  • In this video I talk about my loneliness and lack of feeling that I belong!
#brenebrown talks about how Joy and Belonging go together and I couldn’t agree more.
I’m so happy to have received so many lovely comments from you all and hopefully managed to thank you all individually.
Make sure to go over to Brene Brown’s channel to see that goddess in action. Her first Ted talk on Shame and Vulnerability is a must see and has helped me, no end, with my anxiety and fear.
Please feel free to comment below.
Sending huge love and light to you all. Xxx

Where does that sense of not belonging come from? It can only be felt if we know that there is something greater within us...a memory that there is more to us. This quote expresses it so very beautifully.
“Listen, perhaps you catch a hint of an ancient state not quite forgotten; dim, perhaps, and yet not altogether unfamiliar, like a song whose name is long forgotten, and the circumstances in which you heard completely unremembered.
Not the whole song has stayed with you, but just a little wisp of melody, attached not to a person or a place or anything particular. But you remember, from just this little part, how lovely was the song, how wonderful the setting where you heard it, and how you loved those who were there and listened with you.
Listen, and see if you remember an ancient song you knew so long ago and held more dear than any melody you taught yourself to cherish since.
Beyond the body, beyond the sun and stars, past everything you see and yet somehow familiar, is an arc of golden light that stretches as you look into a great and shining circle. And all the circle fills with light before your eyes.”

Firstly, Hell YES of course I wanna hear you do a version of West Side Story....I would absolutely love that!! Music feeds the soul and as we give our gifts we also receive. How beautiful is that?💕😌🙏
The whole thing of not belonging goes way beyond family, friends, colleagues, playmates and can be felt even if we have the most loving of families. I don’t feel I’ve ever truly felt a sense of belonging in my life. I used to think it was perhaps because of circumstances I found myself in, or perhaps because I had little in common with those around me...with my peers....I seemed to have minority tastes. I used to think it was perhaps to do with the way I spoke, my accent, or my sensitivities. I had so many ideas about why I didn’t seem to belong. Sometimes there is an accompanying feeling of a cut self-consciousness and unreality (a bit of a paradox, perhaps). Today I see that my sense of not belonging goes beyond my environment, beyond family, friends, etc, and I need to look past my perceived personality traits. What I’m noticing...sensing....realising is that my sense of not belonging is a disconnection or a separation from the Real Me - which I would describe as the God Spark. You know, the part of us that is connected to our Source. I’m not sure if I’ve explained it well enough - does that make sense at all? There is an overwhelming sense of separation. I need to find a quote. Back in a mo!

I really get that feeling of not belonging. Everything seems to move around while I'm still standing still and its a very uncomfortable thing. Try to check in with people and spaces and activities that make you feel good and connect with those who really see you, your value and your heart. Life is scary and there is a lot of not knowing what's going on but that's okay. It's okay to not have everything figured out and needing time to find your space and rhythm.
I truly hope you find some freedom and empowerment in these videos and know their sentiment is resonating with others around the world x

Hi Summer, of course you should post a version of ‘Something’s Coming’- even if you don’t want to put it publicly, do it for yourself. I understand feeling disconnected, as if you’re watching yourself from a distance rather than being in the moment. I have felt the same, skipping around the planet, hoping to find where I ‘belong’. I honestly don’t know what I’m looking for really, but a wise friend tells me, when you’re truly safe and secure within yourself, you don’t look for those feelings anywhere else. Finally, about starting with a joke ? Well, don’t they say try everything at least once ? So give it a try. I know it sounds incredibly trite, but hard as it can be to believe, you’re not on this journey alone- none of us really know where we’re going but, we are all travelling together, so when you wave, we are waving back. Take care, Annie ❤️
