Great reminder that when Gov. tells everyone "That country is dangerous and evil", they're usually referring to the 'Ruling Class' and not the average citizen who's just trying to scratch a living. The pictures you took at the ruins are stunning! Awesome video as always.
Exactly right, I couldn't have said it better myself.
Its amazing how people who have relatively little compared to developed countries are so much more hospitable.
The fact they don't have much is exactly why they are hospitable.
In the West, we assume "I have all I need, which means you have all you need. Why are you bothering me?"
In countries like Sudan, it is "I have a little, and I know you have a little. If we share, both of us will be better off."
I was in Sudan last year. The Sudanese people there possess another level of kindness, respect, and hospitality. Its great to hear travelers having the same experiences
Thank you dear Mark, and you are most Welcome...anytime !
God bless you and bless our beloved fatherland Sudan 💙✌🏾 حرية سلام وعداله 💙✌🏾
I studied Arabic while at uni. My favorite professor was a former Sudanese lawyer/Chief Justice turned English/Arabic professor. He was both funny and brilliant. Your travels seems to confirm why he was such a great person.
Awesome video and shots. Nice to hear such compliments about the Sudanese people. A little kindness makes the world a better place.
I really enjoy watching this I'm Sudanese and yes we trying to deal with some problems and I hope the next time you come to see the beauty of the green areas eats and south Khartoum
Thanks for hosting me in your country, I really enjoyed it and I will come back for sure!
I did Sudan by motorbike in March April 2019 it was such an amazing country and so good to see someone else enjoyed it as much as me
Thank you very much Greg, traffic awesome....it is or honor to have in sudan and you are always welcome!
💙✌🏾حريه سلام وعداله ✌🏾💙
Great series i have watched season 2 almost entirely. Great travels and beautifull scenery!
Glad you like them!
A strange sidenote: your background music reminds me alot of the stuff produced by Moog from Mighty Car Mods in Australia.
Greetings from Saskatchewan, Canada. Inspiring stuff!
Nice people , the Sudanese generous ,friendly and welcoming with marvellous music, love them
Yes they are!
Been watching since Morocco 3 1/2 years ago. Been interesting to check in now and then. Funny to think it's nearly over.
I still can't believe it
Really interesting video. I lived in N Africa for over 20 years and Sudan had the best reputation for hospitality. One reason for this is the lack of a large tourist industry. People are not cynical and money-oriented. Arab hospitality is well known, especially in Sudan.
you are welcome any time in sudan, , I am sorry that you went there at not the best time in sudan because we recently suffering from the lack of gas and electricity, but hopefully next time when u visit us again you will find every think is better and u will really enjoy sudan visiting dinder national park and portsudan.
I really enjoyed my time in Sudan, the people were so friendly and welcoming!
I look forward to next time I can visit, thank you!
What an amazing video i stumbled upon while searching for jeepers who travelled through Africa.
It's a pitty that we didn't get to meet during your visit to Sudan i could've showed you more of Sudan but until next time. You're always welcome to Sudan at anytime.
I'm a Sudanese with a dream like yours and i find your channel extremely helpfull, cheers mate.
Thanks very much, I had such a great time in Sudan I'm sure I'll be back
I am a Kenyan and my nephew works in Sudan periodically. He tells me that Sudanese are super friendly and by the way, his long term girlfriend is this really beautiful Sudanese girl! I believe you. Politics are not indicative of what people really are! SUDAN, TOGETHER AFRIKA!
These timelapses with you telling stories about the countries and the almost magical music in the background are totally mesmerizing. I really hope I get to drive around Africa in the future.
True adventurer
Outstanding video! I've spent a lot of time in Asia, but not in Africa. The gears in my head are starting to turn....don't tell my wife.
Go for it!
An amazing trip continues. Such great insight in another world. Steve 🇦🇺
Always look forward to your videos. Thanks for making them.
You are very welcome, thanks for the kind words!
I can't wait to see more of these adventures. I have seen you and Jeep at SEMA.
Weird that such a peaceful country is cut off from the rest of the world, but then again, maybe it's not so weird. Being cut off from the World seems to have gifted us with this beautiful culture. The bread man story got me, not going to lie, I wish the US was like that. Could use more friendly people.
I already love Sudan.
I need to visit Sudan!
Gedarif city in Eastern Sudan 😍
Who's from there ? My best city forever 💙💜
Respect sudan from india
Thank You Greg, for the insights and letting us participate . I‘ building a Jeep myself for traveling. Cheers!
His name is Dan Grec 🤷
Reminds me of the Mojave Desert here in California!
You are welcome to my country all the time .
Not having much but willing to share the little one has is called Obuntu in the bantu group in Africa , which means humanity.
That area reminds me of the California deserts!
Amazing video!!!
Desert wind truly does suck. I live in the high desert in New Mexico and every spring is just constant, annoying, high wind. It really is enough to actually make you angry sometimes, especially when your job is 100% outdoors like mine is.
Can't wait to see your Egypt video!
This is great country
Great video bro love from india 🇮🇳
True - Sudan is very safe :]
Safe travels!
The fact that Aidan is cut off from foreign money markets would be the main reason why the government propaganda says that it’s unsafe there. Thanks for posting this great video.
Sudan is one of the countries I would like to travel!🍻
It's absolutely beautiful!
How do you keep cool inside the keep during hot nights?
I have a little 12volt fan that makes a big difference.. it's nice to have air blowing across me to fall asleep.
Looks like Toyota has the vehicle market!
Awesome video as always! Have truly enjoyed your trek across Africa! How long did it take from start to finish?
I'm editing up the final video now (Egypt)... stay tuned in 2 weeks for the finale!
@@TheRoadChoseMe Most awesome, I cannot wait! :-)
I'm so impressed - exploring Sudan independently and you are doing some of the things I would like to do if I was there: Camp in the desert. Rise early. Make some coffee. Climb up the rise to see the Nile valley in the distance. But it's all spoilt by a drum machine and lame techno synthesisers. If these are playing 24/7 in the Sudanese desert then I think I will have to reconsider visiting there. Or did you add them to your film by choice? Why did you have to spoil it?
Pretty sure its just a natural part of the environment
The West lost that kind of hospitality long time ago.
Hello. Loved the video. I am going to start from Zambia to Egypt and then to Europe in a few days. The only information missing is carrying the car from Halfa Valley in Sudan to Aswan in Egypt. Is Ferry the only option? Is it easy to get? How did you do it? Any instructions for me please ?
You don't have to get the ferry anymore, the border is just on land.
You will almost certainly need a "fixer", find "Kamal", he is the best.
You will also need a Carnet de Passage for Egypt, it's mandatory. You can get a local one from Kamal.
Also right now you can't drive into Ethiopia without putting down a $100,000 USD CASH bond for your vehicle. Yes, really. It's a big problem, there is currently no solution.
Sudanese are indeed very friendly :]
Any reasons why you avoided South Sudan, Chad, CAR?
Civil wars, basically.
I think I would enjoy this with a partner, a girlfriend or wife! Rich emotions would be built from these adventures!!
First!
Who picked the nursery school music (noise) in the background?
Headache inducing.
السودان ✊👏🌸😊✌
Wow how many extra gas cans do you carry with you for those long empty stretches?
Just the 10 gallon tank on the back. I'll do a video about fuel and range soon!
Overlanded to Mexico in 2010-2011 when the US and Canadian governments said no go... get away from the fronteras and go rural where folks are folks...
How much fuel do you carry? I have a Jeep a can't imagine going in places where fuel is not secure
My max capacity is 40 gallons, giving a range of 600miles on a good day
😎👍
If there would have been a sandstorm you would have had a hard time finding your way back to the road
I think the GPS would have had my back.
@@TheRoadChoseMe fair enough lol
the sound is just... wrong. No conection to what you try to show.
All i see in video is onley toyotas 😂😂
I haven't been watching very long but I have been wondering what you may carry for protection. Do you carry a firearm? Are you even allowed to carry a weapon? If so I'd love to know what you do carry with you.
He doesn't carry anything with him. He's never needed one during his trip either.
@@DylanRoberts7 That's awesome that he hasn't needed any protection! I'd just hate to see the day that he does need a weapon but doesn't have anything except a pocket knife! It does seem like for the most part, the people he meets go out of their way to help him though. I hope it stays that way!
I do not carry a firearm. Crossing international borders with one would be instant jail time, and I don't want to go to jail in foreign countries. Also in 5 years through 54 countries in Central and South America and now Africa I've never had a gun pointed at me, never heard a single gunshot and never genuinely felt threatened.
The world is not what Hollywood tells you it is.
@@TheRoadChoseMe Thank you very much for your personal reply! Keep up the great content and stay safe on your future adventures! 👍👍
