wish they would do this now days , how great would that be to line up Odell, Mike Wallace,Megatron, and so on for a 100m. was born in 81 and I recall a NFL competition they would hold similar to this in the early-mid nineties .
I went to H.S. with Cris Colinsworth at Astronaut High in Titusville, Fl...he was our starting QB and we went to State twice with him at the helm. He also won the Florida state 3A H.S. 100 yd dash
+Scott D Lofton was a championship sprinter at Stanford so there was no way he was losing this one. Collinsworth was a very good athlete for his time but he'd probably be a bit slow by today's NFL standards. He wasn't so much quick as he had sneaky afterburner speed coming from his 6'5" frame and long legs once he got going.
I also went to school with Cris Collinsworth, and boy I gotta say it, Cris was one swell guy! A real guy's guy, a real life of the party kinda guy. He really was one heck of a super swell guy!
Not hardly, he said, NFL deep threat warren Wells did most of his in the AFL. The other two were better deep threats than Lofton, but he was a better receiver by far than any of the three
@@howardcosell2022 Preach, brother. I truly think he’s in the top five all time in his prime. He did all that damage in Buffalo still and he really just couldn’t run a lick anymore
I remember these tourneys. Nolan Cromwell dominated. A great football player and a great all-around athlete,
Collinsworth reminds me of Matthew McConaughey.
Yes

TC Swag now you’d have Tyreek Hill, John Ross, Adoree Jackson, maybe Saquon and Odell too
In the British version of Superstars, Malcolm McDonald (a soccer player) beat the Olympic 400 metre champion over 100 metres. Still amazing.
I'm barely old enough to remember this show, great fun. I can see why they don't have it now (potential for injury), but wish it was still on.
I'm from jax, FL and my dad went to school with Bob Hayes not that any one really cares but its pretty cool to me
I care
Fastest football player ever.
Bob Hayes played football with my middle school gym coach
I remember Dave Casper in the tug-of-war.

really?
Tony Maggio Yes...really...dude could run like a deer...he was also very good at basketball...btw his Dad was the principle at that time.
Wow! 🙏
Now, here's a guy who won 2nd place.
James Lofton could FLY back in the day.
LMAO @3:22 Don Meredith was the best. "Football, athletics and sex..."
Is it my imagination or does Chris Collinsworth look and sound like Mike Wolfe from American Pickers ?
It’s his twin. 😀😀
Collinsworth is surpisingly fast. 2nd place to Lofton is no slouch.
2nd place means the 1st loser
"football athletics and sex, it all goes together right" haha ...Don Meredith was a trip 3:23
Collinsworth was fast, Lofton was just crazy-fast.
Yeah. He had the Florida state high school record. He is from Titusville. I don't recall Lofton being that fast. Wow.

Lofton was an NCAA long jump champion.

Nah. I think Collinsworth would still be an NFL starter today. For a guy his size, he had really good speed.
Good luck men, have a great race. Howard rocked that shit
This particular telecast is from 1986, based on the US Open scores.
Good work
It is an ESPN re-air when they were desperate for content in '86. Originally aired on ABC.
Prime Lofton could really run and nobody caught him on a football field.......Maybe the best deep threat in NFL history next to Moss.

@@finnfinn7703 Lofton should have a spot in the top 10 WR's of all time. Underrated and played his best under the conditions of Buffalo and Green Bay

9.7? Damn he faster than most olympic sprinters
It’s not 100m
This is a 100 yard not 100 meters
I never realized how sexy Cris Collinsworth was when he was in his 20s.
Costell was a shit talking bastard 🤣. I loved him and so did Ali 🌈. I was 19 in 1982. Great times ⭐️
Colin Kaepernick's father. Looks like him, built like him, runs like him, sounds like him.
WTF are you talking about?
And not a single pulled hammy in the bunch.
Hehe...like the little intro bit of "Jesus Christ Superstar."
“Now here’s a guy”
" football, athletics and sex, it all goes together right "... Well we know what was on his mind.
I don't get it.
They need to just have a skills and athletic competition instead of the useless pro bowl game
k
It's not fair having a black guy in there
