I was 9 yrs .old then Petula Clark was one of the best singers I've heard and still love her songs .
Petula Clark has many other beautiful songs but this one is particularly interesting because it has an upbeat melody but the message is truly sad. Being left by someone you truly love for someone new is truly heartbreaking.

I once sat next to her at a film trade show in Soho in the early 50's ( the film was a British B film" the Girl who couldn't quite". The film sunk with out trace. but I still remember her Pigtails. and smile. I am 3 years younger than her.
