Thanks! Always up for more Nightwish. I have a favorite singer, Marko Hietala, the former bass player from Nightwish. You have heard him before with Exit Eden. He has a new single out called "Frankenstein's Wife." I would love for you to take a listen to it.
Done. Thank you so much for the priority request. Support for this channel is how I'm able to continue... I appreciate you greatly. Look for it soon. Marko's voice is special. I can't wait. ❤🔥
@@VocalCitizen It's probably going to be obvious, but the official music video is the one to use. Forgot to say that, just another sign I'm getting old.
Huge mixed crowd ..the boys cranked it up.....a nervous Floor strode out ....and the Stars and Planets aligned!.......History was made and a Queen created!...
One of the three or five great openers (others are End of All Hope, Shudder Before the Beautiful and occasionally Bless the Child and Storytime). Floor new to most of this audience but you could see instant acceptance.
This whole album speaks of innocence, hope, past, future, children's books - it's of the imagination. I think your interpretation is pretty in line with the music overall.
Enjoyed the reaction! Nightwish knows how to open a show. Another song where Tuomas is exploring the loss of innocence and imagination that adults experience. Here he is remembering that mindset he had as a child where he could explore stories and games, perhaps new ones he found in aa chest in his grandparents attic, with a sense of adventure and pure wonderment. Floor had only been with the band about 10 months before this show and almost all of the shows during that time were in North and South America. They had only done a handful of small European shows before headlining the massive Wacken festival so this was Floor's coming out party for Nightwish's massive European fan base. Many of them knew her from her previous bands After Forever and Revamp and were eagerly anticipating what Nightwish and Floor would sound like together. Whether they knew her or not, everyone instantly feel in love with her the moment she strode out on that stage and started singing. Loved how Marko and Emppu crossed in front of her like drawing back a curtain. She grabbed our souls and has never let go!
Nightwish is known for having openers that come in with a bang and with drama. This one is certainly no exception. What a way to make a great first impression!
She needed no introduction. Floor was a bona-fide rock star long before she joined Nightwish. The huge roar of applause she received when she walked out onto the stage, before she'd even sing a note, was because they knew her from her two previous bands (one of which...After Forever...had toured Europe opening for Nightwish) as well as her frequent work with Arjen Lucassen...they knew her and how great she was for Nightwish.
It still amazes me that Goddess Floor was nervous about going on stage at this show. She sure as hell did not show it. She snatched the souls of 82,000 people, and delivered a one of a kind performance. And it’s crazy to think that she was not officially part of the band at this point. She was still considered a fill in vocalist.
Always worth mentioning that we in the crowd had heard good things about Floor Jansen, but when the tickets sold out she was not on the ticket. WOA sells out a year in advance. We had little idea of how changing to her would sound. This first song assured us this was going to be an epic night. We were not disappointed. By WOA 2013, a lot of the backstage drama that had played out had dissipated and the band was happy.
This was Floors introduction to the huge Nightwish European fan base. Imagine walking out to 82000 people, the largest crowd she had ever performed before, the vast majority of whom would have bought their tickets expecting to see a different singer. No pressure!! But, naturally, she nailed it. They were eating out of her hand in no time. Such is her gift. No surprise that it was not long after this that both Floor & Troy were announced as new permanent members of the band. Cheers VC 😊🤘
Good Afternoon Dear Lady, I so love your show, and joy in your face when you play any Nightwish songs, Woman You Rock, Just wait till you get done the Nightwish rabbet hole, and you are going to see and hear such amazing songs and performances, They are truly and Amazing Band People. Thank You x
"Dark chest of wonders, seen through the eyes of the one with pure heart...." Pandora's box is approached by the curious, innocent soul, and once the box is opened, innocence is banished and curiosity becomes jaded.
Not all wondrous, awe-inspiring, grand experiences/events are “positive,” but that does not make them less wondrous, awe-inspiring or grand. There’s only one way to find out what the Dark Chest of Wonders holds for you and they are reserved for the courageous.
In Wacken, everything was really perfect back then; the lights, the pyro, the sound, the stage, everyone from the band was in top form, the audience ... and the most important thing - it was my first concert at the age of 10.
Thanks for sharing your reaction to this story of a child's journey to reclaim a lost dream - a dream of a world of pure innocence and possibilities that has been stolen. The child follows a pale moonlight to a faraway dream, and finds a chest of wonders. This chest holds the secrets of the world that the child had lost, and the child regains the lost dream by opening the chest. The chorus of the song is a rallying cry for the child to seek out and unlock the hidden potential and possibilities that lie within the chest. The song is an empowering anthem, encouraging listeners to never give up and to always dream of a brighter future.
Insightful reaction as always VC!!! What l take from this song is to release the fears of adulthood and rediscover your childlike curiosity...to not be timid.. Life will always be dark/ light. Nightwish have released a new lyric video...' Ocean of strange islands' Your earholes will be awesomely assailed..l promise you! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂
The Dark Chest of Wonders is filled with the human imagination. Both good and bad, which is required to create wonderful stories filled with danger, beauty, intrigue, fantasy, and everything you hope for on this mortal journey.

The best opening song to a concert..........ever!!

The best show opener ever , 1st song of 15. Remembering your childhood stories and passing them on.

You're not kidding... The don't own the stage... they decimate the stage.

It's lovely what they do... while pummeling the crowd. 😂
Not a bad introduction as the new singer to the European fans, they were all happy.
Happy? Judging by the constant roar of the audience I would rather say an almost 2 hours lasting Floorgasm

👌Spot on analysis. This is not just a "opener",this is THE opener. Majestic epic.🤘
Thanks!
Pure magic, like only Nightwish can deliver 🤘

Remember that Nightwish's new Album, Yesterwynde, is released on September 20th. There will be more Nightwish to react to.

Great reaction! You can always put subtitles on; NW videos almost every time has them.
Nightwish headlined Wacken in 2013, Alice Cooper performed just before Nightwish .
Love me some Alice.
🎉🤘
This is not a great reaction......this is more than that..........feeling, understanding.........
The f**k I love yours !!!!!!!
You made me grin like a fool. I commend you.

🤘😁🇫🇮💙🪄🎼✨💯👍
Edit. Mic vol down a bit, pliiiiiiiiiiis
Really liked the music but something about Floor's singing in this one kept it from moving to the top.
The volume of your voice is much higher than the volume of the music… You drown everything out every time you talk or make a sound.
