I used to live near an Air Force base, I loved the sonic booms. Some people moved here and complained, said they scared them. For me, I find them comforting, I feel safe knowing how powerful they are.
The white cone on the fighter jets is not the sonic boom, it’s just the condensation of water due to the low pressure after the jet “cutting” the air, it happens on commercial planes as well, even when they are taking off.
God the sonic boom on a jet just looks and sounds so much more insane than I expected. I would really never have expected a perfect cone to form like that.
A vapor cone (also known as a Mach diamond, shock collar, or shock egg) is a visible cloud of condensed water that can sometimes form around an object moving at high speed through moist air, such as an aircraft flying at transonic speeds.
I don’t think that’s even possible, light has such little mass that it’s negligible. Us, not so much. It would take a lot of energy and I doubt there would be much that could survive it
You can get to make a sonic boom at your own home. Just get a whip and crack it. The crack sound is produced because the tip of the whip moves faster than the speed of sound.
I used to hear sonic booms where I lived all the time untill the FFA made it illegal to do it over populated cities. A lot of ppl were making false claims that the sonic booms were breaking their windows back then also.
At one of the previous houses I lived at for 12 years which I purchased brand new. The front of my house faced the base and was 1.3 miles from the front gate. I can honestly say sonic booms are not necessary to break or deteriorate windows although we experienced plenty of sonic booms. Just regular ops shakes windows and definitely deteriorated all of the window seals on the front side of my house only, the side that faced the base. To boot my chandelier in my dining room fell during ops one day which also was in the front of my house which faced the base. So I am inclined to believe it when people make claims that jets flying by whether supersonic or not broke windows or other damages to their home! We lived with this for 12 years, because I wanted to be close to work. When the chandelier fell the wife said it was time to move, so I did. Funny thing though in my next 2 house's which were far from the base and out of the pattern my windows and my chandeliers don't rattle anymore and the window seals have remained unharmed!

at 1:45 he said "Double sonic booms" but that is not true. those two were just loud explosions. In order To BE a sonic boom the explosions would NEED TO BE traveling PAST the listener AT FASTER than the speed of sound, and those two "rockets Landing" were clearly landing SLOWLY. JUSSAYIN
