Thanks for being honest with the sponsorship and explicitly stating not to consider this as a review. Good job there Andrew! For the product itself, having a U series chipset and Meteor Lake's optimisations is definitely a battery monster combo and I hope Lunar Lake can take that a notch or two higher.
Love the transparency Andrew, this is the way to do it. Another youtuber I follow does it in a similar fashion and also adds like ' | Promo' or ' | Sponsored' to the title for anyone who isnt interested in this kind of content. Respect! Side note: Doesnt DDR5 sticks run in dual channel by default and quad channel with multiple sticks? Not sure on the details.
Nice pc. Camera, mics and speakers are good. Like the keyboard layout with a properly laid out numpad unlike the Samsung 16 in. Like the ability to upgrade memory ssd etc. This appears to be an excellent basic pc for regular day to day tasks. With the Intel processor you do not have the compatability issues like with the Qualcomm units at the present time. Great summary of this unit. Hope you are doing okay weatherwise in Las Vegas.
I just bought the same laptop from Amazon last week. I love it. Mine is 11 pro, 64GB RAM, 2TB, the same Intel processor. Only thing I am missing is a touch screen. Should I return and go far a touch screen one? I will not get the same RAM, Hard Disk, and Intel processor at this price.
Everything about the Lenovo ThinkBook 16 Gen 7 (2024) laptop is great except the fact that the display is not all that bright and that's a big negative for me! Other than that, the webcam is clear and so are the internal mics and the quality of the internal speakers are fine for a Windows laptop. If you're willing to put up with a display that is not all that bright, then this is definitely the laptop for you, otherwise, look elsewhere. Awesome review Andrew!! 👍😁
The speakers are just the regular old oval drivers that are attached to every cheap or office laptops, everytime I see that kind of speakers, i never expect the sound to be great
Hello Andrew, thank you for the helpful info on the Lenovo ThinkBook 16 Gen 7, I bought one on Thursday & got it today, not even 2 days ago, so I received it very quickly. I don't have it up & running just yet, I'm hiring someone to help me to transfer everything from my current Lenovo Legion that i bought I think it was in 2019. Since then, I have put 1,000's of hours on this laptop. It works great, but why I bought another laptop was because for months now my battery never stays charged up anymore & I never ever leave it plugged in when not in use. But while I am using it, I pretty much have kept it plugged in, especially now as every time when I go to use it, the battery is totally uncharged. I have no idea on how to change a battery or even on where to purchase one or even if this is possible to do with my 2019 Legion Lenovo, so I decided to buy a new one, it sounds like I made a great choice in picking this one. But I do have one question & it's about the battery, do you think that it'll be a long-life battery & how many hours can a person be on each day. I am a graphic designer; I have a habit of designing images & saving them to my photo files, I have 1,000's of images, also among these I have family photos, scenery images, PDF'S, Documents & more saved. I can't locate my info about my current older Lenovo, so I really cannot recall, how much of an improvement the Lenovo ThinkBook will be over my older Lenovo Legion Gaming laptop, is there a way to locate this on my older laptop? I'd appreciate a reply, thank you.
@@melodyengland4439 hello! I'm not gonna answer every question, but a really valuable piece of advice is to use the Lenovo app and set your max charge to 80% or below.

Hello Andrew, thank you very much for your video! I have a question about the product I hope you can answer me as I cannot find it anywhere. The surface around the keyboard (the main chasis) is also made from aluminum? Upper cover: Aluminum Main core: Aluminum?? Bottom cover: Plastic. I hope you can clarify me this doubt! Thank you!
Beautiful port selection, perfect upgradability, nice arrow keys but an off-center touchpad, atrocious 300 nits and the nerve to even offer a 45 Wh battery in a 16" laptop. Feels like they're really just trolling us at this point.
Hey, Can you suggest which is better: Ultra 9 185H or i9 13900H laptop - Both in Asus Vivobook Series. Also, worth adding $150 to jump from Ultra 7 155H to Ultra 9 185H?
@@rohitsoni9325 If you allow me to have a say on this, I would like to give my view. If you are looking at the Vivobook S series of laptops, 185H variant will be capped at 50W max CPU TDP as far as Asus' own website goes. That might not allow the otherwise excellent Ultra 9 185H to reach max turbo and sustain it for longer durations. i9 13900H in a 16" Vivobook Pro can push around 70W even though it will also struggle to reach anyway near 115W TDP i9 is designed for. So if you are looking for sheer performance, may be try looking for a laptop with better cooling. If that's not the prime concern, 185H is definitely better. It has newer arch, better battery optimisation and is obviously newer. For jumping from 155H to 185H, 185H will perform better in bursty and single threaded loads but in long term, both these CPUs will be capped by 50W cooling capacity Asus specifies so sustained performance might not have that much of a difference.
@@andrewmarcdavid thanks for answer. I managed to find the hardware maintenance manual on Lenovo's website. Unfortunately only SSD is upgradeable and there's only one 2242 slot. It's a real bummer. I really like the two slots and upgradeable ram since it makes it cheap to max it out. The two SSD also makes it nice to have more space cheap as well as install Linux on the secondary drive. I really could need a new machine and I'm really torn where to go for ARM or stick to Intel. It all depends on what the future brings...
The laptop can be configured with 32 gb max but the actual max supported is 96 gb, however, having the same amount of ram on the channels gives you better ram performance, so 64 gb 2x32 gb max without losing performance.
@@cbnx2746 for a 2242 short ssd (which is the preinstalled form factor) you can go up to 2 tb, for the 2280 which is supported, you can go up to 4 tb, and you have 2 m.2 slots so you can go up to 8 tb with a 2x4tb 2280 combo

Its upgradable?
70% srgb ?!
Why not upto 64gb ram?
You can put whatever the cpu supports up to, they just don't sell with it because 64 gb on a laptop i kinda overkill
The max is 96 GB, actually
It can have up to 64Gb not 32Gb
Actually, it's 96 GB
Broooo test the redmibook 16 (2024) pls :D
He's not your bro
It is a ai laptop or not
It does have an NPU and it does have Meteor Lake branding so yes.
