      1980s thrash metal bands rarely used guitars not made by either Jackson or ESP. The occasional Ibanez or BC Rich crept in from time to time, but not often. I agree, for me Megadeth was also the poster band for Jackson; even Ellefson plays Jackson basses, which is rare to see.

      Don't forget Jeff Hanneman and Phil Collen and their soloists. Hanneman's is far and away the most famous Soloist anyone has ever played. Also the reason I stickered and tagged everything I owned in Middle and high school with punk and metal logos.

      Back in the 80s it was Kramer,Charvel, and Esp who took the spotlight for metal guitars.Then Jackson was shortly after until Randy Rhoads started playing Jackson's,then they became famous.

    Anybody know why Jackson doesn’t make a 6 string reverse headstock King V? Is it a logistics thing? Is it because they don’t sell? Is it because they’re exclusive to some of the Randy Rhoads signatures? Always been curious...

    • @SovereignKing
      @SovereignKing 3 роки тому +1

      @@abbasahmedlp Yeah exactly, I’ve seen that one and it looks gorgeous, but Mick said it’s not practical for when he performs on stage, so it’s highly unlikely we’ll see a signature of it for sale. I’ve just always wondered why it isn’t a standard, because it looks so bad ass! I’d have them in droves if they made them that way..

    • @dumpsterplayer5133
      @dumpsterplayer5133 3 роки тому +3

      Because Jackson in the last couple of years is doubling down on the 80s hair metal nostalgia, there's like a dozen different Dinky and Soloist model while Kelly/Warrior/KV gets discontinued. Forget reverse headstock, they don't even offer hardtail models of most of their iconic shape past the beginner JS series.
      The only reverse headstock RR is the RR24 and RRX24, and that's likely to differentiate it from the regular 22 frets Rhoads.

    • @judemisura4323

  • @karce1981

    I got the kv7q, what a disaster. Corey really needs to talk about QC issues with Jackson. Bad frets (sharp and uneven), neck pickup half the volume as bridge, tuners creaking and stiff, winter storm finish was yellow, fricken yellow! The pickups were lopsided and couldn't be evened out without being 1mm from strings. The action had to be so high due to the uneven frets it was not enjoyable to play.
    I loved the idea of this guitar, looks amazing in pictures and was my first 7 string,but I was so heartbroken to pay so much for what I thought was an amazing guitar, until I had it in my hands. Corey if you ever see this, you need to do something because your name is being dragged through the mud with this model.

    Also, Jackson should make a KV2T with the regular 6 in line headstock and sharkfin inlays. The one they have now looks atrocious!

    • @dumpsterplayer5133
      @dumpsterplayer5133 3 роки тому

      Doesn't really matter, the USA Select aren't production anymore, they're just a base spec template that you can customize (Custom Select). If you want a KV2T you can just swap out the OFR for a TOM in the spec sheet.

    Jackson, let me tell you my story:
    2018 I bought a Pro King V KVT Snow White almost without testing. It was my first Jackson since the 80s and I put 800 Euros of faith in you.
    What was suppoesed to be a classic hardrock/metal guitar for a lifetime with a classic Gibson-style bridge and JB/59 PUs turned out to be a nightmare.
    Even my luthier could not get a decent setup on that guitar. We failed in getting these strings to ring and sing. Whatever adjustment we did choose, the strings seemed unwilling to give a good sound. I am aware, that a metal guitar is not a Tele and there is some good reason for this genre not to sound too bright, but this guitar sounded muffled and dull.
    The nightmare wet on when I found out the the locking tuners could not hold the tunng at all, the white coating was sticky as hell, it took a long time to get it clean and my advice for the owners of such guitars is: Never remove the trussrod cover, never look into any cavitiy cause the woodworking was so bad you would assume a 100$ china copy.
    Now, in 2020, I see the pro line got even more expensive. Hope you stopped wasting peoples hard earned money.
