It's called a dribble force. So cut the top of the card and make it a bit shorter than the rest. So when you dribble through the cards, it stops on the shorter one for longer compared to the other cards.

That's so hard to do, you have to get scissors, and choose a card, and then you have to throw away the bit you cut off, and learn how to riffle down a pack of cards, dear God it's a nightmare. They should put this brand new trick into a movie about magicians robbing a bank! They could have the card appear on a building instead of being painted in an apartment! I wonder if Jesse Eisenberg is working on anything right now.

You need to have the riffle look clean while stopping long enough to make it an obvious force, but not too long to make it look like you stopped on purpose. Not to mention that he's on a zoom call for millions of people. It's one of those tricks that seems simple, but is actually really hard to pull off.

Pizz48 it’s actually pretty easy it just takes a lot of practice, so what he did was make Ellen say the different things such as ace, 2, 3 and from face movement and another small gestures she made, he could tell which one hers was, I’ve actually perfected this trick myself.
The trick is as he’s flipping through the cards he pauses on the 3 of diamonds I tried to see another card because I knew that was going to be it but it’s I’m impossible because he’s flipping too fast
He did the same trick through the t.v. maybe like 8 years ago on his show. He guessed my card correctly. He flipped through a large deck and I kept switching my selected card (7 of hearts, king of diamonds, and then 4 of spades) several times, before finally deciding on the ace of hearts. Of course... that's the exact card he pulls out...
For people who are confused about the trick. Its a psychological trick where he stops very quickly on the 3 of Diamonds while flipping through the deck so your mind subconsciously thinks of that one because it couldn't focus on any other card. That's how he knew.
Saw how he paused at the 3 of diamonds for a millisecond more and then I rewound it to see if I was able to get another card. In all seriousness my second card choice was the 8 of diamonds. Literally baffled right now
EASYYYY... He stopped at 3,and the way he riffed the cards so fast. Since any number can be made from digit 8 (eg- cutting8 in half is 3 ,cutting off lower left side is 9 ,upper right side is 6 and so on,letters like K fits too)riffing it so fast all numbers together will look like an 8 . he can only make u think of 3 and 8 this way. He can't do the trick with any other numbers (of Course he can change the 3 by stopping at a different number.).
This trick is one of the simplest and best things to show. You literally just cut the top of one of the cards, so when you flick through them it’s kinda like that card is slowed down

@@_Muk_ pretty much, but at first look you probably wouldn't notice the hang on the 3 or 8 being last (we tend to notice first and last the most in any sequence). Looking back you can see 3 is the main, 8 is the backup, the rest of the cards flip fast enough to be a blur.

Watch the tell on the hear again and compare it to how she says 9 to 10. It may not be obvious but there's a very subtle change in inflection that may or not be a cue.

Listen to the way she says hearts that’s how he knew it was hearts. She said the numbers normal so he used the 7 as a distraction in case she messed up but picked the 9 as well cause how she said it.
@Hector Castillo You picked the 3 of diamonds because he had two of them in the deck, so it appeared for longer when he was shuffling through. All other cards are just a blur, as there only is one of each (except the 8 of diamonds, which he did the same thing to as a backup). It’s literally not possible to see any of the other cards, as they become just a blur.

The fact that one can understand how a trick is made doesn't mean it was made badly though. He was exceptionally fluid in all movements, maybe he should have been just a little bit faster on the first trick, but given the fact that the first trick was literally there just to make us think it was all easy, makes it even more beautiful in my opinion.

Its a psychological trick where he stops very quickly on the 3 of Diamonds while flipping through the deck so your mind subconsciously thinks of that one because it couldn't focus on any other card.
That's how he knew.

Saw how he paused at the 3 of diamonds for a millisecond more and then I rewound it to see if I was able to get another card. In all seriousness my second card choice was the 8 of diamonds. Literally baffled right now
Those are the only 2 cards that can fully be seen without pausing the video so it’s not really a trick or prediction

EASYYYY... He stopped at 3,and the way he riffed the cards so fast. Since any number can be made from digit 8 (eg- cutting8 in half is 3 ,cutting off lower left side is 9 ,upper right side is 6 and so on,letters like K fits too)riffing it so fast all numbers together will look like an 8 . he can only make u think of 3 and 8 this way. He can't do the trick with any other numbers (of Course he can change the 3 by stopping at a different number.).
This trick is one of the simplest and best things to show. You literally just cut the top of one of the cards, so when you flick through them it’s kinda like that card is slowed down

@@R2Ro925 I'm almost 100% sure that it's a simple trick card that can literally change from an A of diamonds to an 8 of diamonds. Shin Lim used a similar trick on AGT a couple years back. His trick actually worked though. Blaine's ace didn't change.

@@_Muk_ pretty much, but at first look you probably wouldn't notice the hang on the 3 or 8 being last (we tend to notice first and last the most in any sequence). Looking back you can see 3 is the main, 8 is the backup, the rest of the cards flip fast enough to be a blur.
Can anyone explain this: when he has ellen go “8, 9, 10” he is looking for something. As she says 9, he nods his head as to gesture “ah yes I am hearing what I was looking for” as if she did some big reveal. Does anyone know the tell?
I think he just nods his head as him just being like “ah yes” like “yeah yeah okay I’m figuring it out.” At least that’s what he wanted it to look like

Watch the tell on the hear again and compare it to how she says 9 to 10.
It may not be obvious but there's a very subtle change in inflection that may or not be a cue.
@@WGHpanic nah, she repeats it the way he says it, he finds her card another way, what he's doing here is misdirection so you think he's looking for tells and you spend time trying to find them too, instead of focusing on how he's really doing it.

Listen to the way she says hearts that’s how he knew it was hearts. She said the numbers normal so he used the 7 as a distraction in case she messed up but picked the 9 as well cause how she said it.

@Hector Castillo You picked the 3 of diamonds because he had two of them in the deck, so it appeared for longer when he was shuffling through. All other cards are just a blur, as there only is one of each (except the 8 of diamonds, which he did the same thing to as a backup). It’s literally not possible to see any of the other cards, as they become just a blur.

@@aarushkumar6507 no it wasnt she was in on it, he used a well know technique to change the card from 7 of hearts to 9 of hearts, you can even hear him drop the 7 right after as he dips his hand down out of the view of the camera for a split second. This means he somehow knew her card was a 9, my guess is ellen is in on it because she is in need of content at the moment.

The fact that one can understand how a trick is made doesn't mean it was made badly though. He was exceptionally fluid in all movements, maybe he should have been just a little bit faster on the first trick, but given the fact that the first trick was literally there just to make us think it was all easy, makes it even more beautiful in my opinion.
