I absolutely adore these little squishy bois - phrasing. They are awesome for stress relief and bounce like crazy when you throw them. Now, I didn't paint any numbers in for mine, as normal paint just won't stick to them. You can however get a product called psycho paint that will get the job done for you. I wanted these more just for a fun toy rather than any serious dice that I'd be rolling, but if you want a set that you can read and squish, I highly recommend Psycho Paint.
Send me pics of your squishy dice if you make some yourself! You can absolutely make it with normal silicone, but Dragon Skin is just WAY more durable than normal silicone, and so I do recommend it over something like slow-15 etc.

Gummy dice
I had the exact same reaction but I've never wanted to bite dice. Once they started changing colors it only amplified how much I wanted to take a bite out of them.
Well, with the squish molds you could probably make a gummi syrup and pour that in. Then it would be squishy and tasty.
Make molds and make gummies of them

Is there a metallic pigment for the silicone? It would be fun to make a big d20 look like metal so people would think it's going to CLUNK when you roll it but it would BOING instead.

try a chrome pigment? you can usually find the nail powder pigments and use them! make sure to add a lot of the pigment though since you want the full chromatic effect and not just a glittery look!

Also I started collecting them because as a child, the grocery story we went to had a rube-goldberg style quarter machine for them (the thing was bigger than i was) so it was as much about watching them go through the machine as it was collecting them

Just because you don't particularly like them doesn't mean someone else can't. I feel like getting bent up over people liking things you find unusual only makes your life like dull and bland (it may not actually be, I just said it makes it look that way).

11:36 my mind immediately shouted: “Bath toys!” Like rubber duck esque stuff. Man. I’m a child at heart. Yeah, it wouldn’t float, but the heat and squish factor, plus a warm bath would be kinda fun.
It could totally float if there were enough air bubbles.
You could set up a mold to have something hollow inside, like those glitter dice he made before, and they would be able to float that way
I want a functional set of these. These would be perfect for a wild magic sorcerer I have been dreaming up. Because obviously my dice should be as chaotic as the character they represent
(But maybe not quite as squishy. Something is can throw at the kitchen floor, bounce up a fair bit and settles. So the no bubbles recipe is probably best. It would be nice if I could absently bounce my dice back to my hand while I'm waiting)

The cooling red and blue with the white sent me right into a nostalgic red-white-and-blue popsicle place.

Fun Fact: The D4 is sharp for a reason: During the “Satanic Panic”, Gary Gygax put many D4 shaped objects in D$D kits, so that if a session was raided by the police, players could toss the sharp objects all over the room to protect themselves from unnecessary police force. This later became the D4.

You can also use non-latex rubberbands to help with the cure inhibition where the goo touched the rubberbands. gojo or other abrasive soap works wonders for getting uncured silicone off your hands. also also, compat 45 will work for molds with dragon skin and it doesn't need mold release :) You can also use more silicone to paint silicone, but make sure there's no skin oil or the goo won't stick. You can also get squishier, squishier dice with ecoflex :P

Could probably get s neat effect by roughly mixing the thromo pigment with static pigment of the same color
Suggestion: Make a clear outershell dice and put squishy dice inside so when you roll it they bounce around inside.

With the Stuart Semple black I believe they're on black 3.0 now so you can get a darker black pigment for dice that truly look like the void!

You can always order online or if you're lucky on some local hobby shop, you can call and ask if they have any.

Same company that makes the silicone (Smooth-On) also makes a mold release specifically for silicone-on-silicone that won't stress your molds as much as this soap stuff does. It's called Ease Release 200.
i dig the thermo pigment, i've always loved the novelty of little color changing things that turn when you hold them

i work with silicone prosthetics and not quite sure how ive got here, but youve shown me a way of creating a silicone case with silicone mold might just be a game changer for simple basic prosthetics!!
The forbidden gummi dice
I wanna see someone play an actual session with these. Imagine the looks on your party members faces when you go to roll...
I've used the soap and water release agent on an industrial level, and the trick is to make sure you don't water down the soap too much. Straight soap will work, but it's a little thick and can pool in the corners, so it's inadvisable.
The squishy dice would make EXCELLENT stress balls for people who break stress balls! I kind of want to bite them.
You could definitely use those colour changing dice along with a heat pad, as some sort of effect timer or just cool visuals!
My dumb ass was wondering why normal dice don't stick to molds before remembering this is a squishy dice. 🤣

It is actually what it is called...but yes.
I use thermochromatic pigment on Nike slides. It makes for a nice side business, as people love watching them change color. I generally use pigments that go colorless around 70+ degrees

This was such a fun video! Never would have thought of this before but maybe I’ll start bouncing dice in-game rather than rolling now.
I Got an Idea.
Use Vacuum Silicone and a little bit into the mold and constantly rotate it so you create a hollow shell of the dice. Then either cut it open or use a syringe to put the unvacuum silicone into the hollow shell to fill it up since silicone will stick to itself if you cut it open. This will give you both good properties: The extra details on the outside but more squishiness from the unvacuum on the inside. You could just leave it hallow but incase you wanna use this for a game i you might have uneven weight distributed dice so filling it up would be better.
Here's a messed up content idea that I can't seem to stop thinking about; giant d20 mold, Mac n Cheese style.
Does anyone have an online store that makes these? I'm not especially interested in making my own dice (I don't get to play often enough for such an investment), but I have searched the internet many times over the last few years trying to find dice that were made out of the same stuff as bouncy balls. I wanted soft, durable, bouncy dice that I could throw at a wall if I wanted to, or throw on a sidewalk, or any place that you wouldn't want to throw normal dice for fear of scratching or damaging them. So I would love to order some like these if anyone makes them. Or if you know someone that already has an account on something like eBay, Amazon, or Etsy, that makes these sorts of dice, please leave the link here. Thanks for any help.

Sophie and toffee actually have “squishie gel “ it’s 2 part silicone that doesn’t stick to other silicons , it’s quite soft but I’m a big fan of it.

This was great, not sure if i'll try this one out since part of my friends thinks i'm making sex toys as it is, but it does create some interesting idea's.
With that said, I go a question. Have you ever made your own alcohol ink before? I spotted a few older videos doing it but in my mind it seems a little to simple to be true or work with resin, but considering its getting harder and harder to get supplies these days I was thinking of making a best batch soon just to get it out of the way.

Looks great. Dish soap and isopropanol sounds pretty nice, I'll give that a try. I normally use talcum for silicone on silicone stuff, leaving a slightly dull surface but the always come apart nicely. Also check if you find a rubberlike polyurethane, not sticking to silicone at all.

You mentioned that silicone is not that dangerous to get on you. I use dragonskin for larger projects (the biggest was a swimmable mermaid tail). I've heard anecdotes of people getting allergic rashes to the uncured dragonskin after using it for a while, and long scale placement sessions are definitely better with my respirator. So if you're starting your bespoke squishy dice empire, invest in protective equipment.
