The creator of Plants vs. Zombies was fired by ElectronicArts for refusing to add microtransactions to the next game. What could they create after that?...
As a games art and animation student, I could literally cry thinking about how much time and effort went into making every model, animating it, adding the nodes, coding, vfx etc to making a fully functioning level. This isn’t much but thank you for making an amazing fan level of one of my favourite childhood games 💜
The best fan remake I've ever seen... I propose an update: Once all the front lawn rows are available, the backyard rows start rolling out. Defending both the front and back lawn simultaneously could be very hectic and fun. The pool becoming available could be a tarp being unrolled from on top of it instead of grass rolling out. The aimable plants on the roof could fire on either lawn
i suggested to add the pult plant if there is ever an update aiming peashooter would still have a purpose of saving sun but no longer be forced to be used on the roof

first watching your video I thought that this game looks nice and polished and when I played it my opinion didn't change at all! The textures all look really nice, the animations and gameplay all look and feel very smooth and the animation and soundeffect for the zombies head popping off is just really satisfying. And the fact that you've made this masterpiece of a game full of interesting and amazing mechanics in only a few months is astonishing to me. After I beat it, I just want more of this game, please update it or make a sequel because it was really fun to play through!
This is honestly incredible. If not at risk of copyright, this should definitely get updated in the future. Like, imagine if when the wave shifts to night, your seed pouch changes and you now can only use all the mushrooms! Or when you get to the final 80-90% of the level, you unlock the Gatling pea upgrade for the repeaters, but the zombies of course also ramp up in difficulty more. There's actually so much you could do with this, and it fits incredibly well with the charming artstyle!

I know that it's been 10 months since you finished the project, but I feel that if it isn't too much work it would be awesome to make a feature for people to edit the amount of waves and zombies in each wave using a basic level editor of some sort. And great work on the design and game.
Man I hope you can do a full game out of this with skins and stuff like that, even if u have to remake some of the models, it's gonna be worth it! I bet a lot of fans gonna download, add feedback, and play the game for some years
This is incredible! The PvZ series is already a great game series, but ther is always room for improvement, and if EA ever wanted to do a remake then this is the way to go.
It's a good to have a debate about that because, I was thinking to myself these days, and I came with this thought that "what, that's right, if a single guy can make a banger game in 4 months, why so does those lazy ass ea devs still even exist?" But it's not like that, like you see the guy who made this pvz3d made just a little portion of the game (still pretty dope). But, to make a Real Entire 6-16 Hour Experience Game with all these things in this list on 0:28 and somehow go full on original assets takes a whole team to do it (at least if you have some 2 or 3 friends to help you and f etc) So, it's not about the team working, but the direction of who it's investing on them
@@cgqn4398 I still bet my money that this guy would have at least worked on the game fully and did it justice instead of of dropping it like these idiots that worked on it

He also thinks that this does not look like a conventional tower defense and looks more like a Garden Warfare planted the best pots while aiming at priority objectives.
The funniest thing is, putting aside modeling the new plants and any new zombies, you could very easily make the night, pool, and fog settings with very little else: - Night stage you've already done with the day/night cycle you've implemented - Pool and Fog could have the middle three rows replaced with a water texture, to match the 2-2-2 ratio of the original - Fog could have the fog effect you already implemented moved over the play area Now that being said, I know that the plants and zombies are DEFINITELY the hardest part of actually completely re-creating the game. I just thought I'd remark how relatively simple it'd be to make the backdrops to each stage.
If he’s going to create updates versions of this - I think making use of the 3D space by making the player fight the pool level from behind and the roof levels at the same time from the side be AWESOME
Then to wrap it all off, add fog when it turns night on the pool side, unlock the rest of the plants via wave progression, and a final 3 waves of it panning to the roof, where the catapults make their debut (albeit without the flower pot) to throw their projectiles over the other side of the roof. Of course add dr zomboss and his zombot.

a channel with 2 videos with very good results, I really love the effort you put into making the video apart from making remakes, I hope you can have the recognition you deserve, a new sub reporting here
I said it before but i will say it again: Is impressive how you just started as a youtuber but your (only 2) videos have more quality than 98% of youtube videos nowadays 🤙
If I could make one recommendation it would be to make it a rouge lite with the difficulty ramping up over time while you unlock new plants. Thought it might be a fun idea considering you’ve already deviated so much
badly wanna try it,and also the effort you work on it was really good im impress and hopefully it has on a mobile phone though!
I love you man. I loved this game when it came out and its a big part of my childhood. You really did it justice. I wouldve preffered this style of game over the Sequel tbh. Great work, keep it up!
The detail on all of this is amazing. The animations, effects, atmosphere and personality feel so professional!
I think we need more of this
This is so amazing
completed it on 2nd try! :D the large open section near the end is the hardest. just hold as long as possible and they'll screw your whole system up. if you can hold that long enough, your lawn mowers will be ready for the final wave. just use cherry bombs and spam everything then. GG, great game.
Dude, this is seriously fucking cool. Love the insight into every aspect of your development process, and hats off to you for replicating every minute detail that was present in the original. Very rarely do you see remakes capture the charm seen in the original, and you nailed it. Feels super personal and well thought out, and you deserve so much more attention for your work. Subbed.
