Evo X Hella Horn Install!!!

- Hey what's up everyone welcome back to the channel! This week I installed Hella Horns on my Evo X and this is definitely a mod that you can pretty much do for any car. It is a universal horn that I think can fit on most vehicles. This was my first time doing anything electrical related to wiring and truthfully it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. There was a fuse that was included with the Hella Horns but it wouldn't fit in any of the fuse locations so I did without it and the horns work perfectly! Thanks for watching and I'll see you guys next time, Later!

I really do like your upgradesss!
Thank you very much 😁👍
I just installed some Hella horns as well. worth the money! Was a nice assurance i did it right lol
Haha yea! I like how much louder it is, what was the hardest part for you?
Great video man
Thanks! 👍🏼
I like your set up, for my set up on my 13' Lancer GT Wagon, I actually used an 07' STI grimmspeed horn bracket, redrilled center hole and bought the STI Wiring harness. Made install a breeze man, literally all plug n play with the wiring harness.
Oh man that was a good idea! You got a pretty rare car haha nice 👍🏼
@@JeffSongCars Thanks man haha. As I am sure you know, there's certain things that haven't been fully developed yet for us Mitsubishi Enthusiasts. I'm a little bit picky and that I need both horns equal and perfectly centered. The grimmspeed bracket achieved just that. I do enjoy your video and I think you did damn good job getting your horns centered man 👍
I'm running the same horns brother. All of my buddies run the reds. I gotta change it up, which is went with the yellows.
I actually left one of my factory horns mounted and connected, that way when I lock my car all I hear is a little beep. When I slam on my horn, then the super tones activate 💥 🤙
@@Shim_Shack_Studio Thanks man 😁👍. I really do appreciate the support! That's a pretty good idea for the stock horn... hmmm I think I may have tossed mine somewhere to be found years later lol. I do like the sound of ours though 🙌
Nice work, gave me the idea to install mine
They def sound better than the stock horns 👍🏼
Your doing great nice install looks great just need a color match 👍
Thank you thank you! 😂👍 I agree with the color match
That's dope. For me I went with the hella trumpets a lot louder of a sound and beefier. Just need to run a 12v for the extra sound
Oh wow didn't know there was a third option hahaha I thought it was just the sharp tone and super tone. How was the wiring for that?
@@JeffSongCars straight forward as the Sharpe tone. You just put a fuse in the line for extra power. I believe there's videos and a write up online
Ohhh nice nice, yea our cars oem horn is toooo weak
good job mate.
Thank you 😎👍
Where did you get the metal bracket that your bumper quick release is bolted to?
I got it from a seller on Etsy but he’s no longer in business. I think malperformance has one too but before you do add a quick release make sure you’re ready drill holes into your bumper hahah 👍🏼
Do you know if this will work for base models? Thinking of getting one for my 2017 Lancer ES
I believe it should work for the base models as well 👍🏼
What are those yellow and blue thingy u connect wires with?
They’re wire connectors and this is the set I used Wirefy Heat Shrink Wire Connectors Kit - Marine Grade Electrical Connectors - Automotive Butt Connectors - Insulated Ring, Spade, Fork, Hook Crimp Terminals - 22-10 Gauge - 270 PCS www.amazon.com/dp/B01GXQMP66/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Z3EP8N94F0VSVD0K5R9X?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
What happened to the fuse ??? I Only see that you show it up at the beginning of video when showing whats inside the package
I believe that fuse was something optional, not too sure but I may have put in a different fuse for the slot it goes in from another mod I did. My bad I completely forgot about adding that part in during the video!
@@JeffSongCars Its all good ,as u mention ,I did not need at all , just plug as u did and workout good ,Thanks ! O/
So i dont need run anything to the battery?
Nope! Just the wiring in the video, I've been running it for a little bit and it works totally fine. The horn sound when I lock the car sounds a little fun y but that's it hahah 😄👍
Hella nice Jeff, oem horn volume are for Lancer owners not meant for Evo owners lol.
I see what you did there 😂 hahah thanks man 👍
Go blow my lancers whistle 👍
Did you ever have any issues with these thing’s draining the battery? I’ve read some issues and am actually having something killing my battery and I’m suspicious of these being the culprit.
I haven't had any battery issues after installing these. When was the last time you replaced your battery?
@@JeffSongCars brand new battery 💀😅
@@toxicrace06 Damn electrical is not my forte. Try unplugging them overnight and see if the battery still drains in the morning. If that happens might just be a bad battery, let me know how it turns out!
Your videos make me so happy I own an evo! What’s your Instagram I would love to follow you!
Hahaha I'm glad to be of help!👍 My insta is @_jeff.song I really should start updating it more often though 😅
Did you get used to them or did you end up painting?
I bought them new and truthfully I got too lazy to paint them 😂😂 I probably will end up painting them and I’m thinking in matte black 👍🏼
@@JeffSongCars Ah, I’ve had the red Hellas on my black X since 2011, so they’re pretty ate up. I’ve been considering the yellows.
The yellows don’t look tooo bad but they really do stick out. If anything you might be able to paint yours? Or is it the inner portion that’s gone?
@@JeffSongCars They’re pretty rusted. Might as well get some new ones. If I don’t like it, I guess I can just plasti dip them haha
Thanks for the reply
Yea that’s definitely a viable option hahaha if anything just plastidip 😄👍🏼
where did you buy
www.graveyardperformance.com/products/hella-sharptone-horn-set-yellow-universal?_pos=1&_sid=6881f5333&_ss=r
This is where I bought it off from but I believe Amazon also has it listed as well 👍
@@JeffSongCars thanks friend greetings from Panama city
