It's always good to get a win over a rival, but this was an awful performance by Alabama. Don't be fooled by the fact that it was LSU - they were missing eight starters, they have a terrible lame duck head coach, and they were already bad this year even at full strength. I think a legitimate argument could be made that this was the worst performance in a win by an Alabama team in the Saban era.
This is the game where I really started to dislike Bill O'Brian as a play caller. I already questioned him for the Texas A&M game but this game cemented it. Bama took only a few deep shots against a team missing several CB's. We had virtually no run game going. And with 2 minutes left up by only 6 BOB decides to run three straight plays and loose yards.
ESPN, by far, has the absolute worst presentation of all. Can barely hear the crowd noise, just Chris Fowler yapping on & on relishing in hearing himself talk. CBS games > ESPN games.
Agreed, although Kirk Herbstreit talks more than Fowler and more than anyone else in college football and maybe all of sports. It takes me twice as long to make highlights for a game with Herbstreit on color commentary because it's difficult to find a moment where he isn't speaking long enough to make the edit without cutting him off mid-word. Sad that all SEC games will be on ESPN for the foreseeable future after this season.
@@BamaRewind if they would throw Gary and Brad a deal I'd be super happy. That's the only thing I'm going to miss is Brad and Gary calling those big SEC matchups.
@@dupreehundo3070 he still beat you and won the division while playing with transfer players and a first year coach rebuilding the roster didn’t he? And why throw when you’re too good at running he ran in circles on bama’s defense

And a loss would have been worse than the Louisiana-Monroe loss in 2007. That was Saban’s first year and a rebuilding year.
this was such a good game, very fun to watch. i was very pleasantly surprised how close it was
I was surprised as well. I thought Alabama would win by a lot more.

Ugly win but I'll take it.
