over gently. It works. You seem to throw them on.
Ok, question at 40:19. Jim circled it twice is this like sapsucker (woodpecker) damage or fungus damage he spotted? Or is it a sign of the redrot he’s run into?
Hi Jim, #1 at about 10:00 we see the evener I noticed that Barron was hooked in the easy hole and Bill in the hard hole was that intentional? #2 at 47:45 you had 2 full trees hitched at first Barron was lungung then he seemed to settle and pull step for step with Bill, I noticed the same thing at the pulling competition. What is your opinion on how Barron is progressing?
Time stamp 13:43 Is this one of your properties? I almost think that it looks familiar but it's hard to tell with the changing seasons. It IS beautiful!
Let's hear your questions!
Love you guys ❤...
My question is what is the purpose of lady having 3 foals? Are u planing to sell them or keep them all?

Has Ken been retired? I haven't seen him working in a good while. Maybe I just missed a video though.
Does Jim have messenger on his phone or a way to contact him
What do the eye covers on the bridal do for the horses
Thank you Brenda for taking the time out of your day to film for us all...
Not much better than a quiet day in the woods. Thanks for taking us along.
Wonderful. Fantastic. Best ever !! I love it when there is no, or minimal speaking. It makes me feel like I am really there. I can just sit back, relax, and become fully absorbed in the activities. Keep up the good work..

Fresh off the award winning horse pull, back to work 😊
Seeing all the names above the stalls reminded me of Buck for some reason. If there is a horse heaven I'm sure he is there working as hard as he did on earth.
I am sure he is in horse heaven. I miss him too!
Same, he was a great old boy. I was appreciating Bill too, who was enjoying his butt scrubbing groom. RIP Buck.
I loved Buck !
Man, i'm perplexed! It's a heavy task and hard labour. For all partisipants. Please take my bow and respekt. From Belarus.
Good to have been watching the channel a while and knowing that Jim stops the horses when they need to catch their breath.
Hello how are you doing
Much as I loved Baron’s flowing flaxen mane, I can see how much more practical his buzz cut is - I bet he feels cooler and experiences a lot less tugging on and tangling in his harness tack! Thanks for another excellent video!
Hello how are you doing today
You guys ,,,Jim ,and Bill and Baron did great going down that muddy hill with that load.
My observation is a Great Logger/Teamster ( Jim Gordon ) with a pair of well trained horses ( Bill and Baron) working together to accomplish a good days harvest in the wood lot. A good man making his plan and working his plan to completion. Great Job on filming today's episode Brenda

Love when you go into the woods to log ,such pretty scenery.
Love and enjoy your videos. Jim working with the horses and logging
You know Mr. Jim, your Colts and Skippy through Mrs. B's guidance has really come a long way. It just goes to show what knowledge, patience, and endurance bring out in animal performance. Great job
I enjoy watching the logging process. Do you plan to work Earl and Duke in the forest this winter?
Hello how are you doing
Is God rewarding with abundance Jim and Brenda ? . Abbie now knows that prayer life is fruitful.
Brings back memories, thank you. Had a belgian named Bill in my mid twenties. Loved to pull logs. Smart as they come and a heart of gold.
I know nothing about horses, but those two boys are calm and seem to know exactly where you want them to go. Thank you for the peaceful video.
A super video Jim and Brenda you guys have one of the best UTube channels!!!
The smell of the fresh pine must be amazing...
Oh,to have the energy of Skippy 😊
Barron looks great, looks like he’s come a long way. My question is: What is your favorite thing about Barron and what do you think he needs to do better if anything.
Yes, I would like to know as well 😊

Hello how are you doing 😊
Baron looks great with his mane cut ❤️
There is quite a large open area where trees have been. Do you let trees grow back naturally or do you have tree planting done? Despite the heavy work the horses have done, they walk out of the finished job at a brisk pace. That's horsemanship. The horses have toned power.
Great work, what a physically demanding job.
Brenda you have got to be in the best shape ever to keep up with the team and hold a camera. Yep a little jealous here. Keep up the good work.
Hello how are you doing today
this was special because it was back to the woods again, we love it. just love watching the horses grab a tree snack, especially Baron..do you ever cut into your wedges? and how often do you have to fill the big tank of the excavator?. so fun today..thanks for being on.
You run a clean operation
Hello how are you doing
Baron has a big boy haircut...he looks nice
Those two horses work great together! Great job of training them, Jim.
WOW WHAT A BEAUTIFUL LIFE. YOU HAVE TO BE PROUD OF YOURSELFS
Great video. You do so much running about, Brenda, to get all these fabulous shots. I think you need a good old pony to help with the job, At least, that is what I would be wanting.
Greetings from Australia.
Always enjoy W H W J my favorite segments are the woods and logging , farming ok , lots of variety/ skill logging, Jim/Brenda 👍👋
awsome the way those horses beheave and respond to you.
enjoyed this much.thank you
Brenda you do a great job of videoing
That dog looks so happy on the farm, so much for him to do!!!
❤ My question: How long would you say it took to tack up the horses and get to the job site ? Of course you make this look so easy, but I know it's alot of work. Wow, you are in great physical shape, like you were 20yrs old.
What species of trees were you pulling out? Were they reforested?
The boys got a workout on this job

Hello how are you doing
Looks like Baron finally got over biting.
Some Stallions have habit of nipping the horse in harness next to them , being gelded calms their nature
That pull with the two long trees.how would you compare it to your horse pull adventure.looked like it was a pretty hard pull,
Great team work human and equine❤.
Wow! how far off the road are you? What a nice ride. Flies and skeeters don't look that bad on this day. Those look like fir trees that we have here in MN.
The horses are amazing. How is Miss pansy going. I so love jerseys.
Hello how are you doing
That’s a good jag of logs and good horses
Did you ever get a flat tire on that rig you sit on while you are in the woods working? Do you bring an extra tire with you to change it? Thank you. Great video.
At 10:16 I notice the evener is giving Barron a little advantage. Is Bill that much stronger? Do you keep the evener on the same setting for field work?
Love watching you log with your horses your videos are so fun and even educational but my question is are you logging on your own property today?
After a hard day at work, do you cool them and if you do, what do you do to cool them down?
it looks so peaceful there!!

Also enjoyed the video as always.
Take care from Nebraska

Great video! Excellent work on the camera, Brenda. Beautiful team!
it's hard work respect and admiration to the man
At 9:49 , do you hold the right hand rein differently than the left hand ? And if so, why.
Hello how are you doing 😊
Hi Brenda n’Jim,Q are you planning on keeping Bree as a future mare or just as a working horse she’s really a beautiful female with a great pedigree.!wonderful background.!!! Have a nice day always a pleasure watching your videos.God bless.!!!
Farming horse is very nice. Farm is very beautiful.
I see you pointed to a log with a crack and another you circled the center,, firewood ? The team is doing great, be safe and be well,
Good morning Jim and Brenda. My question was regarding the evening chains to the long leather straps. If the chains were shorter then the double hooking would be unnecessary. I saw it around the 6 minute 30 period on the video. Always enjoy your channel so please stay safe. Cheers from northeast Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
It is great video that make me feel fresh and relaxing.
Love these beautiful horses. You and your family are wonderful. If I ever get back to the East Cost, I will come and visit, learn from you.
Jim, you remind me of my Dad he was a hard worker, too quick question how long do you work in a day with a team of horses?
Jim and Brenda Has Skippy met any woodland critters . Porcupine ( ouch) skunks ( p u ) etc . Or is that sometime in the future. 😊😊😊
Do you have to run a brush hog or other mower to keep trails open?
If so do you do that with horses.
Hello how are you doing today 😊
5 min mark. I haven't seen you take more than 2 horses logging. Will you be taking Earl and/or Duke with you to start learning their logging trade? They seem to be doing very well on the farm.
I believe Earl has already been logging with Bill
Have you semi-retired Ken? Seems it’s always Bill & Baron headed to the woods now
I was just wondering if when the horses rub their head on one another....is it a sign of affection or dominance ?
The team are looking very smart all trimmed manes and tails and in excellent shape. Thanks for the video.
Where are you logging today.is this your lot or someone else’s.are you looking for any particular lumber today?
Paul Smith College? Have not heard about them in a while. Care to give it a mention? Thanks for your videos.
Hello how are you doing today 😊
@ 22 min., cold start, 6 pulls, pretty typical for a cold start, one pull thereafter...very good, carry on.
Hate to see that red rot on such a nice log, dang it anyways. I was thinking that was your Doug fir from your Doug fir lot? Great video, it was horse logging that brought me to your channel, sure Love it All , but have a special love for being in the woods with the big timber. "Great Video" does not fully say it , but... Thank you.
(Horses pulling hard and Strong!, Wow.)
Jim could thread a needle with that excavator and skid steer.
Jim what was wrong with the tree you pointed at.was it from lighting
Great video again ! What size chain are most of your chokers? 1/4” or 5/16” or 3/8”. Thanks for sharing your experience.
LOL At 27:10 the horses watching the excavator M ove logs they were thinking WHY DOES HE GET US TO PULL THEM AT ALL???🐎🐎
It must be a horse pull coming up soon and the big boys are getting a workout plus getting the job done
Do you do much logging in the summer? Most of the loggers around my parts wait for the cold weather to do most of their work.
compared to a horse pull how much would the trees you were moving at the end of the video weigh ?
Hello how are you doing today
What do the eye covers do on bridal for the horses?
If you put your collars on upside down, you won't have to be so ruff. when you get them on, turn them over gently. It works. You seem to throw them on.
Enjoyed this video format very much :)
Great job!
Great video !
Ok, question at 40:19. Jim circled it twice is this like sapsucker (woodpecker) damage or fungus damage he spotted? Or is it a sign of the redrot he’s run into?
At 41 minutes in were you marking the log where it wasn't straight ? Therefore not making good lumber? How many hours do you spend when you go out ? 😊
What type of trees are you going for today - are they for. An order.
Hello how are you doing
When summer logging, do you fell only hardwood or softwood, or doesn’t it matter? Just whatever is needed?
Hi Jim, #1 at about 10:00 we see the evener I noticed that Barron was hooked in the easy hole and Bill in the hard hole was that intentional? #2 at 47:45 you had 2 full trees hitched at first Barron was lungung then he seemed to settle and pull step for step with Bill, I noticed the same thing at the pulling competition. What is your opinion on how Barron is progressing?
Who was Lady’s teammate before you got Bill?
Jim, do you have a specific time of day you start your work in the woods?
Time stamp 13:43 Is this one of your properties? I almost think that it looks familiar but it's hard to tell with the changing seasons. It IS beautiful!
I’m thinking it’s at Smith college. Way different but yet similar dressed in green compared to white!
I was wondering about that but no yellow marks on trees from Forester, maybe Jim's Doug Fir stand?
Great job friend. Greetings from Brazil.
