Although the downside is that it's slower than most dashes but she compensates it anyways by having insane jump range

You forget that with Fiddle's W you can turn any champ into an effective jungler.

Ziggs W being overlooked so quickly was very dissapointing! It is so much more than only destroying towers. It acts as engage and disengage, it can peel for yourself of others, dash over walls, push enemies over walls, insec enemies into your team from a distance, you can even throw yourself forward and Q midair for sick alley hoop finishes. Its one of the most fun abilities in the game! And when you max it the execute on towers is so high it can win you games on its own.
Buddy and i play ziggs (adc) / garen (supp) and the ziggs W is the bread and butter of the lane. The utility is real and nobody respects it.

I guess you really underestimate the farming impact of junglers. Fiddle W for example is at least "good AF" because of his healthy and fast clear.

Why would a skill making some a viable jungler be strong?? Especially when jungle pets already did this.
@@iceicejay9569 Because jungle Pets only help clearing, but they don't make you clear faster than your opponent.
One of the most important things for a jungler is tempo. If you clear faster, you gank faster and that makes a difference that can snowball games from one kill alone.
Consider this: Nidalee is top with lv 3 at 2:45. Poppy however needs a bit longer to clear and can only arrive top at 3:00. Now the Nidalee has 15 seconds to gank without any interruption. (This is an arbitrary example, but will happen with a lot of jungle matchups.)
That's why the jungle clear is probably much more important than any other aspect of a junglers kit.
In current patch any champion can have a healthy clear if correctly done, jg stoped doing damage in 2024. The fast part is where Fiddle shines, his clear is ultra easy and fast
Kog'Maw W is ultimate levels of power and singlehandedly makes his kit function in AD builds. Calling it Niche is insane. on basically ANY champ who can utilize auto attacks it does absurd extra damage. it turns EVERY SINGLE MELEE champ into URGOT. As I said it is basically his actual Ult and even with low AS it scales like mad for high AP champs. Imagine Veigar having access to it?

I really believe Kog'maw's W should be on Top 10 simply because if it wasn't for it, AD Kog'maw wouldn't exist and nobody would play Kog'maw ever without it.

My man put building terrain and changing the map, knock down and displacement and changing enemy pathing as subpar 😢 Anivia deserves more respect for what wall can do. Instant cancel on any channeling ability is huge. Stops Sion ult, nunu snowball, naut hook or any dash if you are fast enough. Not even including you can pin enemys against terrain and effectively root them for 6 seconds. Can also manipulate ally minion waves. Honorable mention is that it is 1 of the very few cc on ally.

As a nunu player ive been walled off by own anivias more than enemy anivia
neekos w is way stronger then you seem to think. Her clone has a hitbox so it triggers traps eats skillshots stops sion and nunu ult and creates vision to scout bushes or around corners

As a Poppy player Id actually prefer anivias W. The anti dash is really only helpful in teamfights since the cd on it is so long without items and enemy dash cooldowns are so short.
As a Singed main I'd love having a huge ass wall to stop enemy champs for my W
I mean of course you would, it's one of the few champions that interacts with walls LOL obviously
Also a poppy main. I think steadfast presence is extremely strong. And I would pick it over a wallgen, because you can peel, reposition and deny wall hops e.g. In Pitfights. But you could live with both.

I think gnar being moved down was a mistake since Gnar's applies from Runaans and can be stacked on multiple targets for massive team fight aoe damage.
Also I love the idea of just making champions out of other kits and I've done it a few times for shits and giggles, you can come up with some truely wild combinations.

You can make a tier list of best CC abilities in the game, or best dash abilites, something like that
Cassio w is one of the best abilities of the game on paper, except the casting time is non-negligeable, and often champions still dash out of it when they are supposed to be grounded. So it's also the most frustrating ability to use.
The infamous "booty" Shen W that is literally AOE invisibility against some team compositions
Against functioning human beings it's useless or without incredible team co-operation it's also useless. It's also on a crazy long cool down with a high energy cost. Counter strike is better in every way

Nunu w should be up there, its one of those strong scaling abilities but also is incredibly good when your behind, also it makes even the most uncoordinated teammates know who to attack

I would put kog w in top 10, his entire kit and gameplay is based on that, the rest of his kit is nearly useless. Now imagine something, you either give this to a champion with a much larger range like cait and she can oneshot you from a screen away or a champion that has a very defensive kit liek xayah or sivir
Rakan's W is not just solid its good as f**k. Yes you acknowledged its an aoe cc. But you underestimate how useful it is. You compare it to pantheon W but Pantheon needs a target in order to dash, Rakan W does not. You can use it to deep ward safely or escape from situations most champs would need flash to escape from. Its a get out of jail free card on top of being great CC. As a Rakan main i am biased but i think you undervalue how great his W is
Hey Vars, I love your content. I usually use it as a podcast in the car. However in both cars, one with a really good sound system, the audio sounds really deep, lots of bass I guess. Which makes it hard to understand sometimes. It even sounds like the speakers are resonating on the good system with not that high of a volume. Keep up the good work. Thank you.
Man you know would be a good game mode. Okay imagine Hwei can transform to any champion stats and his passive can be any passive in the game, q can be any three q of any champion, w can be any three w, e can be any three e, and ult is any ult in the game. You basically make your own champion before you enter the game and let it run loose and see how creative people can get.
Next do most OP champion emotes Jax fishing emote has to be S+
In the wiki, the burrowed skills of Rek'Sai are considered part of the W, so I think it'd be a lot better
I imagine if League had game modes like LoD from old Dota. Where you choose abilities from random heroes you are given and build your unique combo. I know it would be hell to balance but so much fun.

the only one i disagree is zoes W, it's def a top 10 skill, it has no CD and no mana cost, the only limitation is that you need someone to use a summoner spell but you can charge it by farming a wave, it counters flash since if they flash away you can pick up the flash shard and flash after the enemy with a movement speed buff, if they ignite you, you can ignite back if they heal you get a free heal + a ms buff, and if they use any active item effect you get a free item activation, on a chaotic team fight it's a permanent ms buff + dmg, it only doesn't shine on zoe since her kit is literally built with her W as an extra unecessary skill, she can literally function with her E,Q and R and the W is just an extra skill, if it was a champion like an assassin or a diver that forces the enemy to actively use summoner spells to survive this W would be insane on a lot of champions
Imagine having a gamemode where you o could choose your own abilities. Personally I would take
Vlad passive, evolved khazix Q with Sion W and than prob Riven E but am not sure and for the ult i would take karthus R

As a rengar main I gotta say you missed when you forgot about some insane ap aoe damage as well as 50% on any damage in the the last burst could be a 500 health heal pretty often. Crazy ass ability

I don't like being that guy. But may want to reevaluate some of the champion placements.
Example: In what universe is taliyah's nondamaging w even in the same sentence as ziggs's satchel, much less better? Satchel nukes turrets, knocksback enemies, pushes ziggs forward to even go over walls, and almost files his taxes for him.😂

59:00 it also lock on the nearest ennemy including minion if you didn't threw your q before on the champ so you cannot use it effectively in a wave without q, and same for turrets, you kinda want to get turrets fast with the purge + autoreset to optimize damage but you can't if there is a wave coming. i would downgrade to solid tbh

You forgot to mention that maokai's w also make him untargetable and invulnerable, amazing for dodging abilities
Tbf Viktor's W is an amazing dissuasion tool. Viktor loves keeping his opponents at a distance and it does a good job allowing him to Q E R and Auto from a range.
Tristana's W is good af. Remember that it resets on takedown too, imagine that on an assasin.

How did you put Nilah w above Gwen w? Dodge plus 25% magic damage reduction somehow beats out immunity to almost all damage and crowd control plus huge stacking resistances for everything else?
Gwen w is worthless in 80% of top matchups, but it's criminally good against mages and ad casters, that's why it's in that tier and not top 10
@@bullettime1116 This isn't a list of how good would these W's be on other people in that champs main position. Imagine a full build Jinx raining hell down on your team from her backline and noone can do anything about it because you didn't draft an assassin and "Jinx is Immune"
The only reason Gwen W isn't that great in top matchups is because she is a melee champion fighting melee champions. But put it on a midlaner or an adc and it's broken.
@@hiurro yeah I get that, i assumed it was their ability on them, if you gave ahri this ability she'd be pick or ban, but I still meant what I said, her ability is only good against mages and ad casters, adcs can just wait her w out and range her(hence why she's ass against range top despite having her w). And other classes can either one shot her or escape her

It seems like you are explaining why it is balanced on Gwen, but the point of the tier list is how good are these abilities if any other champ in the game could replace their W with it. Like yes, an adc can wait out the mists if gwen is the one using them, but if it was on other champions that could threaten damage while being immune it is absurdly broken. Second only to yuumi attach in my opinion, and at the very least way better than nilah w.
@@hiurro reason still being is that the immunity is still very finicky while nilahs isn't, nilah w works regardless of proximity while Gwen w doesn't, also nilah w isn't 100% selfish as an ability compared to nilah w

you're forgetting that vars is evaluating the abilities as just their abilities ignoring the rest of their kit. if you put other champions with rengar W, they'd only have the damage/heal part as the cleanse part is on rengar's passive

I’m imagining Yuumi W on Fiddlesticks, like you said. I imagine him being in a champion, it counts as unseen (until a patch), he ults, and the ult detaches you to jumpscare your enemies. And because you counted as unseen, you get the aoe fear. Suuuuper busted
yuumi can't use any movement abilities while attached (i.e. flash, rocketbelt, galeforce) so therefore fiddle wouldnt be able to ult

Nasus W is toxic as hell but that goes both ways because it's completely invalidated by phase rush and QSS.
Kayle is traditional a free matchup for Nasus, but I once played into a phase rush ghost cleanse Kayle who was impossible to kill between cleanse, phase rush, ghost, and her ult. So she ended up just turbo carrying later.
Tryndamere is also usually a free matchup, but I played into one one who ran also ghost cleanse and built mercurial scimitar (QSS). Legit impossible to kill / pressure and in fact he would have a much easier time killing me.
But yeah, you're right that it's mostly "fine ish" because it's on Nasus, who relies a bit too much on W and ult to actually do anything.
being forced to use a summoner spell for a basic ability with a fairly low cd everytime its up its still really bad, if you go QSS you literally criplle your build and get one less item slot, specially if you are an AP champ cause u get nothing out of the item stats, its not about the slow but the 90% atack speed slow quite literally negates half the rosted in the game

Yeah sucks to have to QSS tax but it literally wins you duels / teamfights.
Many ADCs take cleanse anyway, and taking cleanse top on certain champs isn't really a big deal. It also means you don't need to invest in QSS or in as much slow resist/tenacity.
Like is clearly worth it if it literally swings the entire matchup from bad to manageable-good.
Imo Nasus needs a power budget shift away from W/R and into passive/Q/E. He's way too reliant on W and R to function.
@@rayc766 its fair mostly cause nasus doesnt have anyway to capitalize on you wasting your summoners like that but i get what you mean, also about the power budget its REALLY hard to shift him away form W/R cause if you give his Q/E too much power Nasus can unironically become a lane bully so they give him defensive/reactive power intead of active
I was fully expecting kogs W to go in Top10 and then it went in niche. Any auto attack champion (ADC or melee) would kill for that ability

Nidalee's bushwhack isn't terrible at all ! It gives vision on 2 different occasions which is more than useful, often lifesaving in her risky gameplans. And that's on top of other purposes such as landing a spear with more ease, clearing faster etc

Nah, Nidalee's W is pretty unreliable outside of cougar form, low damage, gives a little vision i guess, when you place it though, and doesnt really do much else, the cougar W is great though, I wish they would update her trap a bit at least, like give it a 10% slow or something on proc, I mained nid for a while and the trap always felt underwhelming

nidalee with hard cc would be an abomination to face, but ill admit, a 30% 2s decaying slow on the trap might be a nice addition for espaces and shit

Sett w had a build based around it. It can do over 4k damage in a normal game if you get over 400 ad and 4k hp, which isn't that hard with heartsteel steraks, titanic, cleaver. I mean this is by far the best ability in the game because it is the 1 shot ability. You talked about losing match ups because things like wither. Sett w wins games.
Only month later and it cant anymore. Sett is useless rn.
irelia w is pretty much yi but does damage and still up even if cc, two are pretty close so i feel like that yi w should be rank higher.

I have to hard disagree with Ekko W being only usable, it's an excellent setup tool for dive champions that can close a huge gap on you like Camille and Jarvan. The fact that not only it's an AOE stun that lasts 2.25s but it also gives you a small shield is inasnely good on so many champions.

@@minidays960 You should also fear Shaco with Ekko W since you will be oblivious of the fact that he's collapsing onto you (because of his Q) until it's too late and he gets a free stun + as many backstabs as he wants or a free flash out of you

this video proves that some abilities are balanced by the fact they're on that champion. give it to any other champion and they break the game

I honestly think her W is the best basic ability in the game. If you use it properly it can be legit good against any champion in the game.
As an urgot main. I'd say his W is niche. Because it doesn't do onhit effects. So Bork. Kraken etc don't work on it. And only a few passive as stated like darius WOULD be good. But losing 66% damage may not be totally worth it.

While i agree that this logic doesn't really make sense, Yorick's wall is destroyable and doesn't function like terrain in the way anivias does.

It's a good ability but would be better used on a midlaner, literally 80% of her most common matchups are melee where her w is just stats and the other effect is non existent

Why is Kog’Maw in situational but Neeko gets pretty good? Neeko gets bouns magic damage every third auto with a 60% scaling. Sure it is always active, and it has the defensive aspect of the active. But Kog’Maw gives 210 bonus range and 6% max HP magic damage per hit ( +1% per 100 AP) sure it is an active but after you hit the button you get the stats for 8 seconds which is plenty long.
Mages would not mind it because it makes trading against them impossible and deadly in the early game if I slap 3% of your HP with every auto. And they can then build Nashers to commit to it which by itself raises the on hit damage by 1% and gives a load of attack speed. Also Ability haste so the down time between W cast is shorter. It is every ADCs dream assuming they give a shit about auto attacks. Imagine Caitlyn with 860 range with 6% max HP magic damage for 8 whole seconds. Or Jinx rockets from fishbone doing AOE max health damage (if Jinx AOE do on hit). Melee auto attackers would eat as well. Jax may lose an auto reset but who needs an auto reset when he stuns you stacks lethal tempo/passive then doubles his attack range for 8 seconds. Briar might like it but her kit revolves around her W so moot point. Only really tanks and enchanters don’t want it unless their W is important to their kit. Just because the ability scales with attack speed well does not mean you need to build on hit and attack speed items to use it.

Sona W and Seraphine W are definitely too high while Janna's too low imo. Seraphine's W has horribly long cooldown and without the double cast, the shielding is kind of mid. Sona's W, without her passive, has horribly high cooldown. Janna's W gives her a lot of passive movement speed, making her much better for getting around the map quickly.
Not sure though. I'm kind of very low elo, so I could just be flat out wrong, but this is just how I felt.
seraphine and sona Ws are lackluster early game, thats true, the thing is they both are hyperscalling enchanter + mage characters, and when they reach the big power spike of 2 items the W cooldown becomes short for the obscene numbers of shields it gives to every single ally around you. Moonstone sera in particular, with moonstone + redemption + flowing water becomes a teamfight monster by giving every single ally around her a huge ass shield and a big burst of healing every few seconds or so with her double cast. its really strong late game, but yeah, early game its weak
you missed his point about passive reliance, both sona and seraphine rely on their passive specifically in the scaling scenario you mentioned. Sona's passive gives her 60 ability haste on her w as well as the on hit damage reduction completely ruining her late game w spam. Seraphines passive is what allows the double cast and subsequent heal from her (technically if someone else shielded sera she could get the healing portion out of the w, but that would likely require another enchanter), further the shield value on sera is remarkably low so that even building support on a base 150(+20% ap) shield can only increase it so much especially factoring less gold gain as a support.@@desgracainferno
I think you forgot the fact that only Briar can stop her W, all other champs would be stuck with it for the 5 seconds, which means... Lots of towerdives
But really good video! I can however tell that you think more about toplane champions and sometimes mages, but some abilities mentioned would work GREAT with some supports (i would love Wither with Janna) or for jungle clear.
Not really sylas when he takes her ult can stop the taunt with his e so the same concept would apply to other champs
Okay, you need to put Cho'Gath's W into Top 10 abilities. Any mage would kill to have a 70% AP ratio spell with a 2 second silence attached to it. Hell, if it got transferred over to any other tank, they'd like it too. Junglers, supports, that shit is crazy fucking broken. If your criteria allowed the spell's ratio to be adjusted when on an AD champion to something like 50% bAD scaling, it'd be broken on them too. The cooldown is goofily short too, scaling linearly down from 13 seconds to 9 seconds. It has busted as hell based numbers too, starting at a modest 80 base, ending out at a mind bending 300 base damage.
If you swapped Feral Scream onto any ranged champion, you'd be hard pressed to find more than a handful that are sad about that change. Lux trades out 2 small shields in a quick burst for a shotgun silence that one shots any assassin who dares to fucking try her. LeBlanc goes from a mobile AP assassin to a short range battlemage, and her ultimate would allow her to chain silence you for 4 seconds, dealing 300 damage in a cone, TWICE, without even factoring in the 70% AP ratio. She'd also have safer wave clear. Annie literally just gets an upgraded version of her own W, coupled with her passive would grant her a stun AND a silence.
The only downside to Cho'Gath's Feral Scream is the range. 650 unit range on an artillery mage is a huge letdown, but in lane phase, this is crazy oppressive into any melee matchup. The silence at level 1 is 1.6 seconds, it's just so goddamn busted. If you lead with this spell against any spell-reliant champion, you've dealt unpunishable damage to them on a 13 second cooldown. By level 9, once you've maxed this ability, it will be a 300 base damage, 2 second silence on a 9 second cooldown, with 70% AP ratio. This is aids.
Nah, most of the "niche" abilities should've been higher.
Yeah, as a Yi main I think his W is one of the most disgusting moves in the game
How nasus is not number 1? Excluding special interactions like zed or yuumi nasus' w makes you win every 1v1. In midgame+ there are like 5 or less champions in the game that beat nasus in 1v1, and 2 of them are because they cleanse the w, mastery y and olaf

I love Mundo's W. It can catch people off-guard very often with the instant healing of a burst. Helped me escape ganks a lot of times
On one hand I would give it a level at 3 for some burst trades and not ignore it completely, but on the other hand man this ability is straight HOTDOG WATER though. I would gladly trade it for basically any of the tank w like garen or mord or rammus that is a straight upgrade to the tankiness or Maokai for some cc or something. At the rate he is going probably something like adding to w the tenacity and mr from his old kit is the only way to juice it up. Like I have to be close enough to enemy champs for the grey health back anyways, which they could easily just deplete again with autos or abilities. 😢
Morgana's W was placed too high. You thought it gets reduced cooldown, but that requires her passive. It's only a slow aoe burn with a long cooldown.
Abilities that aren't niche:
Yi: Squishy can just survive burst with a well timed w. Mages will never have to worry about health issue.
Kog'Maw: Any champion with this ability would just become an onhit champ, it has too much power.
Warwick: For laners, once you get the opposing champion to below half hp, they cant trade with you anymore, can also see enemy jg if they low hp, can be used to get back to lane faster, either passively or actively.
Rammus: should be a similar rank to Leona w, any tank with this is unkillable during it, any squishy with it can just become immune to most assassins during it.
Abilities ranked too low:
Trundle: 110% AS! 52% MS! you literally get 3000+ gold of value with 1 button. ANY adc can just build full AD now and rely on this for AS. melee AD champs are broken with this as well. Should be top 10. Even some ap champ may want the MS andn healing.
Azir: melee champion can now cs/poke at range. Probably aren't that good on AD melee due to no AD scaling, but tanks will love it since their auto do way more dmg now.
Vi: Similar to Trundle but not as powerful. Most AD champs would want this. Damage, shred, AS all on one ability.
Nocturne: spellshield + 40% AS, up to 80% with block. Any ADC is sivir now with AS to boost.
Fidd: gives too much AOE damage + healing.
Kled: Any AD jungler would love this ability. Obviously you wanna use abilities on cd while clearnig anywawys, and ganking with kled w would pretty much instakill any laner if you have gapcloser (and most AD junglers do).
Abilities too high:
Shaco: sure its annoying, but honestly boxes aren't all that powerful.
Jayce: Ranged w is good on most AD champs, but melee w is way more niche - the damage part will only work if you are melee (and the base damage ain't that high), and there aren't many melee ap champs to make use of the ap scaling. Mana regeneration is also overrated.
Twisted Fate: Champions not building AP wouldn't want this abiltiy. melee champion cant make use of gold card well, manaless champions cant make use of blue card well. TF is already one of the best synergizers with this ability.
Taliyah: No unraveled earth means it will just be a flick with no dmg - pretty bad.
Swain W lets you stop recalls, get out of a chase, gives stacks, covers half the map, I wouldn't put it in nieche.
kogmaw w being niche is insane, it would be good on every single auto attacker in the game
