Thanks for all the information. Never miss a video. This was the first time I saw handling facilities. Can you do a video on your set up? Also, do you have any for cattle? I remember a video where you walked behind a bull with poly braid and walked him right into a trailer. I figured that was the extent of your facilities. Thank you.
GREG, those looked like dollar bills running out to pasture! love the looks of the red spotted ones!,, your dogs could put a hurting on these coyotes we have running around here !! THANK YOU FOR A SUPER GREAT SHEEP / DOG VIDEO, i love these videos about your SHEEP and DOGs!
@@gregjudyregenerativerancher GREG, that sunshine, green grass, and those sheep and pups and adult dogs looked wonderful compared to the snow and cold were getting now!! thanks for the video
The sheeps have a calming effect on the rascals… 😇 Those rascals were ready for a little nap 😴 Meanwhile, the bigger dogs were hustling to take the lead & make sure that there’s NO coyotes around.
The sheep look awesome! The MO boys are doing well with the MN girls. They are a fair amount smaller, so they look kind of funny trying with the ewes. I think they are getting the job done though. Have a great weekend!
What a wonderful life. Thanks for sharing. IDK if it's compatible with your video-making style, but I'd love to hear/see anything you've got to share re: sheep processing. (currently going through all of your videos, if you've done this already apologies in advance)
Have you ever considered keeping whether's to butcher in June for summer lamb? They taste even better that way and make use of extra spring pasture. Perhaps would need slightly less ewes to make it work.
Greg: awesome work as usual! Wondering for planning purposes: What do you suggest as a running estimate of dog feed to expect to feed per guard dog in with the sheep per year?
Greg, for the dogs that are difficult to get hands on, how do you deal with medical needs whether it be wound care or vaccinations? How are the puppies doing that you found down in the holler?
As a retired sheep farmer I can tell you that during my time rearing lamb, we did not get a fair price. I am glad to say farmers are currently getting a worthwhile price, so that then reflects on consumer prices. It is still cheap in terms of the cost of living.
If you have you Dogs in your house and if it gets to warm watch where they go if their is air coming in under door or a window your dog 🐕 will go to fresh air.
One thing I'm curious about Greg that you haven't ever mentioned that I am aware of is ? Do you have any problems with Your Guardian dogs getting fleas or ticks from the land? And if so how do you treat them for it to prevent infestations?
You should listen to Greg as I do as an Englishman. As they said "two peoples separated by a common language." Now that I am getting my ear attuned to Missouri, I am quite enjoying the way Greg speaks.
Since lack of shelter is Felony animal abuse (pets, dogs, cats,...) I am assuming that you have shelters out there that they don't use. PS, my sheep use the goat shelters when it rains in the winter.
If you ever not greet us without a good day, I’m going to think something is wrong. It’s always nice to hear from a gentleman.
Good day friend.
Good day to ya!!!
I love how quiet and peaceful your sheep are!
They look delicious too!
Considering sheep once I get my rotational grazing operation up running full force! Thanks Greg

Those are the best looking sheep I have seen on UA-cam!!
Thanks!

I love your sheep videos. It helps me benchmark our little flock of 7.
Don’t know the breed - but them sheep look healthy and well and fit - credit to you
St Croix crossed with Kathdin
Greg: Was eager to see the one you picked to process !
Nice job Greg.
That's a good looking haircut, Isaac.
Those sheep look so healthy!
Thank you for the videos. Looking forward to the processing video(s).
Can you do a video on you and the lady processing the sheep Greg? I think it will be super popular.
Watch the video this coming Tuesday afternoon on our sheep processing.

Lambs look great 👍🏻
Some beautiful sheep there.
Have a good day❄❄❄
They look great Greg, nice job guys! Mine are still doing great as well, fabulous animals!
That fawn colored spotted ram looks very nice
Excellent video of both sheep and the dogs. Best way to raise the pups, IMO, and more people need to realize that.
I know nothing about sheep and even I can tell those sheep aren't missing meals. lol
Man, I'm excited to get my flock started! Such an awesome animal

Greg and Jan..yall are so cute!
Love your info
Thanks for sharing !!
You didn't give any suggestions for what sheep you select for your dinner table. Is it fat ones, middle-sized, etc.?
Nice rounded sheep that have a nice fat covering over their back. No bones should be showing anywhere.

Dogs getting ready to go!
Can someone point to the spot where Greg picks the sheep? They all went into the new pasture?!
Have you ever considered keeping whether's to butcher in June for summer lamb? They taste even better that way and make use of extra spring pasture. Perhaps would need slightly less ewes to make it work.
Greg, when do you sell ewe lambs? Ram lambs? When you wean in July? Do you ever sell breeding ewes as well?
All sheep breeding stock is sold the last weekend of August every year to customers that put down a 50% deposit.

We can catch them in the corral when we get the sheep up.
I love lamb but it has become so expensive here in the U.K. growing up, lamb was on the table every other Sunday.
As a retired sheep farmer I can tell you that during my time rearing lamb, we did not get a fair price. I am glad to say farmers are currently getting a worthwhile price, so that then reflects on consumer prices. It is still cheap in terms of the cost of living.
Gorgeous dogs. Do sell any future puppies?
Yes we have guardian dog puppies for sale now.
Greg, are you selling any of these pasture raised sheep (processed)?
Ww sold out last year, kept back some wethers for our own family.
What breed of dogs are those with the black heads and markings on the body? Thank you. Been looking at LGD haven't come across these.
I wonder if they're Pyrenees mixed with Border Collie or something
What do you think about anti-mating aprons? I haven’t heard you mention how you use them, Greg.
We don't use anti-mating aprons. We remove the rams from our ewe flock from July 7th to November 30th. This prevents winter lambing.
Sheep! Sheep sheep!
What a weird coincidence. Five days short of 64 years old I am eating my first lamb tonight. Interesting.

One thing I'm curious about Greg that you haven't ever mentioned that I am aware of is ? Do you have any problems with Your Guardian dogs getting fleas or ticks from the land? And if so how do you treat them for it to prevent infestations?
We use various protective measures to prevent infection from them.
I would like to know how you choose the ones you want to process?
The grass fat ones are the ones we choose!
I didn't recognize Isaac with his hair cut!
Do you worry about ticks on the dogs?
Not in the winter time, ticks are dormant
The black sheep made me laugh
I've never heard Wether pronounced that way before

What do you charge for a dog
What is the breed of the dog called Big Boy ?
3 way cross of Marremma, Anatolian Shepherd, Pyrenees
Probably something else in there too as both the Maremma and Pyrenees are (off-) white and the Kangal has a short sand colored coat.
@@gregjudyregenerativerancher love his look , I have raised Pyrenees, and Anatolian .Thank you for all you do for us
It's best not to pet the dog so much anyway. Just enough to be able to handle for shots and regular maintenance
Somebody got a haircut....
does your son have tik tok???

No, I am the person that got stuck with an abuse charge because a law enforcement officer didn't like me and found a law to stick me good.
