I really enjoyed his vision of Battlestar Galactica and how he reimaged the series. Also I am a big fan of DS9 and thought he did a tremendous job by adding dimension to what was a boring Utopian universe. I cant wait for the new bsg series blood and chrome, however I am skeptical of the movie.
Ron Moore is proof that risk is always good. Even like the first series that didn't make money, it has launched interesting, cultural perspectives, cult followings and finally the blockbuster of BSG. Soon to come the first BSG Convention we are preparing for. Risk is good but isn't always profitable. Christi [Dr. Elea Kaun of Colonial Command]
Mormon Theology used to teach that the Native Americans were the lost tribes(13th) of Israel and two missionaries told me this in 1980. This was before DNA testing was developed.
@vbritsi well he won with Battlestar :) Maybe that's all he'll have, but that alone has caused so much inspiration and influence among fans.. don't see the motivation behind your hate, he's a nice guy
One thing that I don think Ron ever talked about is the society structure he created. I submit that it is ( be design or by accident) Matriarchal. Everything is very female-centric. From the believes they held to the parts that were cast. The "heavies" were mostly ladies on both sides of Humans and Cylons. I would love to know if Ron Moore planned that!
As an atheist I loved each season of the show. The symbolism, the zodiac, even the whole religious thing. fiction is fiction, a total fantasy. I will absolutely love the remake till I die or become amnesiac.
As an Atheist as well, I didn't find anything wrong with the religious aspects of the show either. I think it even made the show better. What I didn't like was that religion was the actual answer to everything that was going on in the series. There were all the parts and pieces that were interwoven and interacting with each other, and I was so excited to finally see what it was that connected them all, and then I get to the last episode and the answer was, "God done it." Like, it was ok that people were motivated and influenced by their religious beliefs, and it added an element to the show that would have been difficult to replace, but hinting that god(s) were actually the reason for everything happening in the show was just lame. Really a huge let down for me. Was just like the biggest cop out ending to a show ever. Seasons 2 and 3 were probably the best two things I've seen on TV. Season 4.....not so much.

I don't know, wasn't the Six that Gaius kept seeing actually real? There's proof of it in the text, she lifted him up and everything when he was being beat down! Everyone saw it, it was like a miracle. What was up with that?
Maybe it's not out where you live but the series is over here. And "Day in the Life" was indeed awful, but it had no flashbacks for Lee's old gf on Caprica, that was Black Market.
Yes you are, respect has nothing to do with it. It's okay, I forgive you. I understand that you have an emotional attachment to you belief. Have a nice day.
No, it was "A Disquiet Follows My Soul" from season 4... the material was fine it just felt a bit clunky, which usually points to directing. You're thinking of Black Market... which had pretty good directing actually, but the script and story concept was shite.

Just rewatching the whole series again (9x times probably) now with the director commentary. Thanks for this unique additional video .

DS9 is my favorite Sar Trek series. TNG has my favorite episode but DS9 never fails to make me smile.

OMG, i wish he would come to lecture at my school.
I'm an atheist and even with the religious parts of the show it's still one of my favorite series ever of all time.

Loved the 70's BSG as a kid, remember having a toy viper and cylon space ship.
Regarding RISK, it can be controlled and calculated.
I had a battlestar Galactica pilots Jacket
In the series is also the concept of rising above the 12 signs of the zodiac.

The new BSG has shallow characters and dumb plots with numerous plot holes. If you like this crap, you are only showing how dumb you are. LOL

Tree Rock Creations Okay, I'm deleting you now because you are a troll and obviously haven't been taught any respect.

See video info on the right.
Actually...he's got a great reimagination. Because anyone who drives a car backwards so skillfully is a god.

The Lords of Kolob!
Totally agree. Religion has no place in Sci Fi or shoved in my face anywhere for that matter...
Maybe it's not out where you live but the series is over here.

Well Broman, religion seems to be actual answer to everything.
@vbritsi
Your statement says more about you then it does about him.
Yeah in fact the one episode he directed definitely felt a little awkward.

And now in 2023 we are dealing with AI. Life imitates art.

the religious part of the story is the most boring part.
What makes you think I'm a "God squad nut job"?
Totally ruined it by keeping the excess religious fallacious nonsense.
I know this guy. He is the dude that nearly killed Battlestar Galactica with his perverse and woke interpretation of the great Glen Larson's vision.
big facts
I am not trying to, you did it to yourself already showing your single minded ignorance. Its not about what is what, its about respect.
the original was the best! Only watched the horrid remake for a couple of seasons, then it becamse a space soap opera.
Was there a specific character that you hated seeing everytime s/he showed up?
the original was utter tosh; the re-make was brilliant
.....huh???
Ron Moore? Moore-Ron
Who is this heck?
Do you mean hack?
Religion ruined the show.
