Thank you for doing multiple nail lengths :) most of my clients have an active style nail and it's nice to see how much product you use and the structure you create for the shorter nails. Everyone at Young Nails is so helpful and on point with information, education and nail trends. That's why you're my fav 💜😉 Edit: all of your videos and products makes me want to become an educator in this industry :)
I have so many play lists to go through. Seeing something like this explained makes me want to play with the products even more. I have to wait just a little longer then I can go for it. With me, (and only with some things) I have to hear the same thing a few times over before it sinks in (and it's funny to watch my face when I get it because you can see all the pennies drop in my head LMAO) and this is one of those things because of the different lengths. I love how you all explain things. You and Greg have this amazing way of explaining something slowly but it is never in a patronizing way. So many teachers don't have this when they teach. I swear, when I get this business of mine going, if I ever earn enough...I will make one more trip overseas to come and see you guys!
Seriously bowing to the Tracey god right now! When I trained, Themis wasn’t even explained full stop! The course I originally did was dismal! I then spent years watching and self educating and I still am! I wish I had had a Tracey in my pocket on day 1 🤣🤣❤️❤️❤️
Tsaiyana Smith I wondered that for a long time. Back when I was in school, we learned a little about nails and makeup, but the focus was on hair. I think nails is just something we just have to get additional training for. I know it’s weird
OMG thank you , I’m trying to learn and you basically did everything Greg said not to do but fixed it and the end result was spot on! Makes me feel better that I make those mistakes and can learn how to fix them until I learn to be as good as Greg, thank you for keeping it real and not editing to just fake perfection everytime
Thank you so much for this video. Never have had it explained so well. Would like to see this done with gel too. Thanks again. Look forward to nail school video every Friday. 😀
Thanks Tracey. I finally feel like I understand the correct structure of the nail. You have presented the most clear explanation I've ever heard about the upper arch and apex. I am far from perfect but am better informed now so I will continue to strive for perfection. :}
Excellent video, nice work Tracy! Tons of videos talking about apex and arches here on YT but NONE have clarified it this way. Super valuable information right here, on Nail School! ❤️
Not sure why all the criticism is about. I think she explained this in a great way. You would be surprised of the shitty nails I get done here in Savannah, GA. I would do my nails with this lady without any hesitation. Thank you for the video! I swear next time I’ll have this video on my phone when I go to a nail salon.
Desi Doo doing your own acrylic nails isn't easy, but doing it while being filmed would be even more difficult. It takes courage to share a tutorial, knowing that some people are going to critique or criticize it. I'm sure she was focused more on teaching us how to apply product to build a strong nail, rather than focusing on creating a perfect looking nail. The last shot of her nails was perfect, so she obviously touched them up. If you look at her other work you'll see that she's an amazingly gifted nail tech, & her work is flawless. 😉
No disrespect taken, unfortunately I can't really see what I'm doing when doing my own nails on camera. Sounds funny, but to be in the right spot for the camera I can't put or turn the nail like I would normally. I will say though, I never really worry about what the application looks like, because I only care about the end result. It's kinda like when I get my hair done, I look like a freak with all the foils in my hair but as long as it looks good in the end.. I'm happy. Hope that helps.
candice bergstrom Thank you Candice! I do understand what you mean. I am a nail tech and I do think that she does amazing work. Like I said I wasn't saying it to be mean it was just an observation that I would appreciate someone telling me. All of her other videos are great so it just didn't seem like her. Thank you for your response. Have a blessed day.
Tracey Reierson 😂😂😂 yes I understand. Just like I told Candice, I love your work from the other videos I have seen. Thank you for your reply. Again it was not to be mean. Thank you and have a blessed day.
Riana Nails Boutique the set was very cute, but unfortunately, it the video wasn't in real time (it was sped up) and there wasn't a voiceover explanation. I never saw anytime cut the mark form to make it fit a finger. That was a pretty good trick. Lol. The video was Heidi with that. So thanks for the link😊.
Nice explanation but your application is extremely uneven, random thickness, missing sides and very lumpy 🤔😔 I prefer the guy he explains everything awesome and has beautiful application!
I see what you mean, I think the point is just to explain the difference in the lengths when creating the Apex and thickness. It helped me understand better anyway
I went to two different schools in two different states and this explanation was the best and most informative. I so want to go to one of your week long classes. Which color is that??
Every time you took your brush away from the nail did you wipe it on the paper towel , or dipped it in monomer then wiped on the paper towel or just dipped it in monomer
Thank you, thank you for this!! I'm getting better each time but find doing an infill to get that apex back into it's right place can be a bit of a struggle especially with a 3-4 week grow out. I always look forward to Nail School Friday! 😁
I’m licensed cosmo and i’ve recently have found interest in nails. I want to practice laying acrylic but all I have right now are my own nails. Unfortunately for me I have short, flat nail beds with free edges that fan out. How would I create an arch without it looking thick and bulky?
I'm still utterly confused about this. I understand the why and where the upper arch and apex goes, but I'm still not sure what the optimal thickness is for the longer nails especially 🤔😭
You can tell her brush is old thats why the acrylic keeps wanting to stick to it while she's trying to guide it. You can see bits of acrylic still stuck to the brush which makes its lose it shape, hence making it harder to smooth out the acrylic. I've been doing nails for 20 years, so that's how I was able to spot it. Her guided instruction was wonderful, she just needs a new brush 😉
Great video! I've been searching for a clear answer since i started school. Is the stress area where the white of the nail tip starts? If not, where is it on the nail?......thanks! Michelle
thanks so much for this. i know where an apex needs to be but came on here as i feel like im going stir crazy seeing massive over thick bulging apexes "wayyyy" back and tipping downwards with no support over the actual apex area. Some of the nails are like a cm thick in total! crazy . Even well known peoples videos seem to be redesigning where this apex is. Feel like im going mad! its not how i was taught. thanks for this video x
I’m not an expert but is there anyway you can make false nails look less bulky in that apex. I’m trying to learn but I just don’t like the way they look with big bulges. So unnatural looking.
The longer the nail the more strength you need at the apex to keep the nail from snapping at it's stress point. You can still have a very thin sleek looking nail by thinning out your tip and cuticle area. Just need to be sure you have proper strength and structure so your nails don't snap
Omg , even I know your acrylic is far too wet and you're not cleaning your brush properly , all over the place. I don't think this represents YN Nails School very well , sorry but got to be honest.
And how would you deal with clients that like their nails long and thin and don't want that arch look in their nail, when then want it long and flat looking? (I hope I explained my self right🙈)
trini fairley acetone can dry them out, and acrylic as long as it's EMA and not MMA, should not damage your natural nails. It is the nail techs use of the tools that is damaging nails, not the product itself. I know you weren't asking me, but I seen that no one answered your question yet. ☺
Oookkkk Kool... Was just wondering because I have naturally hard nice nails... Anna I grow them.. So I was thinking of I decide to practice acrylic on my nails I don't want it to get damaged. From d acytone or sum
trini fairley I would definitely just be careful not to over file your natural nails. Just a light buff is all they'll need for enhancements. ☺ Get a good cuticle oil to give back what the acetone dries out.
She always sounds like she’s on the verge of crying bless her🥺
Haha if you knew her you'd know that couldn't be further from the truth! Strongest lady we know.
Invaluable lessons!! 👏👏👏 Can't thank YN enough for all this education!! 🙏🙏
Our pleasure!
Everytime she says.. "walk it out" I start sing that kinda older rap/hip hop song.. " I walk it out, I walk it out.".. Lol.. I can't be the only one!
amanda steuver Hahahaha totally
Lol me too.
amanda steuver I did it tooooo!
amanda steuver lol

Thank you so much Tracey! The three demonstrations was excellent.
Best vid I found.
❤️❤️
I think she was nervous. this whole video seems off
Nerves happen in salon all about working through it right!? That apex looked great!
Yea she’s so shaky!
Lmao. Yeah. I had to mute it.

this was explained so well. why didn't I have this when in school doing cosmetology. the one class they have us was horribly explained

you guys may not be the prettiest on earth, but definitely the best nail techs 👍 ... no disrespect
The best advice on nails I've heard, detailed and all , you just got a new subscriber , have a blessed day.

i LOVE YOU GUYS FOR DOING THIS TUTORIAL...I'VE BEEN WAITING FOREVER FOR THIS!!!
I love the way you explain things! But I really think you application can be a little better. No disrespect 🙏🏿

I was just reading about this today. Perfect timing for me. Thanks!!
Sooooo helpful! I've have short nails but now realize I have been doing it like I have long nails!
I would like to see this on a hard Gel. Hard Gel is liquid and moves around depending on how warm the salon is. Please show this on hard Gel 😊

i build one nail in that video, maybe is helping you

Thank Young Nails for side views to complete your video's and good education! I learn the most from side views😘
😊❤️
Thanks, Tracey!!! Awesome and extremely helpful!!! 💅🏽💅🏽💅🏽
Great explanation of the apex and arch!
Nice explanation but your application is extremely uneven, random thickness, missing sides and very lumpy 🤔😔
I prefer the guy he explains everything awesome and has beautiful application!
I was thinking the same thing
I think maybe she did on her own nails that’s why she couldn’t see clearly
I see what you mean, I think the point is just to explain the difference in the lengths when creating the Apex and thickness. It helped me understand better anyway
the brush is wack too
Then dont watch this video! See that simple 😉
Great video tracy very informative thank you for sharing, this was the first video I have seen with a good explanation👍👍👍
I went to two different schools in two different states and this explanation was the best and most informative. I so want to go to one of your week long classes. Which color is that??
Hi Christina, I used Cover Peach.
Makes so much sense!! Thanks Tracy!!👍❤
Love, love the refresher! Thank you.
Every time you took your brush away from the nail did you wipe it on the paper towel , or dipped it in monomer then wiped on the paper towel or just dipped it in monomer
Thank you! I love your vids, so easy to follow and understand 😁
Ohh I love Tracey's jacket!!
Very clear explained. Thank you

Great explanation! Thank you Tracy.
I'm still utterly confused about this. I understand the why and where the upper arch and apex goes, but I'm still not sure what the optimal thickness is for the longer nails especially 🤔😭
Rhonda Tol me neither did you ever figure it out
Your thickness should go from the tip to the apex.
Ah I love 💖 you guys! Tracey you’re so pretty! X
Liz's Acrylic Nails TY!
Liz you're pretty fab too!!
Great tutorial Tracey! Thanks
This just changed my life
lol nice
I love these videos! I’m curious, what inspired you guys to start making “Nail School” videos?
This is sooo useful! 👍💜
Look at my sis Tracy! Y'all are a good looking bunch of people. Tfs!
Lela Robinson Ty❤️
It was explained well but that application was pretty bad, was it nerves?
Good advice, Thank You 😍💜 Tracy
So helpful! Thanks for sharing!😀

😍😍👏💕💕💕
❤️
My nails always break. Is it because of Apex? Maybe I am not doing it right.! 😢
Could just be over worked
@@youngnailsinc will keep that in mind thank you
Do I need to build an apex on a long natural nail?
The longer the nail the more product is necessary to avoid splitting or cracking
Thanks again!
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💜💙💛❤

She might be left handed...Since her right hand already had nails on. It’s hard laying acrylic with your non dominant hand.
Gracias!
Can you do a video of how you cleab your drill bits
Where can I get a jar like the one you’re using for the monomer?
Michelle Gallas young nails website
They sell it on their website
I'm going to fix my own nails tomorrow, I hate, hate, hate flat nails.
What acrylic brush is this please
Young nails acrylic sculptor
Which polymer are you using??
Our Cover Pink Acrylic
And how would you deal with clients that like their nails long and thin and don't want that arch look in their nail, when then want it long and flat looking? (I hope I explained my self right🙈)
We always try to explain to clients why a long flat nail will not work, that they need an arch for the strength so that the nails do not break.
Does d acrylic and acytone damage ur natural nail?

Porfa ponga subtítulos en español son excelentes sus explicaciones pero necesito traducción.😭😉
I think it’s time for a new brush.
Nice
❤️❤️
What are your opinions on the new / European apex?
Dawn Astin what is that? Can you explain? I've never ever heard of that. Would like to know-it-alls!!
Thanks*** not know it all's 😂😂
Application was horrific.
all good, end result was beautiful :)
Taking so much monomer? Back to basics.
