You, I, and I'm sure many others it's a sad week for music. Stoked he made it out of covid last year when hospitalized, he's one those artist that I wished to see live before he hung up tour life sadly that day will never come. A monster of a voice that will be missed RIP🕊
No mic placement, no production, no nothing - they probably just perched one of their iPhones at a good angle & hit Record. The most relatable rockstar video in years
I love his voice and Callaborations and Dylan Carlson they were like good old friends is this on cd or Vinyl. Format I love every thing Mark has made poetry. Lyrics. Music .Rip Mark Lanegan
Gonna miss Mark so much. He just released his memoir. Maybe he felt it coming? Probably not. Things are poetic, sometimes. I am a huge fan and just can't believe he's gone.
Yes, he felt it coming. Listen carefully to the lyrics on "Basement Door". The last track on the Dark Mark & Skeleton Joe album. That was him saying good bye to all of us.
@@FoneStar78 Wow. Does anyone know how he died yet? Rumor is sustained complications from COVID, but I wonder if that's what actually happened. It does not matter, and I could definitely live never knowing. It's a bummer. I still can't believe he's gone.
I don't think that's true. It seemed like he was really eager to start cranking out more material at a rapid pace, far as I know he still had collabs pending. I do think he overworked himself after COVID, though.
I feel like Lanegan was always conscious in his final years that every day he lived was a blessing and that any given day could be his last. He did seemingly reconcile with a Lot of people he'd previously been at odds with since writing the book. But I don't feel like he ever resigned himself to it, hell, he supposedly died in his kitchen.
I put Mark up there with Cornell and Staley vocalist wise. Fell in love with that deep, raspy sound back when Screaming Trees put out "Nearly Lost You". We miss you man 😢
RIP and hoped you enjoyed your last few years in Killarney, Ireland - Strange Religion was my favourite song of yours and I bet Seattle is always very proud of you.
Wow never seen this before..this is quality to see...Just finished marks book ..wow what a read..after a 21 year habit my self soon to be 2 years clean....wow was very deep book. That I could not put down.. big fan of the trees and Dylan for that matter ..it brought up some memories in my own life and sometimes we need to face stuff ...played this on loop for a while now...r.i.p.mark your still helping people...and love to Dylan too and to all take care
Courtney saved Mark's life and if not for her, he wouldn't have had 25 more great years after his first rehab stint. She's far from perfect but any admirer of Lanegan should feel thankful for her.
"TWO" legends? Only thing legend about Carlson is that he was arrested and questioned about his involvement in the Courtney Love conspiracy to murder Kurt Cobain. He'll have his day soon, as 2022, beginning on Kurt's Bday 2/20/22, is when the cards begin to fall. My prayers will not be denied. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
@@therespectedlex9794Yeah they really are now. Joe Burns (ex drummer of Dylan's band Earth back in 91') is publicly claiming he was there the night Kurt Cobain was murdered. You can search "Joe Burns Kurt Cobain" here on UA-cam and/or Google and see the clips for yourself. The full interview will be released very soon.
You are still my favorite, Mark, ...next to the other favorites of courseI was listening to Screaming Trees then & I still do NOW. And when I'm not, I'm listening to anything & everything you've done over the last 20 years!!!✡✌📯🕯
Mark you changed my life with your music, and i love you for that alone Im glad to see you are still an inspiration. Greetings from Greece brother, stay strong as always
Effortlessly cool Mark was a guest at Nick Cave concert in Australia On guitar was Ed Kuepper of The Saints (seminal punk and groundbreaking band of the 70’s) As much as I love Nick Cave, I really wished I saw Ed Keupper and Mark Lanegan just playing/jamming/ whatever the hell they wanted to do .. on their lonesome Two inimitable musicians that are awe inspiring and provide the answer to “why do we love music so?...”
Nice "the Saints" reference glad you explain a bit how important they were. Especially in the U.S... maybe else where too people ain't really hip to them it seems.
Better that Lanegan grew into the highly signicant singer/songwriter he is rather than the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd string quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks he could've become. To paraphrase Dylan, blame it on multiple, back-wrenching twists of fate.
at 1:19 or so there's what looks like a ghost orb that shows moving downwards on the left of centre. neat. ghosts like good music too! Thanks M.L. for all you do!
@Josh Weaver just saying that's what it looked like, has nothing to do with it being a comforting thought or not, I was being facetious... and whether it's anything other than a fly, well, we will never know will we? 🤣🤣🤣
Rest in peace, Mark Lanegan. May that voice carry infinitely across the sky.
RIP Mark, your voice is immortal.
Goodbye beautiful soul. A piece of me has just died with you...
Listening to this again after yesterday's heartbreaking news has brought a tear to my eye. RIP you will be missed!!!

Two friends that have seen it and done it all together. They exude such history without saying a word.
No mic placement, no production, no nothing - they probably just perched one of their iPhones at a good angle & hit Record. The most relatable rockstar video in years
Sure. Great to see he wasn’t precious etc But certainly not a good sound …
That’s how most of the galaxie 500 20-20 project is.
R.I.P 🌹 Mark 🙏
Mark you will be missed by so many people all over the world. Thanks for your music and as fans we have to carry on his legacy. RIP Mark.
RIP Mark... Great Voice!!!
We miss you already
Awww Mark. Damn it. See you in the next world. Rise and Rock in Power. Free of illness and pain.🌈💋🦋🙏🏼🧿
I'm so happy these two got to be friends, introduce him to Kurt and then go on to collaborate. Mark's spirit can never die!

Man, it's like I lost a cool uncle! Thanks Mark for being with us through the last 35 or so years! RIP
I love how Lanegan plays the shaker and tambourine so begrudgingly! 😆😀
And in the end it s so grunge!
And he can't even sing while playing them lmaoooo
Lanegan was most definitely not known for his instrumental prowess.
@@jetcheneau5811 his guitar playing on his first 2 solo albums wasn't bad tho
Mark will be sorely missed... R. I. P my condolences to Shelley + family...
Rest easy man. Thank you for all awesome music.
Kurt would look like this in 2022... rest in peace
yeah the guy who is playing the guitar, dylan has a lot to do with Kurt not being here

Dylan's fastest song.
He’s going into speed punk..
1000 mph
I’ve never heard Mark using the upper end of his vocal range and of course I’m all for it. 🤟🏻
Lexington Slow Down, Shooting Gallery, El Sol, Willie John etc etc...
Not to mention his new album! Check out “This game of love”
@WarAgainstBabylon in Trees he sang much higher yea. Of course, back then, so could I lol
Check out Sad Lover, he sings pretty high on there
Wild flowers!!!! I don't think I've ever heard him sing higher than he did in that
Dylan Carlson wow! Opened for me the work of the Earth band is simply incredible!
Rest in peace, chief.
Always lived, you lived in the Shadows. God Rest, God speed, God Damned, your voice will forever give me a great chill on my spine.
RIP lanegan you ledgend💔😢
Who is just as shocked as I am that Dylan outlived Mark Lanegan??
It doesn't feel real to this day.
Courtney!

My friend was in the same building as him back in the 90s and yes, its a miracle.
I take it that Dylan was really bad into it as well??
What's he from BTW?
it hurts
You'll be missed. my friend and inspirator...
This is brilliant. I loved Galaxie 500 and Mark and Dylan are two of my favourite musicians.
Lots of love from Vancouver.
2 legends & a vacuum cleaner
Been on a 3 day binge only Lanegan can cure it thanks for the music Mark ride on ✌🏻
Legends doing legendary shit.
Allot of confusion going on right now but this made me smile. I love this song and Galaxie 500. Thank you guys this made my morning.
