I love your locs! I’m 3 months in and I’m enjoying my locs. This video is very informative. I work out 4-5 times a week and my locs frizz up. As a loose natural I embraced my frizz so I’m okay with frizzy locs. I love the look!! As a loose natural my hair was waist length and way too much to deal with. Locs symbolize freedom to me. It’s the best decision I’ve ever made as far as my hair is concerned. 💞

Thank you for this video. The first 2 times I did locs, I had the notion that my hair would always be neat. So chose smaller traditional locs and I then did micro locs. Now that I know my hair is only going to be styled for a week every 8 weeks. I was able to choose thicker locs to match the lifestyle and aesthetic I want to keep on a daily. This video also has me re-evaluating whether I should retwist for special occasions or interlock. I'm only a month in. But this is the first time I've felt like, I'm happy and ready to go through the full journey.

Try peppermint oil mixed with a carrier oil like apricot oil and apply to the scalp. A drop of tea tree oil is also good to add to apricot oil and apply to the scalp as needed. It stops the itch for several days for me.

Heey!! I love that you made this video!!! I’m 4 months into my loc journey.. but before I decided to loc my hair I did a bunch of research and I found a BUNCH of videos glorifying locs. Now don’t get me wrong I LOVE MY LOCS… but there are things that I was not prepared for … for sure!! I think I may make my own video about the cons I’ve experienced as well being that I started using the instant loc method! I thought it would be easy but GIRL!! Lol

yesss!! honestly😭 bc why create a false reality and give ppl the impression that there will be little to no challenges. The videos i watched teaching me about obstacles were the ones that helped me most to prepare for my journey🙌🏾

@@joneejoseph4972 hey!! So instant locs are basically where you or a loctitian would section your hair and back comb & crochet your natural hair to create a loc. it won’t be a mature loc but you kind of get a head start! I actually made a video on instant locs.. feel free to check it out!! I’ve had mine for 5 months now

I really love this style ! I usually hate loc updos . As a person who has locs I think majority of loc updos are ugly and remind me of old 90s kitchen updos lol but yours I love it !!!! The gold with the orange is nice too !!

One thing I’m worried about with getting locs is the fact that I have split ends and some of them are higher then others, so I’m worried and curious to how that would affect my locs?

I remember when I first started my locs I would only keep the style in for a couple days cuz it was so short, now that’s it’s been over a year it doesn’t feel as tight I’ll go about two weeks worth a style. Girl my retwist don’t last for nothing I do workout 4 times a week. It doesn’t brother me I just accept that it won’t last.
